One of the funniest things I'd ever seen gaming online and now it rushes to my memory from cornette's podcast. What a world.
I think he does know what it means, but doesn't understand that it's the same thing in the context of video games as it is in the context of ribbing someone. So I think the reason he keeps constantly bringing it up when talking about the twitch streams is that in his mind he's thinking "Teehee, they don't realize this sounds dirty to us older folks. 😂" And even if it comes out that they did look it up and know, I think that's what was going on when they first listened to that initial clip of Omega gaming.

Technically, Ospreay said the same thing. Will pointed out that he doesn't think his matches should be beating everything in Kurt Angle's catalogue. So if this is an angle... they both simply shat on Dave's star rating by saying the exact same thing about them. Since in another stream Kenny says the same thing about the star rating, that Angle and other key named wrestlers have had better matches and gotten worst star ratings.
So this is just Dave being shat on from both sides. And the angle is that Angle should be rated higher!

Dave Meltzer confirms that Kurt Angle is the greatest of all time in new angle. Where both wrestlers actually agree and settle their differences outside of the ring by having the first ever promo versus promo discussion and come to realize that they actually mutually respect each other and never actually need to wrestle each other in the ring.
That would be some kind of bizarro world AEW angle. It's all just to put over Kurt Angle of retired Olympic gold medalist and professional wrestler and the ironic thing is that Dave Meltzer thinks that he's in on it and he's actually not!

I also think it's very possible that these are all legitimate, and this was a little spiel that he had cooked up in his head previously and so was just ready with it and with how he wanted to say it. I think the polarizing nature of Kenny’s work- and his awkward, aloof personality- made it really easy to outright hate him for a lot of people and assume the worst about both his perspective and his character. Divorced from his wrestling persona, Kenny is showing himself to be sensical and mature in a way a lot of people in that locker room aren’t. Really recontextualizes those comments he made about not hiring 90% of the locker room if it were up to him from a couple years ago, too.
