I think it would have made more sense if he put the switch for the kettle at the start by the milk. That way, it starts to warm up as he pulls it along decreasing waiting time. That should justify milk and sugar furst for a setup like this.

For automation its a good idea cos the hot water will mix the milk & sugar but if you put milk in last it won't mix. It is still the wrong order. I'm not a heretic

I don't think he actually did that specifically to trigger people. Having seen his tea in some prior episodes, i fully believe this is how he would normally/always make tea.

I have a new method for my tea since finding out I'm dairy intolerant.
My perfect brew = Smugglers Brew Cornish tea bag first. Pour the water, let it stew while I retrieve the milk. I use Oat milk, I used to use cow milk but not anymore. Oatley barista edition, try it, it's amazing. I put more in than I would with normal milk.
Then!! Lastly, no sugar, but a spoon full of set honey. Stir it until it's dissolved. Perfect every time, and the right temperature to drink straight away because of the amount of milk I put in. It's made drinking tea a whole new experience for me.

I always get a big spaghetti pot, boil water, throw in like 6 tea bags and half a liter of milk and take that whole thing to my desk with a ladle.

I'm from Australia. Saw some Yorkshire tea on the shelf and remembered this vid, so I bought it (I make my tea almost the same way but with milk last) and it's pretty good.
You should make it fully automated, BUT IN THE RIGHT ORDER THO

Now add stepper motors and controllers to it, so you just need to press one button and the rest works automatically
Personally I prefer a single motor pulling it all the way with notched wheels and pulleys and whatnot to time the different parts mechanically

The switch idea is valid, but I was genuinely surprised that his “automatic setup” has him manually pulling levers for every part of the process AND manually turning the crank. He did a marvellous job as per usual, but it just felt somehow half-finished. I hope that his next video shows the finished setup in the house with only one switch to turn it on.

I needed to figure out exactly how i wanted to make a machine to allow my grandma to easily feed the cats by raising and lowering the food tray, so i hopped on the Colinfurze channel and started scrolling, started rewarching this video and ive decided im going to make a small elevator with pullies thanks to the way your tea machine pulls the cup along. @@jeffvader811 I really like to drink tea. But you know... the tea is best with hot water. The Black tea - 96°C, Green tea - sth about 75°C, white tea - 80°C and Darjeeling 369,15°K. So. If you really want to make British tea, i think the milk is the last thing you pour inside, because tea needs to brew itself to pass the taste to the water.

You can make it fully automatic by using some stepper motors running with arduino programme.It will be much super and rocking.

I see a disadvantage of this setup: given the cold cup, cold milk, and the additional metal deflection spout cooling down the water, your tea will eventually be 3 degrees too cold.
Perhaps you could add a flame thrower to pre-heat the cup.
3 degrees?! More like 50 degrees too cold. Black tea should be made in water as near to 100ºC as possible. I would be surprised if that gnat's piss was above 50º!
