- BJP has been winning across north eastern states since 2016 and in one after the other state, they have replaced several decade long incumbents. It started with Assam in 2016 and since then Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland.. they have all seen BJP govts one after the other. So, the question is, how does BJP do it? I m from Assam n I know what BJP has done. In my hometown before BJP it felt like that we were living in a village, we don't have hospital's, Medical College's, Good Infrastructure, Roads etc. N now everything has changed we get proper electricity connections , Good Roads n our hometown is developing drastically, Everything has changed in 3 years Thanks to BJP. I m happy with our Government.

The intent is to make to bring NE into mainstream and bring development there, for that you need government, and for that you can touch the beef issue
So I would say that it is a pragmatic compromise done for larger goal to build a stronger and more integrated nation and maintain strong border security
I have some really strong opinion against Mr Modi on few other issues, but I have to really commend him for his strategy in rebuilding NE
I feel BJP is the only party which is a bit right leaning (economically as well) they focus on Infrastructure, Jobs, Economy etc and seeing work in the past two terms of BJP rule the trust factor has definitely improved.

I m from Tripura..Not gonna lie, they did change the mindset of people here. Industrialization is now taking place, new roads r being constructed and Tourism sector is being given importance.
People in Tripura always voted for stupid things, like some social welfare schemes and freebies. BJP has changed this in Tripura. Development is given priority.
And , Modiji has given us loads of respect. He has been coming to Tripura frequently. During UPA rule, in left govt, no big central leader used to visit us so often. UPA leaders r ignorant about Tripura and northeast. We have doubtlessly got respect after BJP rule.
Modiji gave respect to India in world geopolitics and BJP gave respect to northeast in Indian politics.

im from Nagaland, and BJP has really tried to bring massive development and has even sanctioned Crores and Crores of Budget every year but sadly due to CORRUPTED Old incumbent VETERAN LEADERS, our Nagaland is in a state of chaos and couldn't bring any major developments like our neighbouring states of NE.

The main perspective here is, the NDA government at the centre has removed the step-child tag from NE. It has been a common practice of the central government in post independent India to treat the entire eastern part of our country as the most unwanted part of it. With such a huge development happening in the NE (Manipur going to be a part of Indian Railways shortly), I am apprehending, the entire east is perhaps going to be truly integrated with Republic of India

@Shukla Jii Taking a simple example, Chicken in meghalaya costs Rs.300/Kg plus already, if people here stopped eating different type of meat available to them like pork, beef etc. then chicken would cross Rs.1000/kg mark.
Meghalaya is one the poorest states in terms of GDP per capita and transport/ accessibility also sucks. As such many normal items cost 2x-3x more than the mainland. Nor is the population majority hindu (Christian/ Tribal). So, you are free to send your chicken supplies at a discount here, bringing parity to chicken prices to mainland rates to feed the people here a decent nutritional meal (Same goes for other food items as well). Beef consumption is much less than chicken, it would go even lower if the price of chicken decreased. And If you are not willing to do so, how can you genuinely expect people here to follow your values on what's right or wrong?
It's not like people here wake up and think "How can i offend a hindu today?". They are simply trying to get by.

I'm from Tripura, khowai district and i like BJP quite a lot, of course they aren't perfect, no one is, at least they are better than others imo. Once i went to Agra and i met some people, they asked me where I'm from, i said I'm from Tripura and they said which state does that comes under, i was in shock, either they are dumb or north east doesn't matter to the rest of India. It was used to like this but now things are changing, not eastern states are getting more recognition, we recently had g20 summit. Roads developed a lot, flyovers were build, electricity is now available all day, there's hardly any load shedding ( in past there used to be 10-12 hours load shedding). My own school was rebuilt. So i think they are at least better than others and i hope there will be bjp in the upcoming years too
