- Hey guys!
Join me as we begin the process of converting this 2010 low roof HiAce into a camping machine.
The goals are to have a durable, cost effective camper with plenty of space for surfboards ready to get away to the beach.
This episode we complete the insulation and installation of the floor.
Next episode we will delve into insulating and installing some ply-board on the walls, and also making a rough frame for our bed.

Mate, getting the floor cut right is indeed a head fuck. I've just done one for the back of the Prado and have to redo the Hiace. I may lose the will to live before then but.

I think now the plan is some tongue and groove boards but just want to make sure I don't rush it and have it falling in on our heads all the time. 😂

For the floors we had foilboard from Bunnings. For the wheel wells just automotive sound deadening. They sell it by the roll on eBay :)

Short wheel base. And the low top one too.
Bit easier to park and use as a daily driver to get to work and stuff.
