- MEDICAL ANIMATION TRANSCRIPT: Pregnancy is the time period during which a baby develops inside your uterus. It usually lasts about forty weeks starting from the first day of your last menstrual period. These forty weeks are grouped into three segments, called trimesters. The second trimester goes from week fourteen through the end of week twenty-seven. At the beginning of the second trimester, your baby, now called a fetus, is around three inches long from head to rump. Around this time, your baby’s eyelids close, and the sex organs begin to form on the outside of the body. By week sixteen, your baby grows to be about five inches long. Fine hair, called lanugo, begins to develop on the head, and the mouth begins to make sucking motions. At twenty weeks, your baby can hear and swallow. And, the baby is more active. You may feel this as a “fluttering” in your lower belly. In the middle of this trimester, you may have an ultrasound exam. It will check your baby’s movement, heart rate, and size. Sometimes, the baby’s sex may be visible. At twenty-four weeks, the lungs are formed, but aren’t ready to work outside of the uterus. The heartbeat can be heard with a stethoscope. By the end of the second trimester, your baby has gained more weight and is about a foot long from head to rump. You may find that you feel better during this trimester than you did during the first three months. Some of the changes you may notice include less nausea and fatigue, darker skin around your nipples, a dark line on your skin from your belly button to your groin, called the linea nigra, stretch marks on your belly, breasts, thighs, or buttocks, swelling in your face, fingers, and ankles, and feeling your baby move. I'm 20 weeks, haven't gained weight... don't look pregnant and didn't know I was until a month ago. No stretch marks or dark line. First baby, its a boy.

You will forever have a piece of your heart walking around outside of your body and there is no greater love than that of a mother for her child.
From the first moment you feel that flutter to the day you see them say 'I Do', you will do anything within your power to protect them and to love them. You'll have days when you look at them, with tears in your eyes, wondering how you created someone so special and so, so beautiful.

A month ago from this post you were 16 weeks pregnant.. how would not know you were pregnant at 16 weeks?
I’m pretty sure when a woman misses her period for that month it should be a possibility.. but at 16 weeks you missed 4 periods… that didn’t alarm you in anyway?
I found at 24 weeks. Have always been irregular and didn’t have morning sickness. I was unemployed and then had a 90 day probationary period so couldn’t see a Dr. I thought I had a GI condition because of terrible constipation (up to 5 days) and heart burn. It’s not impossibe

@@DaneroHoopsmy friend was on the type of birth control that stops you from having periods. She had no morning sickness and every other symptom she had she attributed to daily living that made sense. At 4 months she noticed her skirts weren't fitting. She saw the doctor and found out she was pregnant. She produced less of the pregnancy hormone than you are supposed to when you are pregnant which is why she barely had any symptoms. I couldn't believe it at first, but since it happened to my close friend, now I know it can happen.

We might look at a woman's body as sexy and beautiful, but biologically that sexiness in essence is the pillar and scaffolding that supports and facilitates fetus growth and child birth. A man's body, as much as it is built to be strong but it won't be a match in facilitating fetus development/pregnancy.

It completely baffles my mind how people can think that a baby this small is just a "clump of cells". The ultrasounds don't lie. The baby looks like a little person ( the shape of a human being) as early as 7-8 weeks. It's as clear as day.

If it is light bleeding and last a short time you are okay. But if you are bleeding heavy for a long time it could be something bad. I hope your baby is doing okay.

@@kellimay1959 heart structure can not develop properly it's called fallots tetralogy defects if the fetus have this problem ofter delivery its need open heart surgery now I can't decide whether I continue the carry or not give any suggestions

It's crazy how the baby has developed most if not all the basic functions of a human body but still isn't considered a human!
