Andre Rieu, it's amazing how you bring so much joy and exhilaration to so many people, for so many years now. It'a a legacy that will last till the end of time.
I was raised a Methodist and the first time I was allowed into the sanctuary for Christmas services this was played. As soon as the first notes everyone stood up. I didn't and my Dad slapped the back of my head and said STAND for this. At 75 I still stand, often just before the music starts as I know it's next one the program.

I've been watching all the versions of the Hallelujah chorus I can find, and this is my favorite version so far. I love how the singers don't have to look at sheet music. Everything is just so tight in this version, and most of the audience is engaged. They probably should have stood up though, ha ha. This was a once in a lifetime experience for them, for sure. There is one older man singing along, and a woman who is aware of the immensity of the moment. I do believe God enjoyed this one, and that the angels partook in this song. Here is where the lyrics come from:

Finally a video editor that knows how to cut on the beat. Beautifully edited, and best of all few shots of the audience, so the editor focused on getting coverage of the singers, cut right on their open bar of music. If only later videos (2017,2018) were done this well...

I have now downloaded about ten versions of Händels Hallelujah for comparison and although I dont like this personal cult of Maestro Rieu (look only on this page how often you see "Rieu" - six times not counting URLs and the sidebar and how often "Händel" - zero) I admit that this one is for me the best interpretation - powerful fast drive with professional sound processing - simply delightful
