Vauxhall Insignia Xenon Bulb Replacement

- The factory fitted Xenon adaptive headlights can seem daunting to tamper with. If the headlamp bulb should fail it can be expensive to have the dealer replace it. Here's how to do it yourself. Remember - safety first - take the keys out the ignition and make sure the headlights will not come on while you are working - these lights operate at very high voltage. Secondly - don't touch the glass of the new bulb. Thirdly - the high voltage external element running to the front of the bulb is very fragile - take care not to damage it putting the bulb into the headlamp unit. The standard bulb is an Osram Xenarc D1S 35 watt with a colour output of 4300k. The 4300k will give bright white light. A higher figure will take you towards the blue part of the spectrum and a lower figure provides a more yellow tone. 5000k or even 6000k should still be OK although you may want to replace both at once to have both the same colour.
I don't understand why people put thumbs down on such helpful videos like these, utter wasters, nice one bud
because they are too stupid to repeat what they just saw.
thanks for this video, I also changed 2 xenon lights now on my Insignia... I was a little afraid at the beginning to not damage the bulb, but finally it was working :D ...and just a small tip from me for changing light on left side as there is not so much space than on right side - for me better way was to put bulb back first and then plug cable
Thank you man, thanks to your video, i changed my left bulb and saved money, because i do it myself, no electrician. 😊 Every the best for you!
Thank you!!! the video is really useful. I changed the 2 lamps in a few minutes!

Thank you so much for a very helpful video. I'll make sure I'll use some blue disposable gloves to make sure when changing the bulb.
Thanks you. En tiedä onko kiitos kirjoitettu oikein, mutta olen Suomalainen 🇫🇮. Fine video👍. Thanke Thanks Danke Bassibas and "Finland" KIITOS 👍👍👍🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮
Thank you. Glass and the wire touched the case a lot by fiddling it in. But it worked anyways. Its important not to cary the keys as pressing the button switches on the lamps, too.
Thanx. Very helpful. It's the same system on a Ford S-Max 2009 but have not been able to find any information elsewhere about it. This is spot on GREAT.

Hi. These are the lights of my car. I do not want to replace halogen lamps tip. I took him to power. He said it is not possible. You want to help. I hallogen possible conversion of these lamps?
Hi Ceko S. I think what you are saying is you have these adaptive Xenon lights but you want to convert them to halogen lights. I would have no idea how to do that. I only worked out how to change the xenon bulb.
What about the Bulls on the top of the lamp
Great video, thanks.
I really appreciate that, thank you
Thank you so much.
I drive a 2013 insignia. My bulb went out 1 day. Went to get a new 1 in the motor shop. He came out and looked and said it's not the bulb that's the problem as there was a wee yellow side light on. This comes and goes. Any ideas what that could be? Thanks for the video aswel. Good help on how to change my own

Top man, thanks!
Thanks for the video mate. could you please make another video of changing the backlights of the same vehicle. Thanks..
Hi there. Sorry I've never done that but I think the back lights are fairly standard to change unlike the Xenon jobs at the front.
Anyone else had a problem with the dipped beam (15amp) fuse blowing?
TY FOR YOUR HELP :-)
How Check if thé xénon bulbe is broken or in a good shape
Good video!!!!
Legend 🙌
Hi I replaced my bulb and the light is still not working. Do tou know what else could be the issue? The fuses perhaps?
Hi, how do you replace the other one that is behind the wiper's washer tank? On my opel insignia it is blocking the lid of the bulb..
The answer is in the video. Just pull the neck of the water tank off to get space to work. Push it back on when finished. Best of luck!
66142 and 66140 is it different
Nice but remember replace in pairs, often cheaper and is recommended;)
Is that the same bulb as a VW CC 2012 has? (D3C D3S Xenon). Cheers
I have absolutely no idea.
I think yours is D1, but thanks anyway.
hi. i just changed the bulb, and it still not working. What about ballast, could it be because of it?
Hi, did you solve the problem. Im having the same issue
Could I fit them in my car on 64 plate
I have no idea. This video is just to help anyone who has to replace a failed xenon bulb on a car that already has them as standard.
It looks like a USB stick you can put music on it lol

Facelifts take D3s bulbs.
Great stuff mate, If you want I´ll throw 2 Euros your way. Maybe you can set up a paypal or something like that. If everybody you help, sends you a 2 bucks it is great for you also. Thanks mate.Brilliant stuff.
I think you are a little bit wrong!. The oryginal colour is 4150k you can check that on the osram web. also they have a 4 years man warranty. All bulbs on the ebay are from china or honk kong, thats why all sellers recomend to swap both in the same time, because they can get different colour and is just one or two years of warranty.
Another think - all that bulbs got the label they are produced in germany you can have a look on the alibaba.com and on the most of them is the same serial num and barcode with sould be different !!! The video is very helpful but people be very careful with that fake bulbs !
You may be right. I took the advice from someone who works for a Vauxhall dealer. My car is over 5 years old so I have no warranty. The bulbs I have fitted work fine and I can't tell any difference from the originals. I had to fit a pair as both failed within a short time of each other - it may be advisable to do that to get the same colour. In any case I hope the video is helpful with the fitting even if someone chooses to buy the originals through a Vauxhall dealer.

Yes the video is very helpful !!!
I got the prices from vauxhall Xenon headlamp bulb £117.60 exc.labour £141 inc. labour :)
But i need to ask about warranty...
I wanted to know how to change high beam bulbs on an insignia all I get is the standard bulb change, useless.
Because this lamp is bi-xenon , it does the high beam as well ,
