awesome video bro, can't wait for more with those lunchboxes you got there and especially the GE200
they have added a mac editor just two days ago :)
Its really what makes it magical, that you stop at preset 21 saying this is disgusting, when its actually the one Cradle of Filth plays live. Just to point that the combination of gear and settings does some synergy... so stating the obvious, there are some very usable impulses, the rest is preference and tweaking
there are literally no videos reviewing/demoing this pedal with cleans. I did like that you are honest, nice video.
That’s a killer tone! Like that my kinda dream tone
This is so insane thank you so mutch amazing tone amazing pedal
Great video as always
I am definitely getting one for my pod hd pro!
Hi! nice review, would you say adding one of their micro preamps before the radar would sound the same or better (or worse!) than the amp sims in the mooer GE200? thank you!
Nice video man! I have a question. Would you reccomend me to get a joyo zombie and a harley benton cab and use my pod hd500x only for effects or get this and a frfr speaker? If the second, which speaker would you reccomend for 200-300 euros? Thanks! Keep up the good work
I have two of them and they work awesome
Great Video! Could you please check if it has a balanced or unbalanced output? Thanks!
This might deserve a revisit when you get the software sorted out.
Just got this
The bass cabs are fantastic!
The power amp and EQ is great
There's even HPF and LPF that is a smart add
Too bad your computer platform doesn't work with the software
No fault of the pedal
Hi, I liked the review. Did you get to test the radar without the power simulator, but with POD power simulator on?
Sorry for my english...
So if I want a silent jam could I with this thing ?
Like could I hook a Helix HX STOMP to it and then hook it to the zoom L12 .
Also if I do use my EVH head does the cab have to be hooked to it ? And if it does will it be silent and work if I turn the volume down
Hi man.. hey do you have any idea, if the radar has the same amp sims that are in the GE150? I am trying to figure out whether to keep both..the amp and radar or just the Ge150. Thanks
I bought this a few weeks ago - hooked it up with my Line 6 HD500X - lots of experiments later I sussed that you need to switch off the amp & EQ elements - the cabs are so much better than the stock HD500X ones :-)
Soulhenge, good reviews & NICE AXE! What was that redheaded beauty???
It's a Markline :) They're handbuilt in Italy.
Looks cool..Can I use it with boss me 80 ? N zoom g3xn?... Waiting for the ge200 review..It's laying on the desk over there I guess 😀
You can use it with any unit of your choice! You just need to disable the cabinet simulation on your unit.
What have you done to troubleshoot the program? Try a different cable, reinstall the program, make sure its compatible with your operating system. Etc. Try your desktop and a laptop if you have that option. You could maybe have gotten a pedal with a bad port as well.
Do you have a problem with opening the program or with hooking up the pedal to your computer? If it's the later, I had the same problem and contacted mooer. The discription of how to connect the pedal is'nt very clear in the manual. I'll post the correct way below, hope it helps
1. Connect a USB to your device and the computer (NO POWER, No software open)
2. Press and hold the far left footswitch
3. Connect power to the device
4. After it has booted into update mode release the footswitch
5. Now open the PC software
obviously there is only one switch but this was their response and it worked for me
"The far left footswitch"? There's only one knob on the Radar. I had problems with the App not opening on my iMac.
yeah so I just pressed and hold the one there is. I guess they have this explanation for other pedals with more switches. But if the app itself isn't even opening than it's probably a compatibilty issue like someone else here commented
can use for dual amp on POD ??
You should try with that mooer preamp pedals they are awesome
I've been lucky enough to have owned a Headrush, Kemper, Ax fx2, and helix (not all once). They are all great, but honestly that thirst for 'better' won't likely be satisfied for long. I think us guitar players are always searching for our next tone.
"Better" is always different depending on your mood and life phase... So yeah, you're absolutely right.
Man, I had the same issue with this thingy. What I did is: disconnected the power supply, connected the USB cable, then while holding the red knob pushed, connected the power supply back and it went into the LOADING mode. Then I opened the app and updated the firmware to v1.1. And it works now. Though the app is still quite unstable, but usable.
If that doesn't work, try the same on Windows 10, if you have a chance.
To me the whole point of this is to load you own impulses, otherwise it's almost useless. Good luck!
Please make a review once you sort out the software issue cause there is no review of this pedal with the custom IR comparison especially for metal. It would be nice to compare with two notes plugin or with your favourite free IR plugin
I think the Graphic G is supposed to be an Equalizer for Guitar and the Graphic B is for Bass. Thats why the frequencies are different on both.
Duh
Hello..is good the moor radar? ?..thanks You
Is this the Dimarzio x2n pickup?
How does this sound through headphones?
I've seen several reviews of the Mooer, and units like it now. The consensus seems to be the same. The presets are rather meh and putting some reverb behind it makes it sound better.
As a pure bedroom player I don't need one. But if you need some mobility, these might be handy.
quick question, can I buy for example AMP head and use Radar as a cab simulator and then connect it through my sounds card and use the speakers as cab?
Yes and no, you can do this but you need a real cab because of the amp load. Otherwise you will ruin your amp head.
Soulhenge Gear Reviews Thank you for the answer!
Or buy a load box..
If this pedal does not show up on you computer, please try different USB-cables. I had the same problem. Good luck and great review btw. :-)
Soulhenge, check in w/ the resident troubleshooters in our Mooer Radar
Facebook Group!
Well i think that the point of that pedal is using third party impulses, you should give it a try i think it will sound really better (btw i think that 120 bucks is honest if you compare that price with a real cab)
What Amp you use for this demo
So, If you get this thing, you can essentially bypass the shitty cabinet sims in POD and load in some good ones right? :D
Exactly! That's what I did in this video :)
What Ibanez model is the one that you are using? Or is not an Ibanez?
It's a Markline Guitars from Italy, handmade!
kitty rocks! :P
I wish this thing was stereo. I'd buy it in a heart beat itf it were.
@War Zone if you run this into the effects loop, you indeed do get stereo, just not the ability to get 2 different cabs. however, think about it, dual amp ?? I'm seriously thinking about this before forking over almost 1800.00 cad. for a helix lt or some of the other updated pedals.
have u try combine this with pod hd 500?
Watch this video for that.
lol, i am comment before i finished watch the video. btw it sound very awesome!
I liked the twin and 1960bt. Guess we just have different tastes!
Sorry, 1960BV
My current setup is guitar>Pod500x>bosskatanahead
I use this for practicing and jamming and go from the head>interface>computer when recording.
Playing live I go from head>housecab
Where should I put the Mooer radar in my signal chain in these situations?
Is the POD your effectboard?
@@MilianMalivukMusic do you know of a good substitute product for this? Something with better cab sims? Small and board friendly? Thx
It just occurred to me the pricing is still competitive for loading cab IRs if you were going to use something like a Torpedo Captor on your board and needed IR support. I’d generally agree it would be nice to have some cabs that sound a little better than legacy Line 6 cabs. I’ve always found with the old L6 there were only a handful of combos I’d use.
11:14 Hahaha
Do not works on osx yosemite??
Not for me at least. But it should have.
Love your work man, but for the sake of the honest review you should have borrowed a friend's computer and put in your favorite IRs.
You should have done this with clean tone
Dude I love your videos but why would you even review this piece of gear without having sorted out the USB connexion problem? This, to me, is the whole point of a device that costs 125€, I honestly would not expect anything good from the stock IR since nobody seems to be giving a shit about providing decent cab tones in the current market (at that price range of course) :/
...would have been nice to hear how it reacting to a clean tone...
You can edit the sound of a cab if you don't like it...
Maybe you should adjust your ears. Some of them sounded really good. Get a Two Notes Unit if that Mooer !not good" enough. Sometimes the issue is the player and not the gear.
Yannick Kohl yeah but to shit on a product because you don't think it sounds good and because it actually doesn't sound good are two separate things.
"Now, as you can hear they are all pretty much disgusting in my ears"
Wut? xD
The POD HD series is a joke. They suffer from high internal latency as high as 4 ms . On dry patches you will feel The strings being hit and the sound having a delay after. On wet patches it's harder to detect, but on dry patches it's pretty bad.
Yo man hate to bother you, but ive been working on a song its really really rough, but If you wouldn't mind, if I send you the rough draft of it, an just let you hear it out, an give me tips on how an,what is missing.its not complwte because it sound like farts an poop cakes, but I just need help an,youre to only dude I trust lol
Hey man, send it over on my Soulhenge facebook if you got facebook or inbox me anywhere :)
Soulhenge Gear Reviews will do man thanks bro
Bah!
Totally agree that this unit is not worth for 125. Actually, if you are in China, you would know that it worth for shit.
A bassman isn't a bass can lol. Look up fender bassman amps
Well, actually the Fender Bassman initially was built to amplify electric basses... But guitarists soon found out, that it also worked fine for guitars... ;-)
why can't pedal reviewers do a clean sound without the pedal and then a clean sound with the pedal? It's always massively distorted. If it sounds good clean, it will sound good distorted but not necessarily the other way around.
I personally think it´s almost impossible to judge a cabinet´s character only playing through a clean sound. I use totally different types of cabs for my clean tones mostly, and I´m not really picky about them. Distorted guitars rely much more on the cabinet sound. That´s just my view.
“Here is the preset I like” *sounds the worst*
Bla,bla,bla
I really like the part where you're using a POD and complaining the mooer sounds like shit...lol. The POD sounds like shit. I also liked where you went through several pretty good settings and pick the one that sounds most like shit as your favorite.
David Handy, I really like your comment, thanks. I also really like to say my honest and subjective opinion about the stuff I review on my channel. I'm not making products shine if I personally don't like them or find use for them. There are many biased reviews for you to enjoy online.
@Soulhenge Gear Reviews I really like how you replied. #sassy I also really like to say my honest and subjective opinion about the videos I watch on CZcams. I'm not making content shine if I personally don't like them or find use for them. There are many biased comments for you to enjoy online.
