- Bonny Light Horseman is a trio of singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell, Eric D. Johnson (Fruit Bats), and Josh Kaufman (collaborator with The National, Craig Finn.) The band sings ancient love songs of timeless humanity and heartbreak, in-studio.
Set list:
Deep in Love
The Roving
Jane Jane - Hudba
In my humble opinion : Easily the album of 2020 in terms of Folk/Indie genre 🙌
Completely!
The sounds that guitarist can make with that instrument --- he's like the Jimmi Hendrix of Indie-Folk. And the harmony vocals can bring you to tears.
I've heard people say "This gave me chills," and always assumed they meant it figuratively. This music literally sent shivers of delight down my spine through my ears. This is falling in love at first listen. Chills.
Thank you to the universe for bringing these three incredible creatures together.
I love that the last verse from "Deep in Love" is a play on a verse from "The Water is Wide" - "there is a ship/and she sails the sea/she's loaded deep, as deep can be/but not as deep/as the love I'm in/and know not I/if I sink or swim."
You know we look back at the videos of all the great folk singers and looking up at the greats ? These are those days
2023 - Ending Song of the movie: A Good Person
Oh my. Just. Oh my. The beauty.
Es ist großartig und saugt mich widerstandslos in sich hinein. yeah yeah yeah
Fantastic tunes… Eric Johnson is Talented beyond belief…… Bought all the Fruit Bats, now I’m buying BLH CDs…….. 🎶
So good. Didn't realize Josh was in the Zissou society.
IT simply Change my mind i cant hear Another Record in 3 days after i that there is Nothing compare to the magic the lines They brougth up from the other World of American past Today i have had This in a year it still tuch mee pure magic 3 voices beutifull guitars the voises are the magic thank you it i dont Come offen
Such strident connection and imagery in these tunes - reaching and hoping to land in the realm, right on target - "like drinking the water in a deep well" - lovely ! Anything but ubiquity, I'd say !
Could well be the best thing I've ever watched and heard.
In LOVE with these beautiful arrangements and all the history behind them. Very cool.
I love this band
I love this guitar arrangement with the finger picking. Wow. Really moving.
Obsessed!
Found it on coast2coast
such a beautiful trio !
the guys are pretty damn good too (I got into these as Anaïs’ latest recording) an I’m old n out of touch. Is it rude t ask if that’s baby number 2? Spose while I’m at it was the 2020 tour cancelled/ rearranged does anyone know?
Lovely.
Great show man.
Incredible band. So perfect!
Beautiful
Thanks for this. Yeah, it's one of the albums of 2020, pooling a lot of talent imo, good to hear a decent interview, too!
Beautiful voices. Nuff said !
My new favorite enjoy sending them to friends Bonny light horseman . Want them to come Fargo.
You guys sound great!!! 'nuff said!!
Found out about this group from the UNCUT cd included in the 03/20 issue . The Roving ... just WOW !!!!!!!
That was so relaxing and lovely to listen to. I am going to buy their CD today!
Do they still make CDs??
Love these guys....Thank you!
They're soooo good - but I'd like to point out that the WXPN video of this song is _much_ better sound engineered. And yet most of us New Yorkers always seem to think we have the best talent. Not in this case! Check out that other version.
"There are always incredible musicians wondering around..." I can't find any real musicians, I'm on the wrong part of the earth.
Talk about an amazing super group. Though I’m a bit biased due to being a Fruitbats fan. Eric can do no wrong lol
Keep tryin t find adequate words. Just gonna say this is sublime (?sp) xxx
Roving has same chord progression as down at the uptown by hiss golden messenger but I like both songs, prefer deep in love
Great band! Why does this start at 2:08? Was he doing something important to get ready????
Thank you guys so much, it just warms my heart.
Amazing band. The mix is a bit off here though....
wonderful song. Anais makes such odd gestures while she sings. I
