A lot of people don’t realize it but you have to check the grinding/cutting disc and make sure the RPM’s are rated for the grinder you’re using. If the grinder has a higher RPM rating than the disc it can break apart. Always wear gloves and a face shield.

If you have not already done so, you should be maintaining a plat plan of the property around the house. This is important as it can measure and have locations of all utility lines and distances on and around the house. Having this would have eliminated the problem of a post base measured onto a sewer line. It is good to see some progress again....

With the churches I built in Costa Rica, all our cement work was by hand. I discovered the cement mixes much better if you put the water in first! We also pre-measured our ingredients (sand & gravel) in wooden boxes , water in buckets.

You should put a footer on each side of the sewer pipe and then triple the joists going between them to make a short header to set your post on. It’s a short span and preserves the aesthetics of your porch. The extra joists will be hidden behind the front one.

If u pull the string from one point to the other, wrap it around the post u want it to go to & pull the long tight string back over the loose string u are holding and thetre is no need to cut it and it will not slip. U can do this method from one place to another and never cut the string ever again.

You do not need to pour those footings in solid concrete. You can drop in rocks to fill out the bulk material. You should just build a 2x4 square to measure the foundation squareness.

There's a pic from West America showing a property survived forest fire because they left the sprinklers on. There were sprinklers on the roofs - be a pity loose the lot all at once.
