I LOOOOOVE this podcast. I don’t usually comment, but I love you guys’ channel and your content. But I LOVE hearing about your relationship because it makes me understand the way I am and it normalizes the feelings I used to have since I grew up in a Catholic household as well. I thank both of you for being so open and so honest. It’s genuinely so refreshing-please do more of these!
This just shows how little strangers know what goes on behind closed doors. Bart and Geo were always deemed the ‘perfect’ couple by viewers BUT they were experiencing the exact same problems that we all do.
This type of honesty will encourage younger viewers to strive for what feels right to them, as opposed to seek this ‘perfect’ relationship, that never existed in the first place.
I am so happy you guys didn't give up. There are so many married couples who give up and start having affairs before getting a divorce.

I think therapy is something everyone should do if they can, it is not just for people with problems.
Yeah, everyone should talk to someone professional for the heck of it, because something small can create a snowball. Someone who's perfectly fine can prevent a worse mental state over time. It's a dark example, but people always seek therapy like it's a last resort, so it's like *waiting* to be terminally ill instead of having common checkups every once in a while in case they have cancer or an illness of the sort to stop it early on. The mind deserves its checkups as well, even if it's balanced right now.

Thanks guys for being so open! I have almost no experience in the relationship department and often get nervous when I think about all the intricacies and ups/downs of relationships, so it really helps to hear you guys be open and real about it. It helps me and others who may feel the same see that the ups and downs are natural, that they can be worked out, and that they aren’t something to be so nervous about~ :)

It’s extremely crazy how much my husband and I can relate! We both come from a catholic background and we both recently were way more extremely open and it’s helped our relationship 100% and this podcast just makes me feel 1,000% more normal to feel the way we were feeling when we were insecure or thought something was wrong. What Bart mentions about Geo wanting total equality between the two of them stemming from insecurities...Wow. I didn't think about it that way, ever.
I see it more from Geo's point of view; I want the relationship to be "fair" in the sense that I don't want my partner working like a horse just so I can live comfortably. I want to bring something to the table, too. That way, we both offer tangible value to the relationship instead of one person just giving/taking all the time.
Also, if shit ever goes down, I know I can at least support myself without relying entirely on someone.

Sexuality isn’t the only thing you need to open up about. Self reflection and what your resenting kills what’s going on outside of that. Figure yourself out first. Than others. You can also do it together

I understand what Bart was saying about Geo’s Vulnerability. I am like Geo in her thought process of being a burden and wanting to be equal and what Bart was saying made sense because the reason I want to be equal is because I don’t want people’s opinions of me to be based on my dislikes or negative sides. When I do voice my insecurities I feel like I’m being dramatic and there’s no need to voice them cause what’s the point. But after doing so I feel like my partner has a better understanding of who I am and it wouldn’t hurt to do it again. It’s still so hard to do but I try my best so I can better connect to the ones I love. So they know who I truly am beyond my actions.
Y'all are the best. I love how open and honest you both are and I really look forward to these podcasts every week.
I would love it if you guys could talk about the way you communicate and how it's changed over the course of your relationship and marriage. I would assume it's different depending on the stage of your life. How has it evolved and changed? I would think that the way you communicate changes depending on each other's moods (for example when Geo is PMSing I would think that Bart would know to be a little more forgiving), or when you hurt the other person's feelings, etc. Also, how do you communicate when you fight (past vs. present). You guys touched on it a little bit, but some more concrete examples (and more detail) would be great!
I just feel like the way that you choose to communicate with your significant other can be the single most important factor in whether a relationship works out or not and people generally don't put enough emphasis on it. Again, because of how open and honest you guys are in your podcasts I think that it would be super beneficial to others if you guys would talk about this topic and your own personal experiences.

The ones who don’t even watch the podcast are the ones who are saying it’s boring.
I actually learned a lot of this from behind the scenes of porn stars, but porn has come a long way from the 90s, there are still many genres but the main vanilla porn stars talk about relationships and intimacy etc which i find very helpful.

You guys are like the parents I wish I had.
Understanding that your parents did their best, and knowing that you're convincing enough to influence them for the better, is how you get free from the spirit of judgement or anger. Playing God is too much of a burden for human beings which were made to praise God. Discerning and acknowledging that improvements need to be made is different than judgement though. It has the other persons interests at heart. Justice was completed at the cross, that's why mercy can be extended out to everyone. Even those close to you, that have hurt you.
