ABOUT ME
Hello, for those of you that dont know me my name is Morgan. I am a 22 year old late diagnosed autistic ADHDer from Massachusetts. I am sharing my life on social media in an effort to advocate for autism awareness and break down the stigma surrounding autism and ADHD. I mostly talk about neurodivergent stuff but I also make lifestyle and travel content.
good on you, Morgan! I traveled a lot in my 20s and 30s, when I had no idea I was autistic. looking back, I had lots of meltdowns but also amazing experiences. I hope to get back on it one day when I can afford it and know how to better accommodate myself. have fun! 💚
Ty, as an AuDHD person i love how u make me understand myself a bit more, and give such good advice. Also ur just an amazing person
You are in my islita del Encanto, Morgan!! I'm late diagnosticated autistc adult at the age of 45, I have to 2 kids on the spectrum also and I'm Puertorrican! Wepa! I hope you have loved your trip to Puerto Rico! I miss mi Islita.
Thats so funny i started taking a bag like that when i was maybe 15 i would have my rubiks cubes and my headphones and chargers. Also my water bottle. It helped me feel so comfortable no matter where i went and what i did. Great tips!
Hey, such a huge fan. Im AuDHD (i think that how you said it, lol) (Autistic and ADHD) I've learnt a lot about autism and ADHD watching you. Thank you so much for the tips ❤
Oh, I was so obsessed with wrap skirts when they were popular in the 1990s. I'm glad to know they're making a comeback (bodysuits, not so much!).
Anyway, thanks for sharing. I also love to travel. Let me know if you ever want to get into points and miles! I've gone on some great free trips and love to info dump on how to do it.
I think travel is a way I've been able to make small talk with anybody -- I can always bring the conversation around to it in some way (where are you from? how long have you lived here? any recommendations on fun things to do or restaurants to visit?), and I'm really happy to know whatever anyone wants to tell me about their home (current or past).
The beach being over stimulating you made me notice that most times I think "I don't feel well" are just situations where I get over stimulated and keep going anyways. Will start paying more attention to how I feel before it gets so bad.
Love the vlog 😊 I just got back from my first trip since being diagnosed and it was so overstimulating (big tourist town) but we found a beautiful quiet town close by and decided next time we’re going there instead! 😁
Thank you Morgan for this. It is very helpful for autistic people who love travelling
What a wonderful video, Morgan! I am planning a trip in the next month for my birthday (fingers crossed I am able to do so!) and I will definitely have my safe foods with me and schedule decompression time every day, since I tend to feel overwhelmed or overstimulated. This is so insightful! Also, you look soo pretty with your skirt 🌸
I hope you have an amazing birthday vacation that sounds so fun!!!🥰
@@morgaanfoley thank you! 💕
Awesome video, thank for sharing your Puerto Rico vacation. Hope you had a wonderful time
I’m not diagnosed autism therefore I don’t believe I am autistic but these tips and tricks are very useful cause this stuff happens to me a lot
Wow, great for her and her friend.
It is so amazing she is capable of this. It should freak me out.
I'm just about to go on vacation and this came on my feed, literally perfect thank you
Thanks for sharing your budget travels. Most tourist stay in luxury hotels and dine at fine restaurants but it was great to see that you can still enjoy a trip without going broke for those of us that don't make a ton of money. I enjoyed seeing some of the areas of Puerto Rico. I also love seeing your lunch is PBJ which is something I make for lunch everyday still.
Very cute & glad you were able to keep safe in your travels. For me, I feel safer in hotels. At most, I'll stay in an airbnb with a group of friends. My wife and I understand being overestimated. We're very introverted but occasionally like to be with people that we love & haven't seen in a long time. Getaway trips are great times to catch up.
Every time I stay in a youth hostel, the kitchen is always super messy, and I spend half an hour each evening in there grumbling about how much of a tip it is while boiling some pasta to eat.
The fanny pack. A thing I didn't know I needed until I got one and, I confirm, it's become a completely must-have on my trips. Especially when I travel to the Amazon Rainforest, since I work with indigenous communities there. You can have pretty much all of your essential luggage without carrying a heavy backpack all the time.
I also have been trying to learn the indigenous language, but their language, Tikuna, is one of the most challenging I have ever met (nice moment to say one of my special interests is linguistics and language learning). They also speak Spanish, as do I, so I can communicate with them anyway, but it also lessens the opportunities to practice their language.
thank you for this video
These videos are actually helpful fo rme
Now I want PB&J sandwiches 🥪😋🥪
Could you tell me what hostel? I’d love to visit. I live close by and a night alone would be great. I am also AuDHD and I love this video ! ❤
It was casa santurce and I booked it through the hostelworld app☺️ I’d rate the place a solid 8/10 there was a small amount of bugs but I mean that’s to be expected with the Caribbean climate. But having a private bathroom was awesome!
Hi! I have ADD and love watching your vids ❤️
In Japan I stay in cheap business hotels. I get a private bathroom with all the amenities, so I have a secure place to store my junk while I'm out.
I can stay in cheaper hotels where I get a Japanese futon and the toilet is down the hall, but I'm neurotic about locking myself out of my room, and I don't really want to hang around other people when I'm in seclusion.
Have a great time.
Love your videos I have autism as well
1:58 that was so cute
Thank you I needed this. ❤😊❤
10:35 Good to know.👍
This is soo nice!!♡
Thank you!
Spanish is my special interest and I would love to visit Puerto Rico. What hostel did you stay in?
4:43 kitties 😻🐈⬛
I could never. In a hostel. I’m so greatful I make enough to not need to.
What do u use for tanning ? Your tan looks really nice 😊
Those cats! *•*
i love the feel of rain❤ and mud the sound of mud is kinda 😒 tho 😂
Have a fabulous time !⭐ Lovin the new so pretty skirt 💗
How do you find hostels with the private entrance? When I tried, I couldn’t find any. 😂 thankfully when I went I had my bestie, who know how to talk to people, with me 😅
So cool and informative. Does your bf have autism as well? It must be helpful to be with someone who understands your experiences/struggles!
Do you know the name of the clip of the song the end of the video?
Awwhh I remember that kinda jar... yummy 😋🤤 never gave me enough of ither. 😅😂
GOOBER YES 💜🤎💜🤎
What were the pros and cons of your experience in Puerto Rico?
30 bucks a night? Wow thats a steal lol
If I chose to stay in a bunk room it would have only cost me like $10 a night. Hostels are great I wouldn’t be able to afford to travel without them
@@morgaanfoley I haven't done a lot of traveling in a while and I've never actually been out of the country. If I ever do I'll remember this. Thanks a bunch
Is this an Athens t-shirt you wear? Have you been in Greece?
Hahaha yes it is!! I lived in Greece for 6 months! I did a study abroad thing at the American university of Greece. I miss it there so much😭
@@morgaanfoley 6 months??? Great! I hope you manage to come back soon! Take care!
@@gclito oh no no I lived there (past tense) it was in 2023
@@morgaanfoley Did lots of people go barefoot in that part of Greece?
Hello Morgan. I just saw one of your short videos and have a few questions, some or even all of which you may consider dumb. Is there a platform I can ask them out of the public eye, mostly to save me from public embarrasment, for me to ask you a few questions?
What's up with US people and water?
If you mean the jug of water I bought then it’s bc the water at the hostel wasn’t safe to drink. Like I needed water uk cause humans need that to survive. But also yes people in the US do drink more water and that is bc our water is purified way to much to the point that the natural minerals (the thing that actually hydrates you) are stripped away. I’m not a scientist so this isn’t the most scientific explanation but yeah our water in the US isn’t hydrating
Do you use a chew necklace for stressful trips
Do you have Puerto Rican heritage?
Is your boyfriend willing to comment on how you were the same or different after diagnosis?
I never masked around him even before I knew I was autistic (so I guess that really shows we were a good match) so nothing really changed there but obviously he saw me slip into burnout and skill regression and stuff. I’m the same person but my abilities are slightly lower now
@@morgaanfoley I got burnt out at uni & have never been the same since. Most of my impairments are attributed to a mental injury from trauma. I had quite obvious autism spectrum features in childhood but they are milder now.
Traveling is very very stressful for me.
30 bucks is not that much considering how much hotels be asking for
GIRL, you 22? You look 15 or 16😳
(Did you actually know that autistic people look younger then they actually are, science still doesn’t know why)
You are not autistic. Autism is not about traveling with your boyfriends and exploring cultures. !!!!
then abt what? about laying down on your bed and crying and screaming all the time because you overstimulated or what?
@@placebo1691 Autism is not something pleasant anyway, otherwise it is not autism. I hear about boyfriends, cultures etc
The wrap skirt is soooo pretty! I was going to say something before you even mentioned it!
