Is Bayonetta 3 still good?!

- Bayonetta 3 is a game that was often bought out of spite, due to a controvercy, regarding Helena Taylor. Lets talk about it and the game itself in detail and see if it is still worth a purchase, two years after its original release, as well as talk about my views on the situation, as a small Voice Actor.

I discovered bayonetta franchise in April 2024 I started by playing the third game and bought both previous games within the following 24 hours.
What a surprise when I got interested in the community and saw that bayonetta 3 was hated asf, it’s the best game of the series for me. Sure it’s incomplete but I’m sure bayo 4 will bring some elements that clarifies the story like bayo 2 did with bayo 1.
Gameplay wise bayonetta 3 is a jam, as are the two previous games but they don’t have the diversity bayo 3 brought.
Helena Taylor doesn’t personify bayonetta as much as people say she does imo. They just got used to her voice and associated bayonetta to her but when you start the series with bayonetta 3 Jennifer hale does a good job at it.
I understand the disappointed about multiverse though, they could have used it more creatively as they did with the last parallel universe (Paris)
Ost is excellent you can’t tell me otherwise it totally fits the game atmosphere, it doesn’t need to sound like bayo 1 and bayo 2 ost to be good cmon

There it is, my love letter to a overhated game. I see that people dislike the more “human” cereza that we play bayonetta 3 compared to previous entries, but bayo keeping her elegance going through the end of the world makes it a good bayonetta game. I trust you for bayo 4 kamiya
I totally agree with all of that. I don't have a lot to add there. I sadly still need to play the first 2 games but rn I got a lot of other things goin on that prevent me. But it defenetly is overhated and not seen as good as it is because of the controversy.
I do like Violas gameplay but I do have to say that the level w her in that dessert is awfull. I really hate it. I didn't even try to get that bewitchment of finding everything but it is the one I get everytime I play through it. Is so annoying.
Play Bayonetta 1 and 2. They’re far more enjoyable imo
I thought about checking them out before. I may give them a try. Got a few more things lined up before that tho. Gotta see when I get to that. I want to do it eventually tho!

Bayonetta 3 was never good, first 2 games were far better
I don't think you even know what a bad game is, but yeah 1 and 2 ARE better
15:27 I been a fan since one so if you want to have a debate on character development we can because no development in 3 and no powers does not equal to character development their not one to one.
Bayonetta 3 also has a mutiverse problem where don't reflect on how different their lives could have been it the doctor strange mutiverse of madness problem where character are just shining set peices to die so Bayonetta gets a new weapon and demon nothing more.
viola was a problem for normal people who aren't combat experts in games with the parry window be to short that the developers had to patch out parry window later down the line. Viola is opposite of nero from dmc where enemies were made for nero in dmc 4 while the enemies in Bayonetta 3 made mainly for Bayonetta with the witch trials being clear proof of that I've only see one person made an attempt on CZcams and couldn't complete it due to how limited viola is compared to Bayonetta and jeanne.
The mutiverse was one big problem for it only using characters as shining costumes more than actual characters which made me mental check out at times due to them being nothing more than weapon and demons for me to get.
I defenetly understand. I defenetly have my issues with playing Viola, hence the hate on the dessert level w her, yet I just don't see it as dramatically? It is an action game and doesn't need as deep of a story as, for example, a Life is Strange (To go in the extreme opposite). If a game is fun, I play it, if it is not, I won't. And Bayo 3 defenetly was fun for me. There may not be much character development but there defenetly is some that happens, even if it is hard to spot, like Viola getting more confident, Bayo caring a bit more about Luca and so on. The game focuses on what it is good at and thats what makes it fun.
@photographerkuro they Don't put "emotional music," which is supposed to make the audience feel something in it if it feels.
If it doesn't matter, I always found that as a poor excuse because people don't just like these action characters for just that.
Viola story wise was just their, which is why people compare her to nero from dmc, who had more going for him as a character
How is poor sound design now the writers fault? I am not saying it is perfect. All I am saying is that it is not the worst. And I never claimed it to be perfect.

Where was bayo 3 good? The developers k!lled everyone at random, no plot whatsoever, Just... What?
I defenetly liked it. If you did not, that's okay.
The story may have been... a disaster to say the least, the combat is the most fun out of the three games. Big enemies may _seem_ like a "just damage no combo potential" but you can actually combo and juggle them them just like with small enemies using demon slave, just watch the bayonetta 3 a la mode combo compilation
The fighting defenetly is the best part, yet I don't think the story was a disaster. I enjoyed it accually.
