the guy who set it up would probably be like : "My disappointment is immeasurable, and my -day- 208 days is ruined."
Ahah I get that reference, cause in the anime racing video a guardrail was missing
shot prohibited in the EU for safety reasons
Corridor actually had that happen with one of their shots! They explained that they rendered the scene over again, but ONLY the parts that were missing, and ONLY the parts that weren't covered by other scene elements. And then just comped it back in. Crazy!
At that point and at that scale just rotoscoping a tiny guardrail in after effects would be more than sufficient.
A grizzly bear man with a minigun is probably the most Russian thing I can think of

Будем откровенны даже в топовых американских фильмах, которые крутят в других странах, сценарии часто тоже мега тупые с сортирным юмором и пр.
@@St-hu3om когда у нас это будут делать без денег из налогов - спрос и будет другой, тогда и можно будет защищать росс цкое кино подобными наивным отмазками... Когда на это Шлак и распил не будут браться народные деньги... Пусть тогда что угодно снимают и дальше погрящнут в 3е сортном кино, но не за гос счёт.
И да, кстати, шлак на Западе (имею ввиду в перв очередь "Голивуд" полный не прохолит. Компании такие быстро разваливаются, таким образом и происходит естественный отбор: другие потом 10 раз подумают снимать ли им так же Шлак и почти гарантированно развалится вскоре или же вложить больше ненег и усилий в продуманный сценарий и другие плюшки, а так же стоит ли вообще браться за "такое кино", тк рискуют они уже не подаренными деньгами от Фонда Кино за которые никто не спросит, а своими и деньгами инвесторов, которые им больше уже ничего не принесут, если будет провал...
А если вы приведёте в качестве примера "шлакового сценария" какие - нибудь западные блокьастеры с огромными сборами, то значит не на столько там ужасен сценарий, и значит, что остальными составляющими "взяли" зрителя (актёрской игрой, отличной граффикой, редиссурой и прочими составляющими...). Там деньги считать умеют и в больщенстве своём снимать шлак не будут, если это не компании - олнллневки, построенные на огромных амьициях, обещаниях, грромких именах и вере в них инвесторов на первых порах... Выпустят 1-2шлака и развалится...
От этого и общий уровень кино там в разы выше - больше годноты и меньше шлака...

So, concerning “Guardians”. That movie was kind of a meme when it came out. Not only did it feature horrible acting, a horrible script and subpar effects, it was also basically filmed by a Russian version of Adam Sandler, who mostly directed mediocre comedies, and was quite notorious among the youth and teenagers who surf the Internet. So I wouldn’t call it a “big Russian Avengers movie”. Everyone knew it was going to be bad, and nobody was surprised when it turned out to be bad.
So basically a big Russian Asylum studios movie.
So Russian Justice League it is
Adam Sandler made great movies!

I don't know if you will like it or not, but do react to some indian movies. Just watch Bahubali 2 first. It is much more crazy than the Russian movies. I don't know if it is going to be impressive or not.

As I know, they rented Nvidia Grid clusters in Moscow for the "Attraction" and they have spent about 3000 hours in total for render purposes (according to the availability calendar). I don't know if it was any single scene or all scenes, but our company was the next in a queue to use this particular cluster and we had to wait a lot.

These guys are great, Niko especially is such a good teacher - he really breaks it down and uses physical examples with not a lot of jargon. Part of why I keep coming back to this series.
You know they’re real tank nerds when the final scene is a ring shot. Also basically summarizes close quarters in War Thunder.

I love that shot of the dust and debris from the building to the right, being carried away and slung around the spacecraft by those gyroscopic looking rings, shortly after impact.. It almost reminds of a tornado destroying something..

Just a fact. A tank round travels so hard that passing by humans would rupture organs. But of course there’s the explosive charge so there isn’t enough time to see that.
T-34 is one of my favorite films (due to the crazy slo-mo stuff(and that I'm a tank nerd)). it was awesome to see these guys explain, and shine some lights on the movie.

I liked this review of effects in Russian movies. I know these movies, and they're actually not good. Attraction is awesome, it's the first is its kind in Russia I think. Yet attraction has really silly characters and story. The rest of movies are 🖓

It goes without saying on top of the technical knowledge and information we learn from these videos, the Corridor Crew also has the most enjoyable chemistry and seamless communication to glean from for a creative bunch of nerds and geeks.

"Guardians" is literally one of the funniest movies i've ever seen. When Sloth punched the bear guy I laughed so hard in the cinema, they almost kicked me out.
This is a perfect movie for a "so bad it's good" night, trust me.
You can make another one of those, check A Rough Draft/Черновик (2018) with silly cyber matreshkas, Coma/Кома (2020) - it's cheap, but really inventive and cool looking and Black Lightning/Чёрная Молния (2009) which is basicly Spider-Man about an old flying soviet car, there are some really impressive shots.

Okay, as a russian i can say that:
1)T-34 is a wierd movie with really good CG, but messed up writing. And historical facts were just thrown out of window. Plot twist at the end just too bad
2)Guardians just bad movie, that ment to be our answer to Avengers, but completely destroyed any hope in good superhero based movie from Russia. I mean design of those regular troopers is just pilots from Titanfall wtf
3)Attraction quite interesting movie with odd writing, but at least CG looks really good. Those effects were made by studio called Main Road Post, some of their last works are impressive. Its almost a shame that while CG only improving with each year, writing is... questionable

Ooh! Speaking of Russian Visual Effects movie suggestions. Night Watch (2004, the was a sequel, Daywatch). It's as utterly bonkers as you'd expect a fantasy film made in Russia would be. I was lucky enough to get the film on a twin DVD box set, which had both the English dubbed version & the Russian version with English subtitles. For preference, go the Russian version with English subtitles, it's an extra level of brilliant on top of the film. A bit where a vampire is influencing a person, talking telepathically, the subtitles appear in red & then disperse like blood in water, absolutely beautiful.

@@MrBrunisio T-34 is a tank, indeed. It is the most recognizable Soviet tank and in terms of fame and recognition it is on par with the AK.
I guess they don't know much about ww2.

So, that VFX demo reel is very reminiscent of the VFX in the film "Battleship" which I don't recall you reviewing.
Yeah, critics hated it and it had trouble attracting audiences, but the side stories and character development were damn good. Not to mention one of the most interesting alien species I've seen in a while.
It´s curious because after the video I had an ad about world of tanks and there was a shot just the same as the one with the two tanks rotating their canons faster than the other.

I have been watching the classic bond films I realised I miss actually stuff blowing up and great practical stunts like helicopters chasing cars.
That tank movie is a very good movie. The special effects in it are really clean.
Funniest geek CGI line ever at 14:00: "Imagine hitting simulate on your PC and walking away for 5000 hours and then coming back... and seeing that!"
When Wren looked it up, he said "208 days" which is 4,992 hours. So Sam was pretty much exactly right.

The ship is an amazing concept! We've seen ships crash before. And when they attack cities, it's usually from far away with lazers or missiles or sending in small crafts/drones.
But the giant ship creating blades and using itself as the weapon? That's awesone!
