  • After uploading a video of our new Carrera D132/124 slot car club track we received many inquires on the specifics of the tunnel. Thus we are releasing this video that features details on the tunnel construction. Of course you can build a tunnel for your slot car track layout whether you have Ninco, Scalextric, or Policar. We have designed special parts for track support that are available although those are specific to Carrera 124 / 132 slot car track.

    Wow! I started with an Eldon 500 set, with the red, silver, white and orange bodies. That was over 50 years ago. I wish I still had it. Thanks for such an interesting video!

      Same here, Mark. My dad bought my first slotcar set in 1968. I still have it and play every couple of months… just a rug racer, though. 😀

      @@edteach3r I currently have two Life-Like sets. I combined them so my three girls and I can race 4 at a time. I also have 9 or 10 cars. My girls are adults now so the tracks get played with once every 10 years. I plan to show it to my grandchildren when they're older. I also have a vintage "Get-away Chase Game" that doesn't work.

      @@johnniehobby Got the track, finished building the table,got the track going ,another track arrived, combined tracks and now thinking about what I need next. This is really cool. Things have really come a long way since I had my strombecker set in the sixties. Again thanks for making great videos of useful ideas

    Excellent informational video as always Salami. Love the use of 3D printing to fix a problem. The applications are limitless. Let me know when you decide on the next race night and I am on my way. Any excuse to get the new ride out on the freeway and open it up.
    Also, I didn't notice the flying construction barrels until I watched a second time. That was a blast. I still haven't reattached all the mirrors and spoilers.

    Awesome tunnel. Thanks for the detail and i will contact you when we start to put together a table layout. We are still a floor mounted Carrera layout, preference to Digital 124. Don

    The tunnel is pretty awesome. Creative with the supports too.
    Can you put up a video showing several laps on the slowest speed setting, the middle speed and the fastest speed? There are tons of videos describing how to program, but nobody shows the actual difference.

    Been watching for a while.... awesome stuff. Wanting to get into hobby... where is the best place to purchase a starter set and all the additional accessories needed. Going to buy the digital 124 set to get started and get maybe a couple 132s later to add. I have heard buying sets is best bang for buck rather than buying it sections at a time. To buy the specialty pieces to connect the sets like banked curves, lane changes, and pits. Any info would be much appreciated

    • @johnniehobby
      @johnniehobby  Před 2 lety

      We try to support our local hobby shop as much as we can. If you are in the USA, here is a URL that has a listing of all the Carrera retailers:
      carrera-toys.us/united-states-dealers-page/
      If there isn't a hobby shop near you that carries Carrera slot cars, there are some online retailers available such as www.carreraslots.com/, carrera-toys.com/en, and www.lebhobbies.com
      You are correct about getting a starter set. It'll save save money over having to purchase everything you need to start separately. As far as expanding your set, if you haven't seen it already, info in our "Expanding Your New Slot Car Set" may help:

    Hey I have a question! I’m working on building a track and I wanted to make my own pieces. I got the Carrera evo digital set. Can I use copper tape and attach custom pieces to this track? I’m not sure how the “digital” part works

    • @johnniehobby
      @johnniehobby  Před 2 lety

      Yes, you can connect your own custom pieces to the track. The only pieces of Carrera track that are digital are the control unit, lane changers, chicane, and pit stop. Everything else like standard straights and turns are basically analog, as would your custom pieces be as well.

    What are those red gard rails you use
    Thanks

    • @johnniehobby
      @johnniehobby  Před 7 měsíci

      Those red guardrails were manufactured by Carrera 15+ years ago and they no longer make them. Sometimes you can find them via re-sell sites like Ebay, though.
