Ohhhh yeah! Roman empire, Egypt session, Greece Session, possibly even Germania, Brittania or Gaul! Not to mention building ancient wonders and amphitheaters!
I hope it won't be 'cartoonish' though, I hope it will have the same quality as 1800
Albion is Brittania in fact.
oh my god.... THIS COMMENT
i cant wait
This!
Oh man... new Anno, new Civ... 2025 gonna be a good year
I was thinking the same. Just discovered yesterday CIV VII and now Anno! OMG 😮
Ha! 2025 could be an Anno title. Could you imagine?
@@Emplehod-Gaming But noone wants that :D
AND GTA VI
Yessss!!!!
Me: I'm not going to play the next Anno cause I got burnt out by 1800 bloating.
>Anno 117 gets announced
Me: *My allegiance is to the Senate, to the Res Publica!*
whats 1800 bloating mean?
@@toddblankenship7164 means the excessive number of DLCs fro 1800 that all added mechanics that built upon eachother leading the game to be extremely bloated.
@@toddblankenship7164 They kept adding new DLCs and it made the game unnecessarily complicated and unbalanced.
@@GuybrushK hmm I found the game pretty simple overall and balance? I mean its really a single player sandbox with some very easy AI did you want them harder?
@@FrakkinGaiusBaltar I enjoyed the DLC's
Hadrian took over as Emperor in 117. From what I've been reading he turned away from attempting to expand the empire and took a more active role in fortifying what Rome had already conquered.
Yup! The empire reached is greatest extent at 117, when Trajan died and Hadrian took over
Would fit in with the colonization theme!
Glad Ubisoft recognizes the importance you play in promoting their series
Definitely a 'Teaser' not a trailer for sure in terms of wording, but this era is the right move and I'm excited. Esp as they could bring in African, near-east, and even Northern Europe cultures/regions in the future.
@@WolverineXOXO Egypt is in Africa though. So "African" counts.
They said there will be two regions, provinces you will be governing; Latium (Basically where Rome is) and Albion (England). The screen is reflecting that.
Apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system, and public health ...
what have the Romans ever done for us?
Brought peace!
Yeah but apart from that?
Can't beat a bit of Monty Python Life of Brian 😂
Rome / Italy on the left, the Oracle of Delphi / Greece on the right? VERY excited for this!
I didn't notice that until you mentioned it, but that does look like Delphi on the right.
Good observation
but girls think anno is boring tho
This setting is great. I really love ancient rome, and mediterranean area is so beautiful!
This has so much potential. I love ancient history and have high hopes.. you know one of the great things about the Roman Empire was their paved road system… pretty excited to see the detail and distinctions between the different cultures and cities
So hyped! I was waiting for a new anno and hoped they would announce something today. And than not only getting a new anno but also in this awesome era is just the icing on the cake!
Also happy for you to get some recognition from Ubisoft of your hard work on the anno series and granting you this opportunity for a first look!
followed you since your 1800 series then join discord for guides , seeing you smiling at new anno game make me happy too
I remember in Land of the Lions, I found some ancient Hellenic ruins. And we thought it was teasing that the next Anno that would be in Roman times, year 9 or 27 maybe.
So happy that they're doing it, I know a lot of us wanted an Anno in roman times.
Caesar 3 is my favorite classic city building game and Anno 1800 my favorite new one, this is gonna be amazing.
I love the trailer. Grats on getting the scoop Taka! So the impatient wait begins! 🙂
In 117 Rome controlled England all the way to Crimea and Egypt, the entirety of the mediterranean sea. So there are a few biomes available to switch maps and create other cities, but I'm not seeing where the snow biome could be in the future, or a tropical one.
Congrats on the sponsorship and yay new Anno!! Edit -- "Oh, this is awful!" he says, grinning from ear to ear. I agree, but the trailer was certainly fun.
Let’s gooo! I am SO hyped! I was really hoping it would be Roman!
About the promo image and the two cliffs on either side of the ship. There's a snippet more on the Anno Union page. These two should represent the first two regions - Latium (our home region, where Rome is), and Albion (basically Britain). I also believe they must include a southern desert region (Africa, Aegyptus, or the Levant, maybe Judea) in an expansion.
As a long time player of Zeus Master of Olympus and a recently replaced with Anno 1800, I am very excited to have a new setting. I do hope there's a greek mythology theme.
Reaally looking foward for it! Super exciting, and so many posibilities!!!
Thanks for sharing! FYI, in the past the west coast of Italy was actually covered in frequent swamps from Tuscany down to the bottom of Latium region. It was a lot of land that had to be reclaimed - and some went unreclaimed until last Century. So - nice touch of realism and historical precision from Ubi !
So excited to see this title
The contrast, combined with the text on the website, sounds as if you have to make choices each session. Going Roman, or going "native". Maybe similar to Enbessa lore choices, but maybe even more impactful differences for your session?
Already told my manager i'll be scheduling a sabbatical, next year :o
The picture with the city on the left-hand cliff and the green town on the right-hand cliff with the boat going between them is Byzantium on the left. On the right is Asia Minor (modern Turkey). This game is going to involve founding Constantinople at this site.
I was just wondering the other day when we would get news. This is awesome news.
I look forward to this and discovering everything with you!
Awsome! looks great, wonder if the pack means you have to wander around to place your first city? Who knows looking forward to this. Love your work thanks so much for this vid.
OMG Can't wait :) looking forward to it :) Hopefully it'll come out soon :)
Wife: How often do you think about the Roman Empire?
Me: Everyday babe. Everyday.
The right side of the landscape reminds me a lot of Greece and the Balkans. So we may have two different sessions for the base game - Rome and Greece. Also it fits very well thematically, as there are thousands of islands in the Aegean sea.
I did not expect this! Exciting news
Amazing. Cant wait!🎉
I 100% called this being set in ancient Rome years ago on one of Taka's streams pre Seeds of Change. Gonna revel in that for a bit. :D
Totally unexpected news! Super hyped now. Best roman simulator for sure!
One of the already known region is Albion or nowadays known as the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Thanks for this, I still havent finnished anno 1800. But I am looking forward to this anno pax117.
Its also way before all the other anno's, and I hope it will be as big as this anno.
Thinking about it hope they have Aquaducts, wich gathers water from mountains.
That is SOOOOO cool ! Thanks Taka!
The Backpack maybe means, that the pops won't spawn immediately, but have to travel to the settlement. Maybe like it was in Ceasar 3.
More to come, should be exciting when it does
I suspect the marshland being covered in wealth could be reference to London.
So maybe that's how the Britain map will be like when you go off the main map in other games
That starting screen made me think this was Assassins Creed.
Woah coooool! Can't wait!! 😎✌️
In trailer description, on Ubisoft channel, they wrote you'll be governor of two provinces: Albion and Lacjum. I think those are these two lands on both sides of a picture. Probably those two different sceneries in trailer are also from these provinces. I kinda feel Anno 2070 wibe with two faction to choose at the beginnig. Also I like that this lector has a "pin" on his toga with A in the same font as game title. First I was confused because I thought it was a Sparta symbol. Can't wait for this game and like you said want to see some in game shots.
Can’t wait for this!
I see a lot off people discuss where the new setting will take place. But Anno is never placed in real county’s or lands. They just use a time period to make a game setting in a map with islands. So if they break with that they will break with the anno tradition
As a history teacher I am so excited to use this with my students!
Recently bought all season pass for Anno 1800, I love it, can't wait for best RTS City building game, in my favorite time period!
Civ 7 and Anno 117 announced just days apart? My god christmas is really early this year ❤
Cant wait for the next share's u can share :)
Oh maaaaan! ANNO+ROME!! I am excited!
I'm a huge Anno fan...since the original 1602 game (which i still have). This will definitely get a lot of play.
I was a huge fan of the Caesar city-builders. This is going to be freaking incredible.
Did not expect a Caesar Teaser.
Hell ya!!! Lets go!!!
Fun fact, AD and BC were not proposed until AD 525, so year ("anno") 117 would historically be in relation to a particular pair of consuls, making it weird to have such a high number since youd just refer to a more contemporary set of consuls in that case.
It could be referring to AUC i.e. since the founding of Rome, but Wikipedia suggests that was very rarely used prior to the Renaissance.
Please LMK if I missed something, I looked this up fairly quickly as the thought occurred to me that in AD 117 they might not have called it that since it was before Christianity was mainstream anywhere.
It's good Latin anyway and reflects year 117 of Our Lord Jesus Christ. While A.D. 117 is before the Empire legalized Christianity, Jesus had been born and there clearly were Christians (as well as Pagans, Jews etc etc). In what I have experienced of the Anno games they are based on implicit Christianity, the people need you to build churches and even in Anno 1400 you have to build a Cathedral (the church of a bishop). etc.
I had a feeling it was gonna take place in ancient times....im hyped yo!!
I really hope we're gonna be able to go to different sessions like Rome, Egypt, Iberia, places that we were in the Roman empire at the time.
Begening on the right and endgame the left?
Could the coliseum be a monument?
I like how they have the herald as kind of like a play on the HBO series of Rome.
DAUMN!!! That looks nice!
It’s going to be hard for them to follow up the Industrial Revolution, it’s such a good setting they will really have to work to make this more popular for them
I hope if total war Rome 3 ever comes out, that it would have an Anno like city building feature like this on the campaign map.
New Anno AND with a 40k refference? Oh we ballin
I'm so hyped it's not even funny. That reveal trailer was perfect.
Looking at that key art it looks like Britain's chalkstone cliffs. Considering that, it may be Greenland or Denmark on the right hand side. But initially, accounting for the trailer, I was thinking about Italy/Mediterranean and Britain as possible sessions for this Anno title. The chalkstone cliffs might also be the french north coast. Then the mushy landscape could refer to Britain (or Ireland or Scotland).
MAN! this is a month full of trailers and teasers!! My opinion on this one is the same as the CIV VII one is only a teaser, it is just meant to hype us and start talking about, but taking in consideration that is Rome we can make a lot of assumptions about it is there be naval battles? would be the return of LAND units (come on Roman Legions anybody) is there going to be interaction with "SAVAGES" and... would it be a story based route?(I hope so) anyways.. 2025 looks so promising ... yes I would love to build THE Colosseum
This is what anno was supposed to be 😄
Since I first played anno 1404, I’ve been thinking about this concept.
Yay 😀
Taka’s cats panicked!
Is it here yet ?
I’ve been wanting this game to be a thing since 2009. Not even kidding.
Woah Anno, take my money!!
Let's goooo!!!
This will be soooooo nice 😁
The history edition bundle was live action, even if only for a very quick moment, I think
The right side with the cliffs could be representing Roman colonies in Britain. Hard to say for sure but still looks like roman architecture.
It's clearly Greece
@@gizmo3846 Possibly
We now know that the two sides of the key art represent the two starting regions that you can choose to play in first... Latium or Albion.
@@WolverineXOXO Look up a photo of the Parthenon in Athens and how it stands proudly on a steep hill. It matches greatly the picture on the right.
It is definitely Greece. Moreover, Greece was way more important and tied to roman culture, economy and civilization than Britain was at that time. It makes much more sense to have Greece as a starting session than any other region.
@@8wayz2shine Confirmed to not be Greece. It's Albion AKA Britain.
oh dude this is going to be amazing.. the Roman era is sure going to be a treat! HAC NOENUM PAX!!!
cant wait for new anno
With the direction ubisoft is going, i have zero expectations from anything they tease. They are more than capable of fkin it up big time !! Need to see the gameplay to know what are they cooking this time XD
New anno game looks nice!!
Here goes my spare time, thanks taka
Possibly a bit more like the old game Caesar, as a governor you are given missions to settle certain province and reach certain targets before being sent to another province to begin a new challenge .
No they told us that we would be settling one of two provinces... Starting province is up to us and then we would go to the other one.
there will be 2 bioms, "Latium" as a calm fertile italy like setting and "albion" inspired by the environment from the celts in the north (more details at gamestar CZcams channel)
Fuck yes!!!!!!! I always told in stream I hoped for roman era!!!
Я тоже подозревал что после 1800 они уйдут в Рим или близкий к нему период) просто прикинул какая комбинация цифр даст 9)
@@user-xy2sr7uv9x yes exactly my thoughts! Funny how I never thought about 117 though, I was somehow thinking about the year 9 or the year 207 or something.
117 makes a lot of sense because it was the peak year of the roman empire under Trajan
The part on the right gives big British isles vibes.
I cant wait to see how they handle naval combat in this game. there was no blackpowder back then
oh yeahhhhh take my money and my soul anno !
Just got me a massive gaming hard on, Not only a new Anno but a Rome themed one. I'm as excited as an Englishman can be " "Jolly good show old chap, time for a nice cup of tea". Can you see how excited I am 😂😂.
Cant wait😀😀😀😀
I really hope they put multiple regions on one map. I was never a fan ofswitching around between multiple region maps.
Omg, if it’s like Anno 1800 mechanics… Amazing!
Told my cousin yesterday there wasn’t really any games I was looking forward to then “bam” 2 on the same day
I guess this game's map will not focus on Islands, just like all other previous Anno's. So it will be more of a Total War, with provincies or something like that.
I wonder if it was the same actor from the show Rome. It's done the same way.
Caesar V !?, It has been 20 years
I really really hope they are not stupid again and will allow the game on Steam. That's a very important thing for me. Got the Anno 1800 there during pre-release and was glad to catch it as they removed it later on.
I done need this kind of drug in my life again
The art on the right represents Britannia, which is going to be equivalent to the "new world" session in 1800.
Yes and no... It was already confirmed today that there are two possible starting regions, Latium and Albion, and you can choose between either of them to start in.
I think a greek theme would have been nicer than roman, but getting the number to sum to 9 might have been more difficult
Looking forward to checking this out, too! Anno 1800 was too steampunk for me.
