    Am currently having an issue working on a hybrid high frequency inverter showing error 09,after changing output mosfets,it change to 06,then I observe some zener diodes I changed off hand maybe I didn't get the real voltages,pls can u help me with real values of those zener diodes on the small output transformer...with codes zd3,7,8 .
    It's 5kva/48v.

    @HaseebElectronics It's worth to also mention that it may be also a failure in the transformer winding... I'm fixing right now a Modecom ATX SMPS with both failed switching transistors,bruned fuse and desoldered one leg of subber resdistor. I fixed that problems, turned on PSU, and I notice that output voltages are very low, fo example 12V rails has 1 point sth Volt. I also noticed that snubber resitor gets very hot and after some period of time, transystors failed once again and "blew" a fuse once again...
    After that failure, I inspected PSU closer and more precisely and I noticed that transfomer has sheinked nad wavy isolation. and looking from the top I also noticed that isolation layersare melted, so I removed transformer, disassembled it, what wasn't easy, because isolation tape was so badly overheated that it falls apart, so I had to scrape it peace by peace and I noticed that one of the wires in the center-tap tail is blackend partially, burned!!!!
    I have 2nd PSU based on the same chassis, but with increased output power, so I borowed transformer and transistors from it, put my patient back together and bam, it worked!!!!
    Transformer failed, but I have to admit that anyways it done the job perfectly, becuse isolution worked and didn't allow the sec. winding short itself with primary!!

      yes optocoupler is used for switching. just set its ESR value high to drive the optocoupler in saturation
      try to use TLP250, TLP350, HCPL3150 CY17 type optocouplers that is specially for isolating switching optocouplers
      of use any IGBT / MOSFET driving optocouplers

    i think that the resistance in snubbing circuit is much more greater that the resistance of the main winding. so even if the diode in the snubbing circuit is failed, there will be still switching. correct me if i am wrong.

    • @HaseebElectronics
      @HaseebElectronics  Před 2 lety +2

      no dear
      this resistance is also low with compare to the inductive reactance of the primary winding
      primary winding's dc resistance is always low but ac resistance working at high frequency is very high
      you can check video number 284 & 510 on rcd snubber

    Low side switching is simple and easy to protect its gate but high side switching is something else I use gate drivers transformer and switching 22 volt to mosfets gate the gate is rated 20vgs but I measure the gate voltage and it’s 160 volt volt from the two switch forward converter can you explain why the mosfet gat no blowing out at the voltage I don’t have a ziner diodes to protect the gate
