HOLY CRAP THAT OPENING GRAPHIC WAS AMAZING!!!!! Why don't they have that anymore? :(
because they take away all the good shit
Bc it's helmet to helmet contact lol
Because everybody is weak now.
What happened to presentations to football games like this? Idc what anyone says those helmets clashing and MNF theme song is cool af
CTE they don’t want to promote it
@@Eugenepanels 😂😂 makes sense
We want our favorite players to be able to live past the age of 50. Sorry
They could just remove the helmets clashing due to CTE. The two helmets flying in from outer space into the stadium is still awesome. Wish that was still a thing.

Antoine Winfield was a beast. Smallest player on the field but was one of the hardest hitting guys on it. One of my favorite Vikings of all time.
Doesn’t his son play for the Bucs this year?
Hella underrated
Outbid the jets to get him out of buffalo
Him and Steve Smith were one and the same: physically small but play big
@@CompletelyRandomAndUnknown he pick sixed Rodgers
I feel like Devery Henderson is one of the more under-appreciated receivers of his era. Never a 1,000-yard guy, and overshadowed by tons of other Saints receivers from around this time, including Joe Horn and Marques Colston. But he led the league in yards per catch twice (2006, 2008), and when Brees threw it in his direction, you knew a big play was on the verge of happening.
Merry Christmas, everyone
What might be even more impressive was that Devery went from leading the league in drops in 2007, to be being one of the most sure handed receivers the Saints have ever had. He made so many clutch first down catches in the Superbowl in 09.
I agree, former LSU guy, and was really great there. Henderson was a great receiver and a go to guy when you needed him, short pass or deep he had good hands.
This was the year the saints finished last in the division with an 8-8 record. Back when the NFC South was hella competitive
When sedrick ellis was good but not the warren sapp impact people thought the same as louosiana legend glenn dorsey
The NFC South was pretty competitive in 2017 when the Saints, Panthers, and Falcons all made the playoffs.
It still is . Covid , injuries , and bad coaching doesn’t help ...NFC South stacked
The NFC South was known for having a different division winner nearly every year. It was that way for a while until the Saints really took over in 2018. Of course, it was Tampa Bay that won a SB despite failing to clinch the division... Basically, it's been a largely competitive division for years.
@@LukeR.5117 So you're gonna forget the Panthers 3peating from 2013 to 2015 huh?! I see how it is...
Ok, that MNF intro is GOATed

19:35 I just saw a decapitation my lord
Go back and watch the attempted murder at 13:46! lol
Today, I remembered Gus Frerotte was still playing football in 2008, lol!
So the Saints and Vikings ain’t never had a game where it wasn’t chaos from start to finish
Would you expect anything less when these teams play each other?
Reggie Bush was torchin they asses 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Pierre Thomas and Reggie bush was killing it that night
*Bush
Honestly this is the rivalry nobody talks about. Go vikings.
Heh
@@Cremecicle eh. vikes have horrible d
Payback
@@bigbananadealer846 1 game where they were missing half their defensive starters makes the team “awful” on defense?
The Saints had a terrible D for almost the entire 2010’s
@@mbelma6329 im a vikings fan idiot, and yes, the defense IS horrible. the vikings sack leader only has 5 sacks, and has been off the team for ELEVEN weeks. thats horseshit defense. but theyre literally all rookies and practice squad guys except odenigbo (not very good), harris (not trying), and smith (getting old) so im not like pissed or anything. just a shit year
As a packers fan even i will say the Williams wall was no joke
Vikings Saints need to play every season
Miss fans in the stands...
I do to we might get them back in 2030 oh and I'm kidding by the way.
@@nathanielduncan4692 We're back to normal! :D
If this game happened this season. This exact game. Imagine the UrinatingTree video on it
The Saints would be the Lolcow of the week!
Its happening soon
Bro I love that guy
this is an insane game thank you for this highlight video
I never knew reggie bush was that explosive in the return game
He was like brian westbrook
He wasn't, he was just playing the Vikings. Devon Hestor had like 10 punt return TD's against us. The Vikings never learned to punt the ball OB.
🤦🏾♂️ Have You Not Seen His College Highlights? Lol Man
was that the THX sound at kickoff? Those poor fans :(
It sounds like it
Sants vs vikings
A classic rivalery
Big L revenge time today, fuck the vikings.
@Big L when you can’t own anyone in your own division, just own someone from a different one. I bet it feels good winning games against the saints since the Packers are always stomping the Vikings into the ground
Welcome to Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans on Christmas Day!
Funny seeing brunell as clipboard holder
Great matchup b/w Adrian Peterson and Reggie Bush
How the Vikings had a halfway-decent offense in 2008 with a 37-year old Gus Frerotte leading the way, I'll never know. They went 8-3 under him somehow
Adrian Peterson?
They were loaded except qb
Not to mention throwing to the likes of Berrian, Allison, Wade, and Shiancoe. Defies all logic. An offense that offensive should be a crime against football.
@@eternalreign2313 wasnt Shiancoe a Pro Bowler?
@@jpinon403no…
A epic game that both team needs playoffs miracle
whenever the Saints and Vikings play you can be sure a giant amount of salt and rage will be generated. The Hatred Bowl
2008 season was great in general for the NFL, so many memorable games
15:07 can we bring this camera angle back??
I remember this game. There were rumors going around that if the Vikings lost this game they'd fire Brad Childress.
I believe it, we would have been 1-4 had we lost. He hitched his wagon to Tjack and that blew up in his face by week 2, but somehow Frerotte kept us in playoff contention before the deer in headlights Jackson returned to get smoked by the Eagles in the playoffs.
They were very physical out there 🔥🔥🔥hella big hits you love to see it 💪🏾
The Saints would get their revenge 15 months later but the Vikings would beat them 2 out of the last 3 years in the playoffs
They *cheated their revenge 15 months later
@@connorkeenan2482 BountyGate, their head coach got a season suspension for it, and their defensive coordinator got banned for it.
@@connorkeenan2482 Lol Yep
The fans chanting your name and you nearly take 3 punts back for TDs in a single game!
8:12 when the LSD hits you🤣
Some of the worst officiating I've ever seen in an NFL game. MULTIPLE blatant penalties that weren't called.
Rules were a lot different back then. Lot less flags and the game was a lot more physical
Might be the only game in NFL history where the Vikings were on the favorable end of some bad officiating. It's alright, the refs got us back in the '09 NFCCG.
@@thecrab3084 that missed face-mask which resulted in a fumble tho
justin gonna have 150 yards 3 tds on them today
AND THEN YOU WAKE UP
If this is a playoff game, maybe.
Saints defense is way too good
@Keith Cousins your confusing
@Keith Cousins yea I'm lost
Drew Brees doesn’t want to ever play the Vikings again
💀 but he still going do his thing
Drew Brees actually ran ?
He has more rushing tds than bo Jackson🥵
Those two great blocks on Reggie's first kick return of a td would have been called back in today's league for hitting a defenseless player
Antoine Winfield Antoine Winfield Jr.
🤝🏾
Sending the Aints home sad in the Dome.
This game looks better than most games today. Talk about HD
That block at 13:46 o momma he got rocked
19:34 damn son the way he flew he must’ve been Miller Lite 😂
Frerotte throwing to the likes of Berrian, Allison, and Wade. I'm amazed we won any games with that offense.
Man totally this game is gonna be big on Christmas day , but yeah lots of playoff implications for both teams
8:11 uhhh what happened 😂
Omg😂😂
Go Vikings go!!!💜💛💜💛
Those Vikings jerseys were WAY better than the garbage they have now.
Man the Vikings had every call go their way this game..
Even though im a packers fan its hard to forget how good steve hutchinson was the former seahawk and michigan wolverine legend
The Saints are celebrating that they won't be playing against the Minnesota Vikings this season.
Anyone here after the game?
AK41 went crazy 6tds
Isn't that every Vikings-Saints game?
2018 game is what immediately comes to mind. Vikes were 10 yards away from a 10-point halftime lead and ended up 17 down in about 5 minutes of gametime.
@@LiamBriggs18 I was thinking the two playoff games in recent history
If today's game is a playoff game, even the Saints fans will shake in fear that they will lose.
😓😓 maybe
I get why Saints fans hate the game refs.
THIS WAS INTERESTING...................
It’s the Minneapolis miracle in 2008 without the miracle lol
Sometimes it's the games with an uncountable number of mistakes by each team that wind up being the most fun to watch.
Just never know when the next bolt of lightning is going to strike.
Life was so basic before Covid
Ive been asking around for years... Could this finally be the k.o. game
'Twon was THE game changer player
In the 1st half it feels like every other play screwed the Saints
I wish I was into NFL football dem times lol I'm hella late:$
This was basically "Angels in the Endzone" in favor of the Vikings. Despite the boost, they still almost lost.
4:04 Jesus I forgot how brutal and legal this hits were.
Why the Vikings started Tavaris Jackson in the playoffs that year is beyond me.
19:33 Would have been targeting today, but good lord that made my brain hurt just looking at it.
Who remembers sedrick ellis from udsc the defensive tackle
We really need the crashing helmets back on MNF. Thanks NFL.
Shut up yugi
You could add Jaguars vs. Bears Week 1, 1998.
These graphics are better then 2020.
War eagle
Vikings Saints best rivalery
Wow so many head to head hits. I mean holy shit guys are literally just throwing their whole bodies at heads. The game has changed
You should do “NFL players god mode” video
Like Kamara scoring 6 fucking TDs
@@matthewdowling6549 yesss like that!!!
Dam the saints special team returns just dominated the Vikings
I don;t know ifive ever seen a blocked punt go striaght int to the hands of a player like that 3:10
I find it dumb how back then ESPN's scoreboard takes up so much of the screen at the bottom with that unnecessary background. Their scoreboards for the past few years still do the same mistake unfortunately. They have the worst graphics out of all the networks currently and they should go back to replicating their early 2010's style of scoreboard. At least then they didn't take up so much of the screen while looking flashy in an awful manner.
U should’ve posted the second heartbreaking loss In the wild card round a year ago
@Big L how is it not a heartbreak
@Big L that was 100% a heartbreaker. U on something??
@Big L I did expect it to happen what are u talking about???
@Big L First of all it was 10-6 not 17-6,the game went down hill once Drew threw the interception and they scored to take a 13-10 lead.Secondly Drew didn't choke he did enough to bring us back to tie it to go to OT and we didn't see the ball again in OT.He just didn't play well and chose the wrong day to play his worst of the season.his first two turnover game of interception and fumble. He didn't choke but he didn't play well.I held him accountable for that loss as apposed to the other losses cause that was the defenses fault. If the score had been 17-6 instead of the interception then we definitely would've won cause we don't choke leads like that not in the playoffs.
@Big L Oh so same for Brady huh?I seem to recall when Brady lost last year people used the six rings as an excuse or said the defense was at fault?Who do you blame Brady or the defense?Who is your favorite Team?
Pierre was going stupid on kickoff
holy fucking shit winfield at 9:20 ish how the fuck did he dodge that guy so smoothly
The Vikings had such atrocious special teams coverage units back then. It's painful to watch...
What an error to blitz on 3rd and 17 at 18:25. Yes, why did the Vikings kick to Bush is one of the more obvious critiques from this game, but don't give Minnesota an opening here with seven minutes left in the game.
Bro ap didn’t have his knee down man if I can tell by watching a CZcams video and just slow it down them refs should know
Nor did the explanation of the review sound like any other review explanations. He sounded like he was telling an obvious lie. His hesitation and over justifying are mere coincidences.
😏 " Winning is a Brees "
The Vikings always seem to have The Saints number
My goodness Winfield and Griffin could hit, you don’t see corners smack rbs, tes, wrs etc like they did anymore
That was the most obvious facemask on Reggie, and bullshit non fumble by Peterson explanation I've ever heard in my life!
Antione Winfield use to just crack guys
6 tds!
Smashmouth days then
Christ this title aged like milk after today's game
Don’t dislike
This match is so unbelievably night and day compared to the NFC championship rematch The following season!
In that Game who's the one who plays excessively aggressive (Cough, Bounty-Gate!)? The saints do.
Who constantly shoots theirselves in the foot all game which unsurprisingly comes back to haunt them? That's right, Minnesota.
Who throws the game losing interception this time? Brett favre aka the Vikings quarterback at the time...
Last but not least, if Minnesota won this match up who do you think won the rematch in the NFC title game? YUP, it's the Saints...
Drew brees Fist will be missed😔
The Vikings defense is so bad now and then
Hi
It’s cute that you Vikings fans think y’all gonna wine
We’ve always been getting screwed by the refs
That’s not to say that we didn’t play poorly. You can’t turn the ball over that many times and expect to win at all. But the calls speak for themselves
I miss drew already!!
Sent the vikings ass back home to Minnesota Christmas day. Payback.
Lol the 2020 xmas win was payback for a 2008 regular season game? We've played each other 9 times since this game. The Saints won the next 4 meetings after this game including a NFCCG. Then it was a Vikings payback in the next 2 playoff games. But yeah, congrats, you steamrolled all the defensive players from our practice squad on xmas. I think one was a Walmart greeter the day before.
I aint gonna lie this was a good game but the NFC championship game was better
Which ref were you?
