    I see some real negativity in some comments these are suggestions! You know your baby more than anyone! Personally I started little feeding at 4 months and we've gradually been increasing her fruits and veggies. Also, she loves oatmeal. Sometimes she drinks a little less milk in the night. But she gets her 32oz of milk everyday. Remember just suggestions dont be rude..

    My little guy loves to move, he really likes being in his walker and scooting around and he’s trying to crawl. He can support himself sitting up for a short while but he moves around so much ends up falling over. Sometimes he will sleep through night and sometimes he’ll wake up in the middle of the night between 3 and 5.
    He’s got two teeth on his bottom gum right in the middle and he drools a lot and just about everything he grabs goes in his mouth.
    I’m constantly surprised everyday by how much he’s grown and developed and it blows my mind that he’s only been a part of this world for 5 months. Sometimes I feel like it’s been longer.

    My baby will be five months old in less than a week, and I am so psyched to have her start solids! She was born two weeks after her due date and seems to hit milestones a little early, so I am going to talk to her pediatrician tomorrow about starting her on solids. She's taller than most babies her age and has nursed once every hour during the day since she was less than a month old. It is hard on me (I have to eat like a horse to keep up!) so I welcome the extra calorie boost pureed foods might bring. And thank you for the suggestion, Channel Mum! I think I will look into classes on baby first aid.

    Baby is 5 months and one week and he is definitely meeting the milestones. He is able to sit without support and has two teeth at the bottom. He is still primarily breastfed, but I have started giving him solids for lunch and sometimes dinner. He is taking to them very well. I think I'll be able to fully weaned him by the end of 6 months. My only issue is, he is no longer sleeping through the night. From birth up to four and a half months, he slept perfectly and all through the night. But for the past few weeks now, he wakes up about two or three times a night. I'm not quite sure why, we haven't changed our nightly routine at all. So I'm not sure what to do differently. Any advice would be wonderful. Thank you.

He slept through from about 2 and a half months and then spent more or less all of his awake time drinking milk... that's why and the Health Visitors say a lot of things .. give it 3 years and they will probably have changed their minds again. It depends on who is getting paid from whom for what study

    • @slabbygabby
      @slabbygabby Před 4 lety +1

      Also do a strict bed time routine..betwen 6 and 7 30 every night.. bath and do last feed with light off. If you need to feed again in the night keep it dark and no playing or eye contact. Then choose a wake up time... keep it the same every day... if it's dark out.. put the light on... baby should be sleeping through in two weeks... if your baby has decent head control sleeping them on their front really works but it's not recommended because it is said to increase the risk of cot death.. But this is what I have done for both my kids 10 years apart...

      Tummy time with a rolled up blanket under him, he will balance himself and roll off and teach himself how to roll. You have to sit by him and talk him through it and kinda help the first few times but worked for my son, he hated it at first but hes rolling both ways now!! Also,have him lay on the blanket during tummy time, at the edge. Slowly start lifting the blanket and showing him how to roll over by liftimg him with the blanket onto his side and onto his back. Slowly and gently. These are just some tips I was taught that worked great for me and hopefully will for you too!!! Good luck!

    I would suggest you change the bit about weaning at 6 months. There are many women watching this that might wrongly take this advice. This is NOT recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics OR the World Health Organization. 6 months is when baby's starts trying solid foods (as an addition to the diet) but breast milk or formula is still the number one source of nutrition.

    • @Frengladeutschgirl
      @Frengladeutschgirl Před 5 lety +1

      This might just be a language barrier thing - the term 'weaning' here in the UK means starting to try purées/BLW as complementary feeding - it doesn't mean completely switching to solid food. The recommendation here also is to continue milk as the main source of nutrition for the first year of life.

      The best thing to do to help a baby strengthen thier neck is to sit the baby on you lap and sit them up with one hand holding there chest and the other hand massaging vertically on there back so they get a feel of what those muscles are for. i did it for both of my boys from birth and they are both really advanced ( doctors words not mines)

      I'm a dad with a 5 month old and our baby girl has been sleeping through the night since 3 months. What I found is two things that worked. You must get them into a pattern a pattern that is the same every time. For example we found our little one doesn't like to be downstairs after about 530PM. So we take her upstairs and taught her patterns of what would happen once we were there. We fed her twice within the next two hours and trained her that the last feeding meant bedtime. We bought an Abreeze baby lounger from Amazon and put it between my wife and I. That thing is only about 50 bucks and worth every penny as it helped us to train her into the pattern of feeding then bed. We only put her into that bed when its bedtime. This allowed her to understand that once in there it was bedtime. I know some people talk about not co sleeping because it will cause issues down the road with the crib but just like this pattern the crib can be taught in increments. Our baby sleeps right through the night without issue. She feels safe and happy and I can tell you there is nothing like waking up in the middle of the night and looking over at your baby sound asleep.

    Why do you think a baby should be weaned at 5 months. That’s a horrible thing to do to a growing infant. I hope you do some research about this.

    Does weaning mean something different in the UK than here I the states cause.... you should breast feed your baby for as long as possible. You give baby food on top of breast milk. Odd

    There is no reason a four month old baby shouldn’t be sleeping through the night. Or at least have the ability to sleep through the night. If they’re not sleeping through the night it’s because they need to be “trained” to do so. Routines, sometimes the Ferber method works if you’re okay with it, etc. there are ways. But basically/virtually all four month olds can sleep through the night. If they wake up for a nighttime feed it’s either cause they’re not eating enough before bed or because they just want you. As much as that seems sweet(cause it is) y’all gonna be sleep deprived as fuck if you don’t teach baby to sleep through the night soon. And being sleep deprived doesn’t allow you to be the best mom you could ever be. 🤷‍♀️

      Flower Annan sleep train a 4 month old??? Are you serious? Every baby is different. Some sleep all night and others don’t. My baby goes to bed at 730 and wakes up at midnight for milk and again at 530am for a second milk. This is perfectly normal. He is on solids and still wakes up for night feedings. My mother in law said my husband was a big eater and he eventually outgrew it.
