    Great video! Would have been interesting to see what the readings from the pin probe would have been with the wet brick.

    The regular surveying companies confirm rising damp and with associated works cost up to £700 per linear metre . As you note this is not a doc problem in most cases. Often it is the specialist render/plaster repair finishes that actually resolve the problem so they get away with it..

    Thanks Neil these are brilliant videos, looking forward to further ones on damp.
    Can i ask, will you be discussing microwave moisture meters?
    I have read about these somewhere and it is claimed that they are not influenced by any salts in the wall, so in theory they could give a more indicative reading of any damp that is present.
