How To Replace Leaking Power Steering Rack and Pinion Assembly

It was my second time to replace this Power Steering Rack and Pinion assembly due to having crack on rack and pinion housing. The assembly was a refurbished once as the owner does not want to put more cash on his car. As Holden cars in Australia has been halted the production due to high cost of materials, parts and labour.

Hello from Russia, bro, you are a good specialist, but let me note that hammering the steering rack with a hammer is not the best idea, if you want to save rods and ball bearings when replacing steering racks, then I will use pullers of steering rods,ball bearings and steering tips, they do not cost a lot of money, they will help faster and more efficiently Get the job done!😊

I have a 1999 VT Wagon too, it was stolen and recovered and a couple of days, They were seen doing donuts and when the car was found the power steering fluid was empty and leaking. I Believe the rack is destroyed. Do you know where I can get a reco one? And I am in Victoria too
