  • Modified a stock 4G63 valve cover to add larger ports ports for the PCV system. While doing that I removed the stock baffles and welded in the Raven Fab aluminum baffles. These help keep the oil from filling up the CatchCan to fast by blocking the oil but allowing the air to escape through the larger AN ports.

You couldn't order these battles pre welded from that manufacturer? It would save you time and hassles of setting it up and welding it together but for you have access to a tig and have the skills to weld.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the benefit of installing these baffles when the VC was already baffled from the factory? Is it just so you can drill and install the AN breathers and get all the metal shavings out of there, then install the new baffles?

When I drill the holes for the AN fittings there are aluminum shavings that could fall behind the factory baffles. Some think it is impossible to clean these shavings out and eventually they will find their way into the oil. So I remove the factory baffles. Drill out the holes for the AN fittings. Clean all shavings out of the inside of the valve cover. Weld in the aluminum ones which just replace the factory ones.
You can't reuse the factory ones because they are steal. As you see in the video I had to drill into the aluminum to get the factory baffle out.

@@TheTurboDad I don’t see the point to weld the AN fittings on the stock placement, but to each their own. Everything looks good, those baffles are tricky to weld. I like closing the stock location for the breathers, and weld the some low profile AN fittings on top so the hood doesn’t have a problem closing and you are not the only one having problems welding the cast aluminum on those valve cover.

One of the best things I did for my hobby of building my cars was learn to weld. I encourage you to learn tig welding. Youll be amazed at the amount of things you'll be able to do yourself with that skill.

There was one slit on the baffle you didn’t use. Does anything go there? I got the same baffle kit and getting mine welded this week

I have used this kit and I always use every single piece, but now Im trying to re use the oem baffles I have done it before. I do weld my fittings a lot different and seal the oem holes to make it nice and clean.
