If you like those 2 (especially KSP) then I think you'll LOVE Stationeers! It's still in very active development too with lots of new features (they had to take a while to refactor the code so releases went quiet for a few months but it is now back to weekly updates) and responsive devs which is nice.

I have recently (yesterday) started to play Stationeers. Your videos have been very helpful. One thing I would ask you to consider changing to your standard startup is the placement of the initial solar panel flat pack (and the first few other ones). I have found that it works out pretty well to put the first one up on top of one of the solid blocks on either side of the airlock. I put them back to the edge against the glass top with the power pointed to the "deck" area. The initial power controller then goes high on the wall accessed from the deck area. I put the battery charger just past that; but in future runs I might put it in before the power controller so the controller's battery doesn't get drained just charging the other batteries. Once you can make more flat solar panels, there is room for four of them in a row up there with minimal cable to connect them to everything else. I also run the power through the bottom of that block branching off to power the airlock and going just inside the glass room. I have not gotten fully "stable" yet; but I only have three panels up and I am able to keep my batteries charged and smelt/built for expansion (so far). I know I will need more power; but it feels that it uses minimal amounts of cables and saves on deck space... Thoughts?
Thank you for your efforts and content...

Yes putting the panel on that frame is a good set up, and I use it on my recent remake of the getting started video - thanks for the feedback
In terms of batteries I usually try to put an APC with a battery in each airlock and put them downstream of the main battery so that they're the last thing to run out of power fails - makes sure I don't get locked in!

Hey Murk, what mod do you use for the Ores, cuz you get quite alot while mining.

  • @Voidheartd

I had to use 4 volatiles and 2 oxite to get it hot enough to get the steel. With only 2 and 1 it cooled just before I could eject the steel.

Hi! Great vids! Which ore mod do you use?

I _was_ using this one: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1876444353
However, later in the playthrough I turn it off because it started causing errors after Nitrice was added (which also turned out to be why I couldn't find any), and eventually they would cover my whole screen on startup!
Right now (I'm up to episode 45) I'm not using one at all, but it does make mining a S-L-O-W job!
