I agree with everyone suggesting Spike for a name. Sticking with The Land Before Time theme is awesome. All of my reptiles pretty much have a name from a favourite character or something that just really suits them, like my crestie Stucko. She was found on the ceiling as a hatchling, on the complete opposite side of the room the tank was on.
If I were to get a chelonian, I'd probably get a black breasted leaf turtle or a pink bellied side neck turtle. We have 3 at my work and they are the funniest things ever and so entertaining

I appreciate that root structure holding all that substrate together too! People here in the Okanagan built their houses on bare sand cliffs, and those cliffs don’t have much greenery, so they’re coming tumbling down! I’m waiting for a house on one of those sand cliffs to go next!

My experience with Eurydactylodes eggs is that they do much better in the parents' bioactive substrate. Mainly I find that the momma gecko knows what she's doing and picks a spot with good humidity and protection. Another big part though might be the isopods in the tank. The eggs I leave in the tank never get a speck of mold and once I actually put one in that I'd been incubating externally that developed a bit of mold, and they cleaned it off but left the egg intact. I do make sure to always have pieces of cuttlebone in the tank too so that the isopods always have an easy source of calcium (and hopefully won't go for the yummy calcified eggshells.)

Welcome, new cute turtle. I don't really have a name suggestion, but read through the comments and liked e.g. Chomper (and gave some comments also a like :) ). Good luck for successful future breeding and that there may be a baby in one of those eggs. Sleep well in hybernation, all turtles. 🐢🍀🍀
It's really unfortunate that 2 out of the 3 eggs laid went bad :( but super interesting that the isopods cleaned the remaining egg of mold and it's showing signs that it's still a good egg and developing! How close is the remaining egg to the estimated hatch date?
With how large the eggs are I'm assuming they only lay 1-2 eggs per season? Can they double clutch?
These are fascinating turtles. I'm hoping that in the coming year autumn will put on some growth and decide to breed with her 3 eligible bachelor's!

I really know very little about breeding Turtles or about this species in particular, but I have general animal behavioral background, enough to trust my Intuition or to speak my intuition to other folks that do similar. I noticed as far as Autumn goes that you put the male in with her and she instantly reacted negatively. Maybe try putting her in the male's enclosure or try setting up a much larger enclosure to pair them up in. It will be a situation where she could get away if she'd want to and if you made it a neutral space but neither of them lived in regularly it might help. You could put their normal bins one on either side of the larger one and give it time for them to get used to the smells and then put them in the middle preferably an enclosure that was at least three times this amount of floor space than your regular setups. I get that they don't need a lot of space but you are enclosures are actually quite small and I wonder if she feels cornered without inviting somebody in or something like that . I've seen this with some of my breeding efforts that the females keep a home territory and the males roam around. Just some thoughts.

Q.O.T.D- you could name him Elliot to go along with E.T. Soon as I think of that name I just think of E.T's voice saying it lol. If not definitely T.L.B.T theme as others have suggested- spike sounds good but honestly ita probably a pretty common name , bc of T.L.B.T or b/c basically every reptile has some sort of spikes etc. Thanks for sharing these, amazing little creatures! I have those same bins and mine don't do that. Maybe it's from the uvb/ heat if you use heat 4 these guys bc I believe they like it cooler? Idk if that makes sense but just thinking bc the sun does make plastic and other materials brittle so maybe it's doing that sorta thing w the bins? Just a thought. Hope 2 see an update on these guys prior to their brumation or maybe a mixed video so you only have 2 do one video on them? Do you dust any of their food or anything? Btw: why is yoda a girl? Maybe you thought it was originally thought a boy? Maybe try different incubation mediums? Also, try with isopods or springtails? Maybe its the springtails? Idk sry for all of the questions. What would be a great beginner pet in your opinion I really want a reptile but don’t know where to start
The classic reptiles for beginners are crested geckos, leopard geckos, corn snakes, or ball pythons. Not only do we have really clear ideas of how to care for them properly, their care needs arent too tricky to manage for beginners.
Id suggest seeing if a reptile rescue near you has any of those available, or see if anyone is rehoming a healthy animal.
Ive had leopard and fat tailed geckos, a corn snake, and have pet sat sooo many great reptiles. The beginners are classics for good reason - theyre hardy, but also often the most social. 😊

Why not use black bins instead? Walmart has nice sturdy heavy duties ones..I use them for my bettas for breeding, CALL HIM RAIDEN since it's from Vietnam
I know, right?! I really should, but I don't like how dark they are. They don't let any light in from the sides, so it's so dark... I know that material would hold up against the uvb though. I think the next move is to rehouse them each into a glass tank soon/within the year. Fun name!
