    To answer the question, so many things. What isn’t there to love about bio active?? I love keeping and growing all sorts of plants so obviously those two things go hand in hand not to mention keeping and caring for all sorts of animals ❤😂 I starting building my first natural background for a paladarium I’m setting up for my red eye tree frogs, seeing them in their most natural environment, or as best as I can make it, you truly get the most out of your animals. Lastly, I used to be really into insects and isopods as a kid, so getting back into isopods is bringing me back to my youth! Also helping me get over my fear of bugs that I developed 😂

    QOTD: my favorite part of building naturalistic/bioactive enclosures for my herps has to be the psychological aspect that follows moving them in. It's so exciting and rewarding to see your animals utilize their new homes, and even more so, the confidence boost that you get from providing such awesome homes for your animals is amazing. It's just extra rewarding to be able to provide excellent enclosures to them, so that's an amazing part of it.

    To me, a natural, bio active enclose just looks so much better! I'm hoping to go full bio active with my tokay this summer and start planning to go bio with my Apalachicola King soon after.

      Go for it! You'll be so happy you did! It's not the best for every individual animal but for most it unlocks a whole new experience of keeping!

    love the content reptiliatus keep up the amazing work,would you recommend these snakes to a beginner?

    • @Reptiliatus
      @Reptiliatus  Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you very much! I appreciate your support! Personally, I wouldn't recommend them as beginner snakes due to their finicky start as babies (not wanting to eat anything but live fish). If you get your hands on a juvenile they aren't too bad. You just have to keep them and their water very clean because they like to poop in it and it quickly leads to scale infections. They need cooker temps which is pretty easy and cost-effective.

    Just wondering
    Ik maybe it's hard to find large enclosures or it's expensive
    But i feel like maybe you should save money to build your own enclosure that's much larger to allow them to feel like they are truly in their natural habitat

    New here! What are those packets that you put into all of the enclosures? I’m assuming they are beneficial mites, and if so, do you find they work??

    • @Reptiliatus
      @Reptiliatus  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Welcome! Those are thripex mites. Essentially they are biological pest control that help remove plant pests but don't harm my animals.

  • @dtw1622
    @dtw1622 Před 3 měsíci

    Aren't those enclosures a wee bit small for them as well??

    • @Reptiliatus
      @Reptiliatus  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Personally, I don't think so but regardless, its a bit of musical tanks! They have a very large build in the works for them to move into as adults and I will likely moving them into 18x18x24's before that too haha.
