Exactly what i needed to see. I've successfully disconnected the gas line in preparation for a new range. It was pretty tight but not ridiculous, Definitely use two wrenches, Thanks, Lech.

Thanks for the thorough yet concise and clear instructions. Follow up question is, if you are planning to put in an induction or ceramic/glass electric range after the gas range removal, what should you do with that gas line? Have the local gas utility come out, or could a plumber make it safe (assuming you still need gas to your house for HVAC and water heater, but the same question applies if you got a heat pump and still had a gas range)?

If you need to remove it. You could. Have to turn off main gas shut of valve by the meter. Remove the pipe and cap it. Plumber should be enable to

Is it necessary to remove if you a replacing with an induction stove, or is it okay to simply turn off valve?

Awesome tutorial! Do I need to replace the yellow tape on the threading when I put the oven back? I’m just taking it out to clean rather than replacing with a different model

Wherever you had sealant or threading tape yes do it. Crush washers no, but make sure in good condition if reusing same hose. Ofcourse check for leaks at the end.

Wouldn't it matter above the valve . How do you know the valve is working if you Don't install a new stove but only remove the old one??

Check for leaks to make sure working correctly after removal.

You don't use liquid to check for gas Leak That's not professional You have to use a ga leak detector You are not Licensed equalified 🎉
