1 year ago a man put out a simple yet informative video for those who wanted to complete a simple yet daunting task. As of today I too have completed this task with the confidence that I will not blow my house up. Thanks for a clean and to the point video.
And thats how you do a clean no non-sense, to the point how to do video.
Thanks!
Exactly. No background music, no annoying intro, no logo overlay. But I’ll let the subscribe and ring the bell reference slide because there might be a newbie to CZcams and this is the first video they are ever watching and don’t know how to subscribe. :)
Bought my parents a new stove and I had to install it myself. Well this video made it easy peasy. Wouldn't have figured out the adapter situation had I not watched this. Thank you!!!
Awesome! Glad we could help! You sound like a great daughter!
Did you have to buy the adapter or did it come with the stove?
You’ll have to buy it separately.
You’ll have to buy it separately.
Just a note there are three types of adapters in different sizes that allow you to connect your gas line to stove/oven.
For example, the newer yellow gas line has its own adapter it comes with BUT you need to change your gas line stem/cap- it will not connect .
The old silver gas line as shown in the video has its own adapter which you can buy to attach your NEW stove. Go to your Home Depot and they will find the right piece it’s $5-6. So you don’t need to change your gas stem/switch line.
Thank you and every awesome person like you that posts "Howto" videos that help the rest of us. You people are truly great.
Thank you! This fully explains why Lowes wanted $354 to do this job and why I can't justify spending over half again as much as the range for this simple procedure.
Because big Corp pay premium insurance incase sub contractors does blow up a customer home lol
That "egg in a hole" concoction your daughter was making we used to call "Egg in the nest" when we were young-uns.
Thank you for this video. You just saved me $200. I going to watch your daughter cooking show. I love seeing the next generation. With new ideas
Literally the title hooked me in immediately! 😂 that’s exactly what I want to do
An excellent 'how to ' video. My gas stove needed to be replaced. Had never done this before and the step by step directions were superb. Thank you.
Just curious did you also have the shut off valve for the gas behind your stove? Ty
Yes. The gas valve to the gas line was directly on the other side of the wall. The location of the valve is not as important as having the stove line properly hooked up to the gas line.
Excellent! Concise and loved how you plugged your daughters cooking show...adorable
I have the same exact stove. The manufacturer says to place a wrench on the inlet nut on the other side of the regulator when tightening the supply line. This will ensure that there is no stress placed on the inlet valve. Just my 2 cents, but a very informative video.
Almost gave up finding a video I could actually follow and understand!! This was PERFECT!! As a single Mom, DIY is a must, but was scared out of my mind to deal with a gas line! This video kept things simple and calmed my nerves!! Thank you so much!!
FYI for those finding this now, you DO NOT use pipe dope on a flare fitting. It can interfere with the fitting seating properly and actually cause a leak. I can see in this video he did use it on that fitting as well but didn't mention it. Don't use it, its designed to be used without tape or dope.
Why do they put it in a bundle... Up selling cheating muddasuckas
By pipe dope do you mean the sealant?
Remember kids, they call it dope for a reason.

There were many How-To’s but it was this one that fully illustrated the “not blowing up your house” point, and that’s why I watched.
We aim to serve!
Thanks, dude! We just moved into an apartment that had a neglectful occupant. There is a sketchy stove here, and the oven won't even turn on. I saw a nice unit, but I was a bit concerned about safety. This video has removed *layers* of concern! 💯
Love the hand guide razorblade use. Classic dad DIY move.
Great vid! Maybe also turn gas on and off after shutting gas on old stove to clear any residual gas and give urself peace of mind
Cool video was actually a little nervous about replacing my stove this weekend lol. Especially with the gas don't want to blow my house up thank you for the content . Have a good weekend and stay safe Jimmy from Massachusetts
You are very helpful and easy to follow your instructions.
Thank you for your time and efforts and it’s appreciated.
Thank you for your great assistance video. Only issue was the gas piping adapter. Lowes only carried 1/2"-1/2" or 3/4"-3/4"; and, my existing line was 3/4" with the stove having a 1/2". needed a 3/4"-1/2" adapter. Before viewing your video, I tried to remove the adapter from my 18+ year old slide-in range and couldn't get it to budge. After viewing your video and finding the problem at Lowes, I returned home and tried to remove it again. Since the oven ignitor had outlived its life, I exerted enough pressure to get it off. Cleaned the adapter and reinstalled. Worked perfectly thanks to your video assistance.
Great video, and awesome getting the family involved.
Thank you, do it yourself, dad. I'm putting in a new stoyesterday, and this is helping me tremendouslee. Keep doing what you're doing
Thanks for this - clear, safe and easy to follow.
Thank you! I'm installing one tomorrow by myself and this helped me so much!!!!
Super good video. This is the most thorough installation video I've seen
Always put in new hose. Reason is they are compression fitting and one use only for safety critical applications. Reusing compression fittings is asking for trouble, whether it is gas line or water line. Hilarious that video title says how not to blow up the house
Change the hose. It is better to be safe than sorry
I was just trying to decide whether to change out the hose. Glad I saw your comment. Here's to not blowing up the house. Thx.
Where I'm from they have to be changed every 5 years anyway
I bought a hose adapter kit for mine and it came with an auto gas shutoff adapter. Are these necessary?
that is amazing. I literally just got the same stove and have to hook it up. Glad I found this channel
Awesome!
Thank you soooo much!!! I just bought a stove and was about to install it❤
Great video! Gonna install the exact same stove tomorrow, thanks for the video.
Thread sealant is a great idea but do not use white Teflon tape for gas.....use the yellow Teflon made for gas.
I 2nd that learned that in the pipe fitters union
What about oates great white pipe joint compound with ptfe?
do not use tape , even the yellow , check local codes...
Tape or not to tape? That is the question...
Just had this conversation with the plumber who redid my gas line yesterday. Do NOT use regular plumbers tape. The natural gas will dissolve it over time and can cause leaks. You must use the tape specifically made for gas. (yellow).
You are great at giving info to me and everybody else
All the other videos I've seen on this made me think I should just pay someone the $300... but, after your video I will attempt the installation my self in my new construction home. Seems simple enough, really is plug and play.
Thank you for this video! It was massively helpful.
I enjoyed this video, ordering a new gas range myself soon! Thank you!
Thank you! You delivery was awesome!
This video is very much appreciated. Thanks!
Thank you for this awesome video. Very helpful!
Great job, father and daughter. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Thought you "had" to replace old flex line?
Thanks for sharing. Looks easier than I thought. I subscribed. ❤
Subscribed dude, amazing narration, straight to the point.. Loved the video.
Thanks, I just got a new stove, and the gas line scares me. This helps me alot.
Thank you very much. It is very easy to follow up. 😃
This is a great video! You made us feel like we could do it too!
Your video was very helpful,
Thank you 😀
Im about to do this. Wish me luck!
Thank youm always good to review before attempting to do this yourself
This is super helpful. Thank you
very simple video!
getting nervous Best Buy will not be showing up to install our new range so prepping if I need to tell them to just drop it off and I'll handle the hook up!
Very straight forward without the needless comedy or small talk. Good Job!
This was helpful thank you!
The se one you put the cushion on the feet of the stove I gained confidence in this video! Hahah
I thought I had to look this up lol this is easy as pie
Easy to follow! Thanks!
1:05 great idea! 3:04 lots of great ideas thank you!
Use a 2nd wrench to hold the flare fitting while you tighten the flex connector to keep it from spinning
Thanks for the video
Egg part was the best, 😆.
Thanks
Very informative and entertaining!
Thank you man.. this was soo much help👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you, you just saved me 150 bucks.
Awesome! Glad we could help!
Wife wants a new stove and we’re planning on buying. I’m paranoid cause I have no clue what I’m doing. This video was very very helpful and easy to follow.
Thanks again !!
Yea, I am in the exact same boat. Just bought one, it comes in Thursday. I will try and replace it. Looks easy enough, thanks
Right! no one wants to blow the F up lol
You still alive
Thank you, 👍🏿
Very good job. Awesome video
Thanks dad!
Simple video, helped me a bunch
Glad we could help!
Cool video. I already have a yellow gas line to hook up my new stove to, but I'm not sure if I'll need an adapter and I'd rather not buy a kit full of adapters as well as the gas line I already have. I'd prefer to buy just the adapter if it's available and I need it.
Very informative thanks
That’s how easy it is to do in every house 🏡 !! Woow never knew that
Great video 💕
Thanks!
Great video! Thanks!
Thanks I needed this information
Great video!
Great information
Great video sir!!!!
Thank you
Good job!
Thanks!
First time ever doing this thanks u made it simple
Wish I would’ve seen this video before I blew up my house!
Man is a legend. Now i dont have to worry about my house blowing up!👍👍
Great Video.
Thanks!
How do I know what size adapter I need for the gas line?
Always a good idea to put the pipe dope on the fittings for gas lines.
Very helpful!
Hey Kaylee!!! I thought I was the ONLY one that knew the egg in the hole sandwich! 😛
Nice video and you have the same range as I do! I want to install a longer (72") supply line and I think that I need a 5/8" (outside diameter) line for that. Do you remember off the top of your head the appliance gas inlet diameter? I could look but I would have to crawl over my counter and down behind the range. I don't want to do that more times than I have too because I'm old and lazy too I guess. Thanks for the video!
Thanks man
Well done. Good video
Thank you!
thank you sooooooo much
Kool ,thanks dad
Do you have a video on checking the gas oven after installing
Great thanks n appreciated
Need some assistance, and cannot find a solid answer. What about bypassing obstructions close to the stove when installing? Do you use flared fittings or male pipe threads/elbows north of the flexible connector?
Good Video.
Nice job guy 👍😃
Thanks!
thank you sir
You’re welcome!
Thanks for the video and 👍
Thank you!
