    I was prescribed Azithromycin 1000MG for my Chlamydia.
    Symptoms went away within a week, but came back like 4 weeks later. Just got tested 2 days ago and indeed i still have chlamydia.

    • @hawkshealth
      @hawkshealth  Před rokem +3

      Yes, the treatment guidelines changed around 12 months ago. All individuals should abstain from intercourse for at least 7 days after the completion of the antibiotic regimen. This is to ensure the full elimination of chlamydia from the system and to ensure the person treated does not infect another person.

      @@hawkshealth doesnt really make sense doc. If doxy cures the infection within 7 days, why wait another 7 more days?

    • @georgegatti1
      @georgegatti1 Před rokem +1

      I believe antibiotics have what is called half life. So if you take antibiotics for 7 days they can still be effective for an additional day or two allowing additional time to heal from the infection.

    • @hawkshealth
      @hawkshealth  Před rokem +2

      Everybody's body is different and each person reacts to doxycycline differently. Overall, 7 days is enough time to treat chlamydia, but the additional 7 days of wait time ensures that people do not get reinfected or infect another person in case they are still contagious.

    • @hawkshealth
      @hawkshealth  Před 3 měsíci

      Medical professionals rarely use the words cure or kill (inappropriate medical terminology in the healthcare field) when managing diseases. Providers “treat” diseases. Some diseases resolve and some diseases don’t sometimes. Using the word “cure” while undergoing treatment is not appropriate as there is no guarantee a treatment will work. The only way to determine if something is cured is to retest someone. Yet medications to treat chlamydia are highly effective and doesn’t require a test of cure nor is it indicated. Hope that makes sense. Take care!

    Can self masturbation while on medications cause reinfection?

    • @hawkshealth

      That is very unlikely to occur, but should be avoided overall.

      @@hawkshealth okay. So, I was prescribed 500mg Azithromycin, 4 dose, to be taking once and Docxycycline 100mg for 7 days. I've finished medications about a week now and I still feel burning pee and itching in the urethra although initial pain in the testicles are no longer severe. What can I do?
      Please, do reply to this. Thanks.

    Can we have sex using condoms during the treatment.

    • @hawkshealth

      Although condoms help significantly with reducing the chances of spread, it is not 100%. So it is best to avoid intercourse until 7 days after the completion of antibiotics per the current STD treatment guidelines.

    Best treatment for any medical condition? Leave the USA 🇺🇸 doctors outside of America only want to see you once you will get 2 shots and 3 different types of antibiotics all for $75 and they don’t ever ask you to come back again and again to be milked out of more money. You will be cured by the next morning I’m talking from my own experiences

      That’s not good healthcare… Over prescribing antibiotics causes antibiotic resistance. Additionally, if a follow up is indicated by the provider it is always wise to follow up. I’ve practiced in other regions of the world and the US is near the top. There is a reason other countries come to the USA to train.
