Anyone who watched the colts last year knows the colts pass rush sucked. So many times we didn't even come close to the qb. We desperately needed someone like him. Definitely going to help the secondary
Totally agree… I was really confused people were mad at the pick.
All those years of band aid Qbs hurt us because we weren’t good enough to win in the playoffs but we did just good enough to pick in the 20s and all the stud edge guys were gone this was the year we don’t need Qb and we had the first pick of the defense without trading up to 5 or 6 where they usually go super happy even if he doesn’t work out the decision to go edge was correct.

@@damonr4136 for sure or they didn’t watch the whole game where you can really feel the momentum and see its effect on the field. I have fallen into that trap just watching highlights before.
I think Laiatu Was A Crucial piece that was addressed. The Colts Now Have A Guy To where The CBs dont have to go very far before he gets to the QB

I like Latu pick, but not to be a downer until the secondary starts upholding there end its gonna be hard for this defensive front to play their full potential. With that being said, Latu speed will be great since we don't blitz.
Most of the time a good pass rush brings good play out of your secondary
@@aaronpalmer2549i would agree with you but we've had Freeney and Mathis but our pass defense was trash until Bob Sanders and Antoine Bethea came into their own
D-line is incredibly deep. Even if they keep 10 bodies I see potentially 10 starters in there. It will be interesting who they keep who gets cut I imagine Titus and adebare among others
I really like Latu, but we don't "know" anything yet, the only thing that matters is production and he hasn't played a snap yet, what are we talking about
I would like to see the following analysis of last year...
What is the average time from snap to sack, and what's the std deviation look like.
My eyeball test would tell me that the std deviation would be relatively low.
What that would mean would be,there is some amount of "time to throw" that is pretty consistent. Defenses wpuld be able to figure that out, so if that time is 3s, as example, you could run plays that you expect to throw before 3s and there would be very few cases where Colts would be able to sack that QB.
What do we do with Samson Ebukam ?
My opinion, he's the starter opposite Latu on any passing down as he's a better pass rusher than Paye
