    In 2019 Cory attempted a new route on Everest unassisted by Sherpas, due to weather condition he and his climbing partner managed to get to around 7.700 meters. Cory has summited twice before, first time with no supplementary oxygen and the year later with supplementary oxygen. He is still the only American climber to have summited an 8000 meter peak in Winter (G2 in Pakistan). Also, he is a National Geographic photographer, activist and advocate for important matters such as mental health. The watch is absolutely stunning and it is my grail too.

    What’s most impressive from a design stand point are all the subtle sculpted and angular references to the logo. From the crown and bezel angles to the chamfered case edges and strap buckle. Truly a well thought out piece of art that’s a tribute to the brand.

    Called three different Boutiques, sold out. Probably the only overseas I wanted to own. Dealings with the Boutique have surprisingly been quite spectacular, no pompousness or arrogance, no demand for "Purchase History", they were honest and upfront - said there weren't simply enough and each boutique has an allocation amount, which is really only about 2-3 watches. They did, however, mention that they aren't expecting deliveries any time soon, and so even the buyers who have put down a deposit were informed in advance that there will be some time until their watches arrive. They also informed me that should a buyer drop-out (unlikely), it will just be allocated to whoever is next on the list and they had already a significant list which far exceeds their allocation limit. Cheers for the video, congratulations on having enjoyed one!

    Great video and review, you are 100% right about this watch and VC. I am hoping my AD comes up with one for me. I brought the VC Overseas Chronograph blue dial just before they became really popular. If you like understated quality of the highest order then VC is for you, my Rolex for 1/2 the price gets noticed more, but the VC only attracts attention by watch enthusiasts, not crooks. Adrian, I also brought a complete second set of bracelets/straps etc for my watch eg SS bracelet. VC are more than happy to help you tailor the watch to you requirements - you can buy additional leather straps etc etc. Imagine buying a new Daytona and the AD also asking if you would like to purchase an additional band or a Jubilee bracelet. VC watches are so versatile and once you wear one, you really get to appreciate the quality of these watches. People need to remember Rolex make 1,000,000 watches p/a VC make approx 20,000. VC are much rarer.

    There’s very few ultra luxury watches that fall into a genuine tool watch category. To be able to wear a 1 of 150 watch and treat in such regard is a dream only 150 people can actually do and the rest of us dream of (but I suspect 150 of those purchases wouldn’t treat is as a sports watch). That in itself makes the watch a big contradiction, none the less a genuinely perrrrfect watch!

    I have a Gen 2 Deepstream and this piece definitely draws from the Deepstream family vibe with the darker colors and the titanium bezel. Check out the 47450 if you like the dual time concept or the 47040 if you like a basic, clean 3-hander. Love this Everest line and would like a 3-hander non-limited edition in this color scheme.

    Great video. Probably can just sell one of the steel Rolex’s to get this beauty… and it is a beauty.
    Vacheron- when they nail it, they NAIL it. This is the ultimate sports watch and something to be worn a lot. Another great example of VC killing it in a category - the Cornes de Vache dress watch.
    Great stuff and way cooler than a Rolex. Just my opinion.

    • @cecaju9516

      This retails for double the price of any steel Rolex and will probably sell on the secondary market for double that amount. Limited edition, boutique model. You would need to have a long purchase history with VC to even be considered for one.

    • @marcgirard7551
      @marcgirard7551 Před 2 lety

      @@cecaju9516 true, but any steel Rolex sells for than double retail on the secondary market which brings them in line with the VC. I was speaking to Adrian’s case specifically… he has it right there and reviewed it. I’m pretty sure VC would connect him with one at retail.

    • @cecaju9516
      @cecaju9516 Před 2 lety

      @@marcgirard7551 comparing VC retail to Rolex secondary is a bit unfair. Rolex deserves criticism for not controlling their AD network and contributing to the ridiculous situation with the availability and secondary market pricing of their SS sports models. My point is that VC and other brands are no better. This VC sells for $38.3k retail and will probably end up selling for $60-$80k on the secondary market

    I think Adrian nailed it in this review. This watch successfully synthesises 'genuine tool-watch' and 'high horology watchmaking' more so than anything I've seen from Patek, Lange or AP. Some of Blancpain''s Fifty-Fathoms kind of pull this off too. But this VC is half a rung higher than a FF. It's an amazing watch (and yeah, aesthetically it's very 'Adrian':-D)

    It’s an amazing piece but $37,000/$31,000 respectively (chrono/dual time) for a rubber strap withOUT a Titanium bracelet is incredibly expensive IMO. But oh man do I love the rotor, such a classy touch that adds to the limited exclusivity. These are some serious haute-horology “sports” and no joke low-key baller pieces

Was lucky enough to recently get an new overseas blue dial after 6 months on the waiting list from the AD. I love the Overseas, it’s a spectacular watch. I find myself wearing it on the rubber strap more than my other watches. Not sure the AD would allocate me two overseas in the same year. Before that I better start figuring out how to pay for it! Maybe a go fund me.
