    My Wife refuses to discuss any of her problems or symptoms with her OBGYN, almost like she is afraid to risk discussing it. No desire, no libido, numb genitalia, hot flashes - painful sex (when we used to have it 8+ years ago) - weight gain, anxiety, passive suicidal ideation, etc.. It's killing our relationship - but she seems depressed and against addressing anything to alleviate the issues. We are on year 15 of sex once a year and nothing for 8. Won't even kiss she is just devoid of everything (depression or hormone imbalance).

      So sorry you’re both going through this. Menopause is often a difficult time for spouses too. Depression and anxiety are huge issues for menopausal women that are often treated with . . . “Here’s a prescription for Zoloft.” The root problem with all menopause symptoms - low libido, anxiety, depression, weight gain, vaginal dryness and painful sex - is the loss of hormones. It’s not a Zoloft deficiency. I hope your wife can gain the courage to seek help from someone who knows how to optimize her hormones. It does make a very real difference.

      @@SimpleHormones Yeah it's Prozac - 80mg daily for migraine prevention for 20 years. And it robs you of your libido (lessened hers drastically, and no warnings were given about it at all - especially back then). When her hormones started dropping in Peri - I have a theory that the combination was just enough to kill her libido and it's been a sh*t show ever since.

      Doctors are so quick to give us anxiety or depression meds ! It’s infuriating. My PCP said “why don’t yu stop HRT and I’ll give yu anxiety meds” I said…for what ? I’m not depressed nor do I have anxiety. I was so angry. Stay in your lane PCP , not your specialty is what I wanted to tell him.
      Thank you for this video.

      @@Karikk72 I agree that too many women have been misled or outright lied to about menopause. It’s not a problem of too little Paxil, Zoloft, or Prozac. The ROOT PROBLEM is, without question, the loss of hormones. No amount of herbs, yoga, dietary changes, dressing in layers, or ANTIDEPRESSANTS is going to solve menopause. Hormone optimization is The Menopause Solution.

      @@SimpleHormones thank yu ! My PCP also told me I didn’t need B12, Vitamin D or magnesium. Every single thing I have read and seen about menopause states that these three supplements are needed for menopausal women. Vitamin D 2000iu daily, magnesium 100mg daily, sublingual B12 1000mcg daily.

    I'm well past menopause, but have so many of the symptoms U mentioned here. Docs say don't do it because it can cause a heart attack.
    I feel taking a low dose with a patch might B a safer way to do some hormones.
    I already take DHEA, Wild Yam & Pregneonone.
    I am sad to not take compounded hormones & scared to take them with my heart issues..
    Maybe I can try some as a patch at a safe level.
    I am in Santa Monica,Ca.

    Do you know if x-ray machines at airports damage E2 patches? I recently went on a long trip and my box of patches went through security check machines 6 times. When I came back, they don't work to relieve my hot flashes even at a higher dose. No information on this online.

    Hi Steve, I am getting some HRT! But at 70 years, they proscribe me 1 mg estradiol, 100 progesterone, 5 DHEA. Is that enough estradiol to help my bones?? It seems so low. I had a blood test. I didn’t have any hormones, a tiny bit of estrogen. I just thought I would ask you if that sounds normal.I’m going to a compound pharmacy. 😊😊

    Hi Steve,
    I’ve been taking bio hormones for years, and I’m 64 now. I take estrogen daily and progesterone for two weeks every month. What I want to know is if you think cycling them is safe, or do you think daily dosing of both estrogen and progesterone should be recommended instead. Or does it matter? Thanks 😊

    • @SimpleHormones
      @SimpleHormones  Před 3 měsíci +2

      That’s certainly an approach some providers take. Cycling progesterone is safe. But it also means you’re going a couple weeks every month without its benefits. Progesterone is extremely helpful for depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Many women on cyclic progesterone struggle with sleep in the nights when they don’t take it. It’s true that the natural progesterone rhythm is cyclical. Not necessarily bad but it has some major disadvantages.

    • @daisymae749
      @daisymae749 Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you 🙏 Steve. Since progesterone causes me sleeplessness, fatigue, heart palpitations, and pain throughout my body, I cycle versus taking it everyday which would cause me to suffer with sleeplessness and pain the entire month. So I’m in a pickle.

      Me too! It’s so frustrating. My gyno wants me to have a hysterectomy to solve the problem, but I’m worried that I’d end up with more problems from the surgery such as urinary incontinence. Life sure would be easier if we were in the norm. 😉

      @@daisymae749 I am 6 weeks post surgery and I feel amazing. Laproscopic surgery is very non invasive and I had zero pain or side effects. Honestly, I pee less if that makes sense ....maybe the uterus put pressure on my bladder or the fibroids. But best decision for me!

    I spoke to my nurse practitioner about HRT. She knows that I have a family history of Breast Cancer. I’ve test negative for the Bracca gene. She prescribed a low dose estrogen vaginal cream to be used twice a week and an oral estrogen/ progesterone to be taken every day. I’ve picked up my prescriptions but I’m not going to begin until I speak to my Dr. that I see for my mammograms and breast MRI’s. I’m 62. My last period was at 52. I adore my husband but I have extremely low sex drive, I can’t sleep most nights, the brain fog is getting worse and I’m ready to call it a day by 4 in the afternoon. The vaginal dryness is awful….
    Would you please give me your professional opinion if HRT is a safe option for me to regain quality of life. Thank you sir.
