As always, Steve, thank you very much! You point out that the FDA has basically been ignoring these newer studies that point to the safety of body identical estrogen and progesterone. I’m curious whose “job” it would be to request that the FDA revisits this topic and also makes changes to their current “warnings”? Who, in this case, has the authority to make this request to the FDA? The Menopause Society? ACOG? I don’t know all the potential “players”, but am interested in the “chain of commands”, if you will, because my first impulse when hearing about the state of menopause care is usually “how/who can change this”? Clearly, there is no “lobby” for healthy, strong and vibrant postmenopausal women.

Totally agree. It needs a revamping.

Currently, I am suffering from premenopausal symptoms that torment me every day. It has been tormenting me for almost three months now, Every day I lose all my energy and I can't go to work, I have insomnia, I'm depressed, I have no energy left to do anything in life, I have to fight with it every day and felt so exhausted, I thought I was going to die. I cried to my gynecologist and begged her to save me during this time. After all the urine and blood tests and all the other examinations, finally my gynecologist I also said I'm in pre-menopause, Finally she decided to give me Hormone therapy (estrogen patch) and progesterone pills, I just started using it 2 days ago, I hope these will help let me get well and have my life return to normal, I really never thought that premenopausal symptoms could be so terrible.

Looking for answers! I have been Dx w Essential thrombocytosis (JAK 2 gene mutation),my platelet count currently in the 650k range, so not bad. My gyno insists I can’t take any type of hormone replacement. Not even Bio identical. I am suffering terribly from hormone depletion. I don’t see how bio identical hrt would change any of my risk factors. Does anyone know anything about this. Even my Hematologist doesn’t know. 🙄

If a woman already has dense breasts, would HRT be a good fit since HRT also makes women’s breast dense which in turn causes a higher risk of breast cancer?

If you're really into progesterone and estradiol just make sure to include lots of dairy products in your diet. My doctor suggested I give up all dairy products when my PSA numbers were too high. Within a few months my numbers came back down and my urinary symptoms largely disappeared. I miss cheese but I don't miss worrying about BPH and cancer.

Are you saying you should or shouldn’t give up dairy? It sounds like you gave it up but are recommending lots of dairy… I’m just confused and would love to know more.. thanks

Please clarify your comment, is eating dairy good or not good if you’re on hormone replacement therapy?
