  • Make it happen with a Viking 100 or 130 Hp engine bolted securely to the Aventura aircraft. For reliability, higher torque, low rpm and quiet cruise, use the direct injection Viking engine. (Be sure to watch the "Direct injected Viking engine" to understand why you can not get this performance anywhere else. )

This video is totally pegging my envy-meter! Great little plane! Fixed income can be such a drag.

The best video I've ever seen for this airplane. I'm about to buy a Buccanier 2 basket case. I'm so excited!

That engine and radiator set up must create a huge amount of drag.

Everything is only as fun as you make it. How unfun can flying your own plane around be. I love it even on the shittiest coldest dampest dankest days. Im flying.

And increase the cost 3 fold. But there are those that could afford it I guess.

The Aventura guys seemed pretty happy with the Viking 130 performance…Curious as to why you think they chose the Rotax for their LSA…Are you able to share your thoughts on that decision?

It is certified, we are not - makes the process easier.

Alex, what experience do you need to fly in the adventure? AULA category in Canada . Learning on Sportstar and Flight design ac.

I guess you guys in US don't have easy access to Renault or Citroen/Peugeot engines. 1.0L , 1.2L and other options, with 3 cylinders, direct injection, turbo and/or compressor, etc. Power above >120hp on small compact packages. I can imagine they're a good fit for light aircraft's, particularly in this power range and with excellent consumption/range.
Let alone the diesel possibilities, with even lower consumption and torque to spare! ;-)

i wonder if the 1.0 ecoboost or VW 1.0 tsi will work.

No, because they aren't engineered for the loads. It would be like pulling a trailer up a long shallow grade for hours at a time.

I owned an Aero Adventure Aventura and it WAS CRAP! Alex, who owns Aero Adventure is (in my opinion) the worst possible person in industry. My feeling for this sub-standard person aside, getting parts was nearly impossible and if I did get a shipment, it was almost always the wrong part! Just crap company and not a well-built aircraft. The design is great (by same designer of Searey) but the quality is like as a Quicksilver ultralight or worse. Wobbly, thin & cheap, poorly adapted for quick build times in sacrifice for quality. Truly, Kerry at Progressive makes the finest sea plane on earth and why would you pay for this piece of crap supported by the (in my opinion) the biggest dirtbag in aviation?
BUYER BEWARE! I now part own a Searey and I could not be happier. The difference between aircraft is incredible.
