Hitting nail on the head again and again. And as someone in this comments section said, at no point did the club point out why CR7 missed pre season. They allowed rumors and falsehoods to be peddled. How did they expect Ronaldo to feel? Essentially hung him out to dry.
The one player that saved our season last season. It truly was appalling by Utd and I speak as a fan. I was almost in tears when Ronaldo equalized v Arsenal a mere week or so after his sons death. The broken look on his face as he pointed to the skies. To think that even in those moments he lacked support from the club is heart breaking. Totally heart breaking.

Here's two good old ex managers explaining how a footballer should be allowed to decide on how and when he breaks his contract with the club who's paying him, in this case £500 000 a WEEK. I don't know how Ronaldo left Sporting Lisbon, but his departures from United (1st time), Real Madrid, Juventas and now United again, have all been acrimonious. Generally about his overall contribution to the team or his machinations trying to force a departure. Goals may be the deciding factor in whether a team is successful or not but they are not the only thing and sometimes not even the main thing. The point I'm trying to make is that football is a TEAM game and Ronaldo has always wanted to be the focal point of the team's efforts and none of the other teams were sorry to see him go, apart from maybe, the Directorate who agreed his contract. The argument between Roy Keene and Gary Neville, two old teammates, perhaps illustrates my point. From what I have read, United were prepared to let him go last season but nobody wanted him. His claims that people at United didn't believe his family and children's sickness doesn't tally with what actually happened. His "interview" with Piers Morgan was the last straw and has cost him a lot of money. He could even be sued for breach of contract if the Club wanted to be hard nosed but I think they are just glad to see his back.

Just as folk say he wouldn't have done this under Ferguson, when Sir Alex would never ever have caused it, never put him in that position nor made promises to then without a shred of integrity, gone back on those promises, gas lit again and again using the press and then dumped Ronaldo like an expendable reserve player! The man is a liability and I won't be happy until he's f**ked off out of the Club. Do you know why? Because if he can do that to the greatest footballer of all time, what does that say for any other player playing for or being scouted for United who could reach those kind of heights to play at United, playing under a manager who feels so insecure by a players stature he'll degrade and tarnish him in the same way?
As every professional worth their salt has said, why ETH did not agree for Ronaldo to go in the Summer like he asked, and then fart around treating him like an apprentice and lying to the man and embarrassing him?
