#readingvlog - Kråtké a kreslené filmy
So excited to watch this! Your vlogs always have such a calming atmosphere. It's a great way to start my morning
I think Kiki from Kiki's delivery service would be a pretty perfect costume. It's cozy, it's easy, it's modest, it's easily distinguishable. Anyway, that's my thought.
Good idea!
filmed the video yesterday and thankfully had the perfect outfit for Kiki so thank you for the suggestion!!
Iâm from the Philippines and seeing you take an interest in Noli Me Tangere makes me admire you more. I look forward to your reading vlogs about it. Itâs an important piece of art in our Philippine history. đ
Literally it's the chair of my dreams I can't even
youâre so articulate and such a good speaker. very enjoyable to listen to you talk
đ I could only hope to make as lovely and as long but full-of-substance vids as you do, to talk about books as eloquently as you do, to see life the way you do. Much love for you, Emma. Thankful to have found you here on Booktube.
Keep sparkling,
Rue An âš
oh my gosh but you do! I love your channel so much, your editing is gorgeous and I could listen to you talk for hours!! Thank you so so much, sending you all the love
@@emmiereads wow thank you so much!! Mentioned in my Booktube Newbie Tag that youâre one of the people who inspired me to do this. Your reply means a lot. â„ïžâš
@@emmiereads wow thank you so much!! Mentioned in my Booktube Newbie Tag that youâre one of the people who inspired me to do this. Your reply means a lot. â„ïžâš
@@literaterue: Wow. Double.
I'm in love with that chair you found at the thrift store đ and your whole reading nook, the vibes âšâšâš
Your videos are such a pleasure to watch. There's almost a therapeutic quality to them.
Aaahhh~ I hope you enjoy Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere. That book has been with the Philippines school curriculum, especially in high school and in the freshman year of college. The story is really fun and interesting. It also talks about a lot of intriguing or controversial topics, and the balance of the romance, mystery and action of these books are đ Hope you'll also read it's sequel, which is the El Filibusterismo. Everything will be explained there, the hows and whys. It's really fun that you'll also get annoyed and frustrated to some characters in both books đ I think you'll also get frustrated with Padre Damaso and will be annoyed at Padre Salvi đ€
Sending love from Philippines đ
I'm obsessed with this channel.
I love how your videos are very long! Personally I love longer videos and you're the first CZcamsr I've come across who publishes longer vidoes! :)) keep up the great content emmie âšâš:)
Gorgeous corner of books, wonderful selection of books as well ... the Doll factory, one to check out !
omg. I was surprised that she have noli me tangere! Love from Philippines đ„°
Emma, you seem like a lovely person to be around. You have such an amazing energy and have a light around you thatâs hard to find. Youâre so smart and kind, if I knew you Iâd be delighted to be friends with you!!
Love youâre videos, they are always so calming.
Your thumbnail sipping tea under the blanket tho
The amount of tabs you have in phantom is making me happy. I really want to read your copy just so I can get into your head in a way (even if you're yelling at us about it)
Absolutely in love with your vlogs, Emmie đ
awe thank you so muchđ
Your channel is sooo calming with the soothing music and stuff.....lov itâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
That chair is a wonderful score! Also, I found very helpful in my reading chair corner, I have a standing lamp behind the chair so that the light is actually USEFUL for reading.
I'm so happy you got Touch Me Not!!! :-)
Youâre videos are my ASMR
love your videos and suggestions. Every time i am one done with one of your videos i feel calm and inspired to pursue my journey as a reader. thanks a lot Emmie!!
I love everything about your videos, they have such a calming and sweet effect on me, thank you! đđ
Thank you so much for another lovely video itâs now my routine to wind down on a Sunday evening with your reading vlogs! â„ïž
hii could you maybe start putting your recepies into describtion? i just love cooking and baking and new recipies, i managed to guess recipe for apple pie that you made in your last video but i'd like to try other too
Iâm in the middle of schoolwork but I need to watch your vlogs â€ïž, also Iâve read sheets over the summer and I really enjoyed it.đâš
This was so lovely and cosy đž thank you so much for these vlogs. I hope you are doing well. Have a fantastic day Emma â€ïž hugs!
'I also found this really cool young adult book and the sprayed edeges really drew me in'
when you read it
đ€źđ€Łđ
I can't believe you know who Jose Rizal is! I hope you like Noli Me Tangere. It is a national treasure.
Omg Ginger snaps!! They are called Pepparkakor in Swedish, pepper-cookies haha. It's a Christmas cookie here :)
I'm a little obsessed with your book nook. I'll have to do something similar with all my shelves. Such an inviting reading space.
I've just stumbled across your channel and it's the most calming thing ever, just what I need right now, best find for a long time!
Loved this video as always Emmie, so relaxing on a Sunday evening. Also obsessed with your new chair! If thatâs not a reading chair I donât know what is. I have a reading armchair and itâs one of my favourite places in the whole world! Hope you have a great week đ„°
this is the coziest reading vlog i've ever seen, thank you
You could dress up as Christine from the masquerade ball for Halloween
I loooove this Video! The vibe of it is just... idk sooo good and cozyâš
Your reading corner looks amazing! Wishing you many happy hours of reading there.
I took a tour of the opera house and really liked it. it's such a beautiful building.
this month is the first time iâm joining in with the book club and iâm so exited! the best way to spend halloween :) iâm about half way through Phantom and iâm absolutely loving it! Also I only found your channel about a month ago and itâs already been such a source of comfort and reading inspiration so thank you!!
I am currently reading The Phantom of the Opera and I am loving it!!đ»
And I am trying to learn French, so all the French words in the book are helping me learn!
I love your videos, they're so comforting!â€â€
Your chair is so beautiful! Such a wonderful and chill vlog đđ§Ą
i loved this vlog as always and i canât wait to start phantom of the opera !
I love the chair you purchased ! The matching couch was also amazing ! I'm a new subscriber, and I'm really enjoying all your videos.I'm a bit distracted by the background noise from the traffic. You are fun to watch and have a certain style that's enjoyable, and endearing.
I always feel so peaceful watching your videos
maâam i love your content so very much. the vibes are so good
The view from your window is just so amazing.
Your vlogs are my favorite! đâ€
having a little book nook is honestly my dream, but I started reading just last year so my book collection is too small :(
(also love the chair!)
I love your chair! Happy reading.
I own that same edition of The Fellowship of the Ring! Itâs so pretty!
Omg! I can't wait to read Noli me Tangere!!! I had ever heard of it but I'm going to get my hands on it right away!
I wanted to recommend Bless me Ultima, in case you have not heard of it. I had to read it for my Transcultural Perspectives at Uni and I just loved it (though I was really not sure about it at first!). It's magic realism so I think you might enjoy it đ»And reeeally cool chair btw! Have a great week!! đđ„°
Hey Emma, I am reading Rilke now. Thank you for raving about it! Thank you so much. Like so much, i can't express it well enough. I cry in every pages of the poems. It makes me feel like I owe you a book/an author to recommend and I would like to recommend you Rumi. His poems are mystical/spiritual aka very similar to Rilke's. I hope you'll enjoy his works as much as I do (if you decide to pick it up someday). Thank youu. Stay safe and healthy â€
The Doll Factory has been on my tbr forever. Now i'm definitely picking it up! I'd love a more in depth review though đ
how do you find the time to read? i've been bombarded with so much work that even when i do catch a break, i spend it scrolling through social media :(
I personally make time to read. That also means I watch tv/netflix a lot less, and don't go on social media except twice a week. So much time has come free once I started doing that, and I'm reading more or less at her pace as well
@@annemontgomery3890 wow. This is inspiring and admirable. Congrats đđđđ
@@annemontgomery3890 thank you!! i'll try to do that as well :)
i love listening to audiobooks when I'm doing chores or cleaning or even trying to fall asleep aha so they're a huge help!
@@emmiereads ...this is pretty late but you should check out the mystwick school of musicraft on audible. It's a middle grade book, kind of got harry potter vibes, but with instruments to use magic. They made a physical copy, but the audiobook has music and effects when they perform. It's a cozy little read. They released a prequel, and a sequel should be coming out.
Your book nook is amazing! Love it so much! Also - fellowship of the ring! I'm hoping to read it in the next month or so.... I actually saved it to read in the darker damper autumnal season! đđ§Ąđ
The Painted Girls is amazing!!!
I feel at peace when I watch your videos.
I love the chair! Great vlog!!!
I mean, clearly you should dress up as the Phantom, no? You already have the cape!
I'm insanely jealous of your book nook, omg. My new goal in life.
I haven't managed to start reading for the readathon yet, but as of tomorrow I'll finally be past my midterms and hope to squeeze in We Have Always Lived in the Castle and Haunting of Hill House before Halloween!
Sheets looks like the perfect book to read while listening to ghost choir videos :D
I'm currently reading Loveless by Alice Oseman and omg so far 10/10. I'm pretty sure this is my favourite queer book ever so far. Not at all spooky, but definitely cozy. I saw someone else in the comments recommend Kiki for a costume and honestly I agree.
You got my bookmail!!! đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„° YAYYY
omg i hope you love Red Rising! i read it earlier this year after owning it for years and it instantly made it to my favourites list!!!! the writing is gorgeous and the story is so compelling, and i don't usually read sci-fi so that says a lot!!! loved this video
Hi Emma! I am a new subscriber here ( just this month), and I am from the Philippines. I am just delighted to see you holding a copy of Noli me Tangere! Just want you to know that I am always enjoying every update of yours. All the love! đđ§Ą
aww I love the book nook đ„° the muffins look delicious and aahh please watch Kiki's, it's such a wonderful movie!
oh my gosh a Phantom graphic novel, I'll need that đ
lovely video as always - love you đđż
Well of all the premium channels I have and the movies I have access toI still prefer your videos most of all. Great job.
I'm reading Sharp Objects too! We're reading at the same time, I'm excited to learn more about what you think... so far same as me haha
What a coincidence! Iâm from the Philippines as well and my real name is Khristle, the same way you pronounced the senderâs name â„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïž
this video healed and calmed me, Emma! đ„° I just finished Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, currently finishing The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and listening to Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. Iâm so happy to see Noli Me Tangere in this video - I, too, studied it during my high school years in the Philippines and it has changed me. El Filibusterismo is the next book after Noli! Both are evocative, emotional and thought-provoking. Also, you should dress up as Neil Gaimanâs Coraline âš
Ah! I miss seeing your longer vlogs. đ
you'd look so good as Wendy (the mum) from the shinning! đ
Oh maybe you should dress as the red death like in phantom đ
Awesome vlog as alwaysđŠ
Re watching this and waiting for the fall months to come here in Ky!!!!!
You chair is b e a u t i f u l. What an incredible find!! Looking forward to hearing what you think of Wilbur Smith because I've seen his ancient Egypt books a lot at secondhand bookstores, but I've never tried out his work either.
also YELLING I can't believe you have Noli Me Tangere!!!! had to read that back in high school too (but honestly i was too dumb for it, especially since we studied it in Filipino class and the Filipino in the book was way too deep for me to comprehend huhu) so excited to hear your thoughts on it!!
Hi Emmie. Listen: A few months ago you expressed an interest in philosophy. When you're ready again, try Jacques Derrida. Maybe not _Of Grammatology_ or _Dissemination_ at first but one of the shorter ones you can read in French. I think that you'll like it.
Highkey waiting for the day you go to Paris and visit the opera house
I was watching your Belle Funko behind you and I jus thought... You should be Belle for Halloween! There is definitely a resemblance, inside and outside đ„
I love that book by Jose Rizal. He means so much to the philippines and their fight for independence from the spanish. My fiance introduced it to me! His name is pronounced (hoe-sey rih-zal) btw đ
Love your videos â„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïž
all love from the Philippines!! It's 10:40 pm here and I'm doing our thesis but meh I just had to watch your vlog hahaha
same haha watching from the PH too while doing stuff â„ïž
@@literaterue waaah hello po ate Rue!! I've watched your vlogss poo and loved themm!! Laban lang po tayoo wahaha stay safe po kayoo

@@literaterue Likewise pooo waah thank youuu ate Rue!!
There is a second book coming out In March of 2021 called Delicates it continues where the Sheets story leaves off. I also thought the first was rushed but Iâm glad there is another to continue the story
i don't know why but i can picture you as Kiki from Kiki's delivery service!! i think you'll look really good in that costume.
edit: i just got to 7:08 and here you said you started reading the book Kiki's delivery service!! omggg.... this is wholesome
Ahh yes! And aha keep a lookout for tomorrowâs video thenâșïž
@@emmiereads i surely willđ€đ thank you for your great content!!^^
Second hand books đ
đâ„ïž
I am currently reading Testament of Youth by Vera Brittain as well as Daisy Jones and the Six. I bought a used copy of Frankenstein that wasn't in bad shape. Some one had written their name in black Sharpie on the inside of the cover and on the length of the book.
Thats a brand new recent ish chair in a vintage style I think. If it was really old it would be in much worse condition.. Great find tho . Perfect for your nook!
Emma, you've not talked about your concussion in a while, I hope you're doing okay in that. I wish you all the love and a speedy recovery from it so that you can go back to enjoying books via your eyeballs. đ
That's so kind of you, thank you so much - I'm still struggling with it every day but trying to stay hopeful and ugh me too, I cannot wait for the day that happens. I hope you're keeping well
As someone who watched your other video with your opinions on "Kingdom of Little Wounds", all I can say is....Honey, you've got a big storm comingđ¶
I'm also reading Red Rising!!! I'm listening to the audiobook, and the main character used a Scottish accent for a while. So far, it's kinda weird, but not sure if that's a bad thing or not at this point. The first few chapters are pretty good, though.
Update: it was good if you're into uprisings and fights and outsmarting people. If not, this will be quite mediocre while still being well-written. Might pick up a different one of his

Can you make a video about how you annotate your books??
I know this is booktube but please, please watch Kikiâs Delivery Service! You wonât be disappointed!!
Emma :) I am sorry for not commenting on your last few videos!! I've moved to iceland for the winter because I finally finished my bachelors and I got made redundant from my part-time job. Hahah I am so sorry for the deluge of random information I've just given you! I am finding a lot of solace with your videos as I am quite alone here - somewhat free and very much enjoying wrapping up and treating myself to very hot tea of all kinds. Can't wait to join the readathon :) thank you for all your wonderful videos
come for the content, stay for the âšvibesâš
Do Coraline!! You did a good dress up for her on Instagram!!!
You should make apple crisp with the left over apples
Oh, and I just went to the thrift store yesterday, saw The Castle of Otranto and.... it didn't register in my brain. I didn't buy it. *sad sniff* (I did find other goodies however so I can't complain.)
I DNFed Sharp Objects đ Really donât like it, but Iâd love to read another books from Flynn.
I read Phantom of the Opera and am already half way through We have Always lived in the castle.
I loved Phantom of the Opera .....and I don't know why I was constantly imagining you as Christine (from Phantom of the Opera)...the angelic voice brought me instantly thinking of youâ€ïžâ€ïž
Thanks for sharing this book with us!!!
P.S. You could totally dress as DaaĂ© for the Halloween readathon đ
It played like a movie in my head all the time
I finished Phantom for the first time and had a really hard time rating it đ€ "I think it's a read twice to get it" book for me đ
