@@mawi1172 if you are a bird breeder (or not) you owe it to any animals in your care to have the correct equipment to keep them healthy and alive,. 100 x 1ml syringes are around $10 on Amazon making each one 10 cents, it's not difficult or expensive to have the correct equipment available. It's easy to drown a baby bird with a 5ml syringe due to the surface area of the plunger making it too difficult to exercise fine control. It was advice, not criticism. If you don't have the right kit, get it
I grew up on a very rural farm with a mom who could save just about anything but I gulped in dread seeing the big syringe too. I'm not afraid to admit losing a baby mouse, aspirating it (fluid got in the lungs). Just trying takes guts working with such tíny little bodies and mouths. It's damn hard replicating what momma's do in the wild. That's why I'm glad I stuck with domestic pet rescue. Wild babies, their lives in the balance.... so hard. I'll leave it to steadier hands and nerves
Nature will take over and he will learn to hold his breath and no he's not being a suffocated it only takes a few drops to him full for its feeding. He's not shoving the tube down the birds throat but merely trying to get him to open his mouth. He's not out of the woods just yet by any means!
Sounds like you have a lot of birds, I can't help but wonder if you found this orphaned bird or if it is the offspring of one of the birds you have in captivity?

I thought the same thing. I did not know about the infection. I do know that any animal parent will throw out or reject a baby when there is something wrong with it.

5ml syringe is way too big for a bird this size, swap for 1ml and then much easier to measure out a tiny amount with each small push of the plunger.
