The appointment of Marsch changes everything. He's got some seriously great matches to get the squad ready to get something from Chile and Peru. Canada just became a dark horse, for sure.

The thing with Chile though is that they had a very successful march window. They beat Albania (a team that will be in the euros) 3-0 and competed very well against France, losing 2-3. They had very good scoring opportunities against France and they had the first goal. They also have literally no pressure coming into this tournament, as they are more focused on qualifying for the World Cup. They could very well be a darkhorse this summer.

Only thing to consider really is Rodrygo, and Vini are not the same players for Brazil that they are for Madrid, to this point so far in world cup qualifying for 2026 they've been really poor. On paper it should be too much for the USA you are correct, we shall see.

Nobody actually believes 🇲🇽 is beating anybody. I wouldn’t be shocked if they finish last in that group. 🇨🇦 is a solid team. To say they can get a result vs 🇵🇪 or 🇨🇱 isn’t unrealistic.

The thing with these South American teams is most of their players that are new and talented ate not in the medias eye. Most of the media focuses on Europe because it’s big money. However, most of these teams talent play in very competitive leagues that have history and futbol heritage. Yes, the coach can make a big difference in helping a team find itself. But, for the most part the South American teams have talent playing in important teams. For this reason I give them an advantage over any North American team.

@@edwinscs There's no real precedent that applies to this current Canada squad under Marsch. They are a total wild card. It's impossible to know how they'll show against Peru and Chile. Also - it's possible they meet Mexico in the quarters.

Really enjoyed the video, so excited for this tournament! It's interesting that one side of the bracket is so much stronger that the other, imo you have 4 of the 5 strongest candidates for the title in Groups C & D (Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, & USA) One the other side of the bracket only Argentina really stands out as a title challenger but I agree Ecuador can make some noise with all their young talent, especially on defense. Should be a great tournament!

My unbiased opinion (I’m a hardcore USA fan 🇺🇸😁) I’ll explain some of my decisions
Group A:
1. Argentina
2. Chile (they have more experience than Canada)
3. Canada (they’re doing well offensively but chiles experience will help Chile)
4. Peru (doing really poor in qualifiers & just overall doing bad)
Group B
1. Ecuador (overall the most balanced team in this group)
2. Mexico (I would want them to fail but they’re not losing to Jamaica: whom they beat in the gold cup, & they’ve never lost to Venezuela)
3. Venezuela (overall decent team, basically Ecuador with being balanced except worse)
4. Jamaica (the whole Leon Bailey situation, however they can easily prove me wrong.)
Group C
1. Uruguay
2. USA
3. Panama (they lost Anibal Godoy to injury, which is arguably one of their better players. This will make USA & Uruguay defeat them much easier)
4. Bolivia (Marcelo Moreno Martin retired & they’re not playing in high altitude)
Group D
1. Colombia (well balanced team)
2. Brazil (can only play individually, Colombia proved against USA they can easily beat individual teams
3. Paraguay (they already beat Panama in their own home, they have experience in Copa America.)
Costa Rica: No Navas, & overall struggled to make it there but won because of Navas who is no longer in the team.

As a Canadian, at best, am hoping for Canada to score a goal and get a draw in the tournament.
Since the video drop, Canada has hired Marsch, but believe he is an average to good coach (and not a great coach - which is what Canada needs).
Is there a random X factor that could spur CanMNT to do better than I am expecting?
If any, having practice matches against the Netherlands (on June 6th) and France (on June 9th) may give this inexperienced side some confidence and allow them to gel a lot more prior to Copa starting. We will see.

It significantly increases the likelihood of Canada getting out of the group. As a fan, I'm feeling confident. I'd say the Netherlands/France friendlies plus Argentina are plenty of enough prep to get results against Peru and Chile. I think they're going to be charged up and ready. Sure hope Marsch is able to establish some serious discipline in the defensive line though, cause that's where the real questions are.
Even if you don't like it, Uruguay will win the Copa America 2024.
I think the rivalry between Mexico and Argentina really comes up due to the discrimination that Mexicans feel Argentinians do towards them. It really riles up during sports and politics tbh, I don’t have any ill will towards Argentinians as I haven’t experienced it myself but it’s definitely an issue.

For starters that Canada pick is Crazy 🤯. Canada has not played well as of late. They just got a new coach with not that much time to prep or experience with this squad. All those friendlies for Canada are only going to do so much against South American teams that have been already working on their style of play, chemistry and team building for months or years.
Also this is a South American tournament which is played in Comebol style. These SA teams are used to playing against each others styles during qualifiers. The South American teams are going to be dictating games and groups in this tournament. I believe that the only Concacaf team that will advance past group play is USA.

Brazil lost to Colombia in 2023 because they had a coach who is terrible at managing national teams, this coach's style of play is impossible to succeed in a selection. But another coach took over, and with that, Brazil won a friendly against England and drew against Spain, in a game where Spain won two unfair penalties. Don't underestimate Brazil
