Sounders fans wanna get rid of Leo Chu but he played a big part in/scored 4 of these 5 goals
He was rather pedestrian for large parts of last season and that was his best season since joining the Sounders. That Seattle's FO went out and got a young DP that plays the same position would appear to indicate that they feel the same way.
@@mikehunt5637 Sure. He showed very obvious development last season, and I guess I’d like to see a version of Leo Chu built off of last seasons version, producing in a high functioning attacking group. Bc obviously nobody was producing goals or assists last year. And he still had decent numbers having to create his own chances in an uncreative offense.
@@SHeltFC His goals/assists came from a relatively few games. The rest of the time he really didn't do much, especially so in the playoffs and that was his third season at the club. Maybe he will be more consistent this year, but again, why go out and spend 7 million on a young DP if the front office thought Chu was the answer to Seattle's attacking/scoring woes this season. Honestly, I think they are okay keeping Chu around as a backup this season as they don't take a big cap hit on him because he is a U22 initiative player. If Raul is healthy and on point, I expect Morris to be starting on the left with de la Vega subbing in for him or starting to give him a rest and Chu the odd man out. If Raul isn't getting it done, then I am expecting Morris to start up top with de la Vega starting on the left and Chu subbing on for him (or possibly even Baker-Whiting over Chu if Reed is healthy).
Not sure what Rusnak's goal is doing here. There were at least 6 other goals better from MLS play, including one by Rusnak himself, vs Minnesota. The rest of the ones are good choices, except if we look outside of MLS play, Reed Baker Whiting's blast in the US Open Cup and Nicolas Lodeiro's free kick in the Leagues Cup were better than Leo Chu's 2 goals.
