- The Weslaco Lady Panthers achieved the impossible, overcoming a 9-3 deficit to defeat the Waco Midway Panthers 11-9 with a walk-off Grand Slam by Andrea Ortiz, clinching the Texas 6A State Championship in softball. This underdog team from the Rio Grande Valley is the first program from the RGV to win a state title in softball. Previously unranked nationally, they are now ranked #8 in the nation. This video captures the entire Rio Grande Valley supporting them as they take their victory lap.
