I was watching a streamer play the new character & was getting beat so bad and complaining about the whale so much it gave the impression that the character was bad. Then Incon comes along to show how it's done! Looks fun awesome!

@@necroLAN To be fair, it was the role they were saying was bad if I remember correctly. He's not meant for full damage items, he's meant for tank.

All whales are good at diving, and Bake Kujira is no exception.
Honestly, this God looks on the weaker end of released gods but still looks super fun. Definitely going to be a solo or possibly a slow jungle guardian just because he doesn't really have much peel potential. It still looks super fun, though.
And here is a thought.... Does Executioner reduce his basic attack damage through the conversion?
@MrHighRaw I'd imagine it does because it's a counter play.
its hard to gauge the effectivness of the ult, but it looks like he should be cc immune in it, maybe for a second or two.
Or the Kali treatment: immune to slows, roots and knocks.

What about bewitched dagger. No prots, but slowing an enemy attack speed while reducing damage is a nice synergy

Haven't been excited about a new god in a long time but this one looks like it'll be right up my alley.
I hope one day a team of people get together and make a team on the water based gods. Bake, Poseidon, He Bo, Yemoja, and etc

Based on this game it feels like win lane so jungle can focus other lanes but come late game you need your team to play around you because you basically become a utility god. Probably viable if you and the jungle are playing well together late game.
Winged Blade probably goes pretty crazy on this guy, right? The Move Speed, the Slow Resist, a bit of HP and Magic Resist to top things off. Imagine you get super impossible to keep off of people.
From a first glance i'd say he's gonna need some buffs for the late game. Does look fun tho.

@@Gongall i mean they literally contextualized it as an opinion based off this one game, first impressions mean alot and being upfront about the fact it is one is really a best case scenario.
also a solo laner with only two damaging abilities that struggles to use proc items is gonna struggle late game or be a completely broken compared to alot of gods unless fine tuned with immense precision
I think it’s a fair assessment to say that the whale will need a life jacket in the late game
They did say they want him to be a lane bully. I'm fine with it. I think he has a strong identity conceptually, if his teamfighting is dependent on his ult.

@@WillTheBeastFR i am aware, they are going to cause some problems FOR HIM not from him as in he wants to build protections but those reduce his protections, making him less tanky and cutting into his damage output

People will say he is broken but this god seems like he is pretty bad. barely any god can last long front-line much less being melee range to do 120 dmg... Really cool concept and kit, but it seems like he will either be broken, or useless.
I agree cool concept but he just seems boring and underwhelming. He's a whale. I was hoping for an awesome ultimate like him crashing down on the enemy team with a massive knock up. It would be cool and fun
He's mid in conq but put him in joust and he slaps
@jacobteague2137 I haven't even tried him in joust yet I can see him doing better in a 3v3 scenario because of his aggression. After playing him I'm still not sure we're I stand with him. He's cool character maybe with something added to his kit or a change would make him better.
@@jacobteague2137 The right build (and good for you enemy comp) in Conq, he's basically a walking Midgard mail +10 lol chase is good to finish kills, escape is nice to push into towers, his 2.. eh lol

Maybe the ult should have been a banish where he spins and eats them and they disappear and after a second they reemerge and the enemy is spewed out. Oh well I guess lol

30:35 I enjoy watching people die right after alternate timeline brings them back. It's even better than watching people use beads+ageis and then immediately die because of the longer cooldown on timeline.

He def needs a buff on his ult, like a shield or something to make him survive longer in teamfights
Hes got crazy amounts of damage reduction what you mean lol. I haven’t had a hard time in 9 games with him yet other than when I played him in jungle to test out. Hes a solo S tier

this is the perfect god for me because when i used to play smite all i did was either play damagey guardians or tanky warriors and bake is the ultimate damagey guardian and a goddamn WHALE
I love him but I'm kinda salty Jorm didn't get a similar conversion from defense to AA damage too.
They might do that in the future if this seems good after release (or maybe give Jorm an HP conversion to feel a bit more different from Bake... although built-in animosity might be too strong unless they make it really, really weak).

I think he has a very strong kit identity compared to most of the gods and his whole gameplay loop and role is easily understandable and defined. Very nice god to finish the year off with.

I know this idea probably sounds bad on paper, but hear me out. I kind of want to see him be in an ADC role. Get a ring or two to help with Attack speed, then build up physical protection.
It’s not bad but your damage goes up only by 100 but you become super squishy so at the end is really not worth it :(

Honestly, not really. Since it's magical and the solo enemy is gonna get magical protection, the dmg from mystical and bake is gonna be low
Does Tahuti's passive count as a proc? I feel like that would go crazy on him too if it works.
@papermachete8071 it's protections from the warrior you're against, also converts to basic attack damage, and adds another layer to the pulse?
My first thought too, but it never really does. Its pretend damage, never really all that meaningful.

He’s disgusting solo build: tainted breastplate, phalanx, pesti, onis, breastplate of valor, mantle of discord. Hit for like 170 autos and are an unkillable meatshield.
I know he's suppose to be a solo laner but I really want to play him support.
He is a terrible main frontline support. He has barely no hard control over a fight, the only thing with hard CC is his dash (so not a lot).
He is a debuffer that will follow you to the ends of the world, so he needs a well rounded team to really shine. Mainly someone to mantain people around him so he can debuff them safely (cause due to little hard CC most gods can just get out of dodge with escapes and if you follow them then you'll be surrounded by an enemy team which at that point it doesn't matter how tanky you are, more so even at lategame) and good DPS gods to take advantage of his debuffing.
He ain't a main frontliner to control the fight (AKA hard CC enemies), he's a tanky disruptor. He can't stop enemies from "doing their thing", he just weakens them so they don't "do their thing" as effectively and are easier to take down.

Tbh it doesn't make sense why you wouldn't be able to, because it's not an item passive. I can see the fully evolved version not working on him, but I don't understand why it wouldn't still stack the damage.
