I just couldn’t spend $70 at Harbor Freight for a trans jack, so I built one.... We pull a metal shelf base from the shop and use scrap steel from the shop to build our own transmission jack. This works great and has been used several times since being built, not bought, to install and remove transmissions on project vehicles!

“I need some metal for my new transmission jack” rips down a shelf from the wall... the thing is, that is exactly what I would do 😂 great vid 👌

Thank you. My brother complains about how difficult is to install a transmission by himself. I will pass this video to him. I could make his job a lot easier..

Love your Idea, however I would have to buy a ton of equip to fab this up. $70 is sounding pretty cheap to me now, lol. Great Video, nice work.'

I did fab a holder/stand for my second floor jack. Just used 1/2 in.wood base with a 7/8 inch bolt and drilled and mounted metal brackets on each side to hold it in place and not roll off the sides. Total cost, One 7/8 in bolt washer and nut.
