For me FH922 is Elementum, but an improved version for less money. I'm really super happy with it. D2 steel is superb, even better processed than on more expensive knives. I have a version with a black G10 handle and a black blade, for $35 I have no complaints. With today's knife prices, I think it is better to buy 2-3 Ganzo knives than to pay for "premium" ones.

Just got the FH922, and it’s flawless: blade centering, detent, lock bar access and tension, and the flipper tab should be the industry standard! Plus, a 90 degree spine for ferro rod use. Best value of any edc knife out there!

I was just talking about wire clips the other day and how some people think they look cheap. I was saying that I actually think the opposite cuz most knives I've seen with wire clips toward the high end spectrum. Ace knives, some Spydercos etc. This is the first budget knife that I think I've seen that has a wire clip. Plus, deep carry clips tend to be an ergonomic nightmare imo so if I have to have one, make it a wire clip with no edges to stab into your hand. The blade is supposed to stab, not the clip.

While Chinese manufacturers have a well deserved reputation for taking other people's intellectual property and undercutting the original company. Knife designs aren't exactly trade secrets. What would the knife world be like if no one was allowed to make a drop point, or a clip point, a wharncliffe, or a Persian blade shape except the people who first designed it. We would have a horrible mess of unnecessary blade shapes just to dodge law suits. I don't think ganzo got one nickel from a Benchmade customer who decided that they'd rather have a $20 ganzo. I know it doesn't look kosher but they plaster their name all over them, the steel is what they say it is, and they give a good value for the little bit of money they charge. I wouldn't buy one of those the unoriginal designs, but I have most of the knives they are based on now.

The FH41 is probably my favorite Ganzo. The FH series is pretty good. Power Cutlery is the place to go for them. They run about 25 bucks there. The 81 ans 21 are both really good too. It's crazy you can get a D2 steel flipper with drop shut action for 25 bucks. It's a shame so many people still diss them due to the copied design days. They really do make a good knife for the money. I have quite a few that I use for days I'm doing dirty or rough work. They're great beaters for sure. Inexpensive yet great build quality.

@@ericpitre4031 So is the electronic item you just typed that on. Probably the shoes on your feet too. The toaster you used to make your breakfast, and a host of other items in your household.
I'm certainly no fan of the Chicoms, but if you think that not buying a Chinese made knife will hurt them in any way shape or form, think again. Knives are just a tiny drip in the ocean of items each and every one if us use each and every day of our lives that came from there, whether you realize it or not. You would need to boycott far more than just knives to make a difference, and in today's world, that's going to leave you living a very primitive spartan existence if you do. That being said, It won't effect me one bit if you never buy a knife made there. It won't effect them either, but suit yourself. I'll agree with you on one thing, It WILL come back to bite us on the ass one day, but boycotting chinese made knives won't stop that. The majority of the electronics used in our war planes, tanks, missiles, rockets, etc etc were made in China, as is much of the prescription medicine we depend on. Let that sink in. Chinese knives are the least of my worries when it comes to the chicoms.

I recently bought the 922 for the reasons you say at the end of the video, to encourage them to do more in house designs. To be honest, I really like the knife! It is very slicey and seems to hold an edge reasonably well. For most normal EDC task it is phenomenal. I won't be using it to for my side job of working on vehicles but it will be fantastic for general carry and it is really fun to play with and actually very enjoyable to sharpen.

I purchased a FH41 recently as it was on sale for 20 euros, I am really pleased with fit and finish.
Action is great, it's slicy AF.
Their D2 is surprisingly better than many Böker models I have in the same steel...
My only concern is that on my model the clip is not reversible, and I thought it was.

Jerad while Ganzo's might be good value I do have problems with companies that allegedly use (or 'borrow') other's designs. While Gazo's certainly aren't counterfeit as they have never pretended to be another company but some of the designs ??? It's not cool to use the intellectual property of others - no different to copying artworks or books. The knife maker has spent a lot of time/effort/$$$ to come up with something new that 1) they can commercialise & make money [they have families & bills to pay too] and 2) get credit for. Copying others is lazy & just discourages the designers from innovating. If you love a design then buy the original as a sign of thanks to the designer & manufacturer 🙂.

How do they get away with their cheap prices and stay in business? 😂 I have 3 ganzos and I’m on my way to getting 2 more.

This "intellectual property" argument can get pretty silly, pretty fast. So... if I write a song using a C, G, D chord progression... I'm stealing because there are numerous other songs that use that same chord progression? Or do I have to use the same time signature, the same chord progression, and the same strumming pattern? Or do I have to use the same lyrics? There are thousands, and thousands and thousands of songs. After a while, it's nearly impossible not to copy someone, even if you didn't realize you were copying them.
AND... there are thousands, and thousands, and thousands of knife designs. Sit down and sketch out a knife design that's likely to be popular. I bet you'll find it's VERY similar to at least one other knife that has already been produced. SO WHAT!
If Ganzo wants to give me a knife is nearly as functional, as a similar Spyderco or Benchmade (or whoever), and only charge me $20, then they've EARNED MY $20! Especially when Spyderco and Benchmade want to charge me $150 or $200. It's something called "Free Enterprise" and it's the basis of our economic system. GO GANZO! Do it better... for less, or nearly as well, for less. Give me the functionality in a knife at a price I won't be afraid to actually use or carry!

I call stealing a design "cloning" as opposed to "counterfeiting". The former isn't good while the latter is very bad. Really, I wish Ganzo would just stick with these original designs. They do a nice job for the money and their D2 is decent versus some of other budget knives coming out of China.

If your sharpening this knife so heavy that you hit the plunge line wit hin 1 or 2 sharpening then you are over sharpoening big time.. Or I am just misunderstanding what your saying.
