I love using the Reminder app. I have been using it for more then a year so far as a to-do list, by clicking on the widget, adding stuffs quickly and marking as done. Never tried to see what else it can do. Now i know, and now i will use it for other stuffs that I used to use the Notes app
Awesome, I'm glad the video helped!
I love these types of videos. There are so many stock apps in iOS that most people rarely use, and if they do use them, only have little to no understanding of how to use the app. I use a lot of the stock productivity apps, and im always looking for ways to improve their use.
I totally agree - people often overlook the stock apps but they're filled with functionality. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Superb video… this is organized smartly from the basic functionality to more involved. Well done.
Glad it was helpful!
So beautiful video! 5 stars! So clear and accurate! It was a pleasure to watch it. Thanks, man!) And about the Apple Reminds - a really great app! Great review!
Thanks for the great feedback!
This was such a good video I love how smart lists work, that's a game changer for me.
Glad you found it useful!
thanks for the video!
there’s always something new to learn 🤙🏻
Glad you found it helpful!
Thank you, I found your voice very easy and calm to listen to, you really did cover so much.
Thank you, I'm glad you found it useful.
I use multiple reminders widgets on a stack to quickly cycle through different lists. Very handy when tracking multiple projects at once!
That's a great idea! I use one reminders list on a stack but having multiple is a great tip.
Thanks for these amazing tips brother. I have also just watched your video on Apple calendar tutorial. These 2 apps have become very useful after watching your videos. Thanks bud
Glad they were helpful!
Great video. Very clear and well structured. Thank you 😎

Quality video. It’s simple, to the point and easy to follow. Subscribed !
You deserve many more subscribers, keep it up.
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Great video! Is there a way to create a template of a reminder? All I can find out there is info about creating LIST templates...I want to create a template of a reminder that is in a list (to use it for video creation management). Thanks for your help!
Unfortunately not, although that could be quite a useful feature!
This was an incredibly helpful video. I had no idea Reminders did so much. Thanks!!
You're welcome!
This was helpful I’m new to Apple and I just subscribed looking forward to more videos!!
Awesome, thank you!
Incredibly helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing this amazingly!!
You're welcome!
I wish we will get updates soon. I use it similar to you and maybe a little bit more. Adding voice memo to the reminders will be a game changer.
Hopefully the new iOS brings in a few more features.
Really nice! Mine apple reminders in inspired by the book "Deep Work". I just have "Shallow work" and "Deep work" pinned and the rest is justs lists like groceries store, goals for the future and etc.
That's an awesome way to organise your reminders, thank you for the tip!
Thank you!

Great video, I would like to see a similar video based on the apple ios calendar app.
May be coming soon 😉
Great channel!
Thank you!
Great content. Love how accurate you explain everything in details. Great quality videos. Your hands are a plus : ) You´ve got a new subscriber ; )
Much appreciated!
Very useful information
Glad you found it useful.
I was using reminders for grocery shopping, organizing my list according to the route I followed walking around the store. Then I updated the OS and reminders re-organized my list into departments which DO NOT follow the way my nearby store is organized. So, if I followed the organization of the app, instead of taking about 30 minutes to do my weekly shopping I would spend three times the effort to get the same list. I've had to move my list to a simple text doc and that means it takes my four times the effort to make my weekly shopping needs. THANKS APPLE.
You may be better off just using the normal list instead of the groceries list in that case.
Excellent video. I like using tags and Smart Lists.
While using the reminders app on my iphone. When I search for keywords in a subtask, I wish the search results would pull up the entire reminder, rather than just the individual subtask. Do you know if there a way to do this?
I don't think there's a way to do this unfortunately. I hope they update this as it's a very basic update to make!
@@ShivsStudio Agreed. Thanks for the reply.
Subtasks hidden away at the bottom of a menu is the biggest friction point for me. Currently using Todoist and the ease of breaking a task into subtasks is a game changer. I don’t want dozens of tasks causing me anxiety; I want to open the open, choose the main task I want to complete, and then start checking off the subtasks.
I agree - subtasks are such a useful feature and hardly anyone knows about them! Apple should definitely make it easier to add them.
Informative 👌👌
Glad you found it useful.
Great video. informative and well shot. Care to share what that wallpaper is at the very beginning of the vid?? Its a clean setup.
Thank you! It's an iOS 17 default wallpaper: 9to5mac.com/2023/06/06/ios-17-wallpaper/
all features are amazing. I am using apple reminders but I can't use all features because of I use for simple things. Thanks a lot
The app is great for simple reminders too - no need to overcomplicate your workflow if you don't have to!
Informative, well organised presentation.Thank you for making the effort.

I've used 3rd party apps for so long. I found your channel and going thru the videos you have me second guessing it 😂. Going to have to give the stock apps another go round.
Nice! The stock apps are really powerful and get even better when you use them together due to the Apple ecosystem working seamlessly.
@@ShivsStudio For sure, I've been using Apple Notes exclusively for a while now, but using the tips and now using Reminders it's perfect and cohesive. The only thing I cannot get past is the Calendar app. I like the way the Google calendar app is touch and drag instead of having to manually insert the times.
@@croppixelmedia check out my video on the Calendar app, you may learn a few things there too! If you don't want to insert the time in Calendar, you can just go to the date and time you want to insert your event, press there, and the time is already filled in.
Very nice video. I think reminders are useless, unless they pop up on your screen and are persistent until you acknowledge them.
I agree for time-sensitive reminders, however the app is great for to-do lists that you don't need sight of all the time.
Exactly! Many times, I miss my reminders because app didn’t give me a nudge to complete my tasks. The problem extends beyond the stock app; other third-party apps have the same issue. I think Apple really needs to update their library for reminders in the next iOS version. Currently, it’s useless for me as well.
I have the iphone 15 Pro Max reminders does does give any options for type of list or any choices other then color for the heading ?
Currently it only lets you choose from a Standard list which you can colour-code, a Shopping list or a Smart list.
@@ShivsStudio yes that is what I was saying so is it the same for all 17.5 version iphones ?
@@donnaabotsway3552 yes
Is there any way to use get a week / upcoming week view in board style, one board per day of the week. Thanks.
I don't think so, but the Fantastical calendar app lets you do something similar.
@@ShivsStudio Ah ok thanks.
Your vids are what i've been looking for - as a long-time Android user who is looking to switch to iPhone (since I already have an MBpro). My main question or wondering if you can do a video on it is how well the Apple system talks or integrates into Google apps (which I use both personal and business gmails, cal, Gkeep,G Photos, GTasks). I know many are wondering the same - I always see iPhone users having Gmail on their phone but then I don't see the rest of the G apps - is it b/c the integration is really bad or something else. I'd appreciate your help as I'm looking to make the move soon to an iPhone - but I would hesitate if I'm 'forced' to use Apple apps only. ie I like a fully integrated ecosystem - that is why I'm even considering an iPhone (but don't want to get ride of my G apps). Thanks!
Thanks for the comment! What Google apps do you specifically use?
I have a question about the "Reminders" App. Is there a way to make it "ping", in other words, is there a way to get some sound to let you know what the "ping"(Groceries, making a schedule, to remind you when it’s time to make a video)…and so forth? I find using the "Reminders" App very confusing.
Yes, when you go into the specific reminder you can add a time and date. You will then get a notification at that time.
Ah, low battery. Staying true to almost every cell phone video from other CZcamsrs.
😂😂
This was so goout! hey buddy is it just me or u got any idea why the view as colum option aint available on my phone? :(
What iOS version are you on?
And if I transfer todo-Management into reminders, how to achieve the so important overview of the achievements of a day? Can’tsee an option like this in the intelligent list setup.. 🤷🏼
Unfortunately you can't do this - Apple Reminders is good but it's definitely got room for more functionality.
The search function stopped working on my iPhone 12 mini with the latest update but still functions on my iPad Air. I have been using reminders for years and would use search to add or remove items from shopping by checking or unchecking the items in my list. Anyone else have this issue? Also, can i make an existing list a grocery list format? I have an existing list a hundred or so items long and would hate to make a new one.
Go to your existing list > click on the three dots in the top right > show list info > list type > shopping.
Did that work?
@@ShivsStudio yep, thanks for the help.
I’m using an iPhone 15Pro running iOS 17.2 but my Reminders app doesn’t have most of the features such as type of list, icons for lists, icons above keyboard, menu options from the 3dots. App Store indicates up-to-date. Please help
I believe there’s currently a bug where you only get all the features if your iPhone is set to English. What language is your phone in?
@@ShivsStudio it’s English. Please do share more info if you happen to come across another subscriber with a similar situation. Thanks for the content 🙏🏽
@@mrleksss also try linking your Reminders to your iCloud.
Great video tutorial. But I can't create the Groceries list. I have an iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 17.2.
In fact I don't have the "List Type" option visible at minute 7:27.
Thanks
Rosario
Try connecting your Reminders app to iCloud. You can do this by going to Settings > Click on your profile at the top > iCloud > Show All (under apps using iCloud) > Turn on Reminders. Does the list now show?
No@@ShivsStudio
The same happens to me, even though I have my Reminders App connected to my iCloud. My iPhone is not set in English, could it be the reason why I don’t have this function?
By the way, very good video!
@@filippocarotti1376 This has also been known to be a bug - it's possible that the phone doesn't show these lists if English is not the set language. Hopefully they patch this soon!
Yes, it's true! This is a bug, changing the language on the iPhone in Reminders shows Te List Type.
Thanks@@ShivsStudio
Can you add a person on the reminder to use it as a project management tool
Unfortunately not, you’d need to use a separate project management app for that.
Reminders have come a long way. But for repeating habits like tasks - running, walking, writing etc. - a widget with streaks seems to be missing (basically the reporting part so to speak) which shows your progress.
That would make this stock app perfect.
That seems like a feature for a more specialised habit tracking app. Fitness related streaks can be tracked in the Apple's Fitness app too.
What iOS version is this? I have version 17.4.1 and there is no “list type” or emojis when selecting new list [1:35]
What language is your iPhone in?
@@ShivsStudio it’s in English and it’s an iPhone 12
I like the widget but I wish it was not interactive. It's very easy to accidentally mark a reminder as completed when you're moving around your homescreen or if it's in a smart stack. I'd prefer to be able to have it just open Reminders
I've seen that complaint a lot, maybe Apple should add an update to toggle whether a widget should be interactive or not in the next iOS.
Agreed 100%
I actually removed the widget due to this. Constantly clearing reminders on accident.
I agree. My idea is to make it so that you have to long press to complete a task. What do you think?
That would work
@@janon2402 I think that would work very well - I literally made this mistake today!
This App is very handy... but I expected it to automatically synchronize the reminders with your agenda app... As far as I'm seeing it doesn't. Or does it?
Which Agenda app?
My phone is up to date, but I do not seem to have the ability to pin a list or add an icon to the list, nor do I have the choice of type of list???
What iOS version are you on?
Have to sync iCloud but be aware many reminders that we’re on my device were deleted
Try connecting your Reminders app to iCloud. You can do this by going to Settings > Click on your profile at the top > iCloud > Show All (under apps using iCloud) > Turn on Reminders. Does that help?
I can't use that groceries list. I don't have list type option.
\What language is your iPhone in? The list option currently only comes up if your iPhone is set up in English.
@@ShivsStudio i get that, thnks so much. I am using in Turkish
I’m unable to edit to add or change lists in the reminders app on my home screen. Anyone else experience this, and is there a fix?
Do you mean in the Reminders widget?
Is there a way we’re you can delete the ability to not complete your reminders and keep it there forever because I sometimes accidentally click the reminder and complete it and then the whole reminder that I wrote is gone😭
Do you mean on the app or on the widget?
can you link the reminder to the calendar on iPhone? I mean automatically sync with calendar and reminder.
I don’t believe so as reminders are technically not ‘calendar events’. You’d have to create a new event in your calendar for it to show there, or instead you can drag and drop a reminder from the Reminders App into your Calendar to add it as an event.
Alternatively, you can download an app like Fantastical which automatically adds your reminders to the calendar.
@@ShivsStudio i see. Okay thanks!
Options for you
Fantastical (beautiful but pricey and subscription based)
Calendars (a bit less beau but less pricey and subscription based)
Calendar 366 (good, one app purchase but syncing is a bit slow to my liking)
GoodTasks
Even though I’ve searched for the perfect match, I always go back to the combo, aka Calendar and Reminder native applications)
@@BrunoDECOURCY this reminder can syn with calendar?
Fantastical has a free version too which works well with Apple Reminders and has a really nice homescreen widget too!
How did you get dark mode?
Settings > Display & Brightness > Dark Mode.

Hi. I See your super video. I’m trying to organize me better 😂. I haven’t de großer or list like your. Why? Can you help me? I have a Apple Watch, it is possible to se the gorsserie list too in the watch? I have a iPhone 14 Pro, do you thinks thoos grosserie list don’t work in this iPhone? Many thank for you help
What iOS version are you on?
@@ShivsStudio hi 17.2 since yesterday. I tried everything to have this List 😭
What options does it show when you click 'Add List' in the bottom right of the screen, and then click on 'List Type'?
@@ShivsStudio wenn I do aide list. It appears the place to done the name of the new list, under those just Filters. Wenn I goes inside it shows me de tags, dates, time…. But I don’t have the option like you chose the liste. It schows me just filters 🤷🏻♀️I don’t understand
@@andreiafreitas5583me too…
I need the reminders to be displayed continuously on the screen till the task is completed.
Have you tried the reminders widget?
Whenever I watching your videos, I have to zoom in to see the full content on the screen
Thanks for the feedback - I've corrected this in my more recent videos!
@@ShivsStudio best luck 🖤
Can i use this App in Android ??
Unfortunately not, it's an iOS app.
As much as I want to stick with native apps like reminders and apple cal, I can't stress how digusting it is that apple doesn't have calendar integration into their reminders app. The moment i put a date, it should be added to the calendar. When you date something, it's the most important thing in the world. IDK why it's not like that.
I have a Calendar video coming out next week and I think a lot of people will be surprised that this feature exists!
Can you set a reminder that reminds you with an alarm
You can set a Date and Time and your phone will alert you of your Reminder.
@@ShivsStudio yea I don’t always look at my phone and prefer an alarm. A notification isn’t significant enough
@@ARR0W You'd need to set up a separate alarm in that case.
I don't have List Type section and cant choose Shopping list type
What language is your iPhone in? I believe this feature is only for iPhones set to English unfortunately.
@@ShivsStudio Oh, I see. I use Russian on my iPhone
why have you not mentioned "reminder" features? Alarm setting etc.?
Which alarm settings?
Why it had no sync with calendar? It shame
Check out my video on Apple Calendar - there are ways in which you can integrate Calendar and Reminders!
I dont have the icon
Which icon?
Sections don't work when I change my reminders to shopping list
It seems to take a bit of time to kick in - try closing Reminders, deleting your list and remaking it and it may work.
thanks, it resolved the issue @@ShivsStudio
This wasn't helpful, I wanted to set my time specifically to 7:03, but that isn't an option! I know it's possible because I set it to a specific time but either it doesn't work anymore or i forgot how to do it.
Instead of using the scroll wheel to set the time, try pressing on the time instead. That brings up your keyboard which you can use to set a particular time. Hope that helps!
@@ShivsStudio you have no idea how much this helped me, I don’t know how to thank you!
@@Amber50710 no problem, I'm glad you found this video helpful!
@@ShivsStudio just one more question, this technique only works on one of my smartphones, (iPhone 7 Plus) when it doesn't work on the other, (iPhone 11) why is that?
@@Amber50710 try checking your iOS version, are you on the latest for both phones?
u can't repeat reminders every 1min or 5 or 15.. only hourly
That’s right. In what case would you need to be reminded of something every minute?
