    I love Darkest Dungeon's new multiplayer! I theorycrafted up a build I like quite a lot, and haven't seen anyone running something similar. Used it to go straight to Darkest 1 (the highest rank in DD's multiplayer). Can't wait to see what else people come up with!

    I learned it and climbed to the darkest 1 from the lowest level in 5 days with a win rate of 80%. Your comp are truly the best of the best!

    That's a great comp! I see what you are doing with dodge + stress resist idea + DOTs to keep your opponent low and counter healing. I personally have a similar comp in a way, but try to utilize Highwayman with Wicked slice instead of Jester just for the sake of pure damage output and experimenting. I also tried to fit in a Leper with Purge against Hellions recently (again, just for the sake of the experiment), but found him somewhat rigid, not flexible enough and position-dependent, sadly.

    I actually ran this comp but sadly didn’t have the same trinkets, I’m still fairly low on the prestige levels still, but also I didn’t consider the power of adding blight to the jester’s melee hits, I was running his reaper hood item instead since it seemed like just a better version of the melee axe thing. It’s overall a really damn good team

    Oh, I get it, its all about the +25% dmg-whilst-guarded finale. rest of the comp is built around that

      @MichelFialloPerez Před 4 lety +12

      I dunno if you can say the comp is "built around" the finale, I think the crazy riposte damage is also central.

    Great video! I’m currently Veteran 3 and was confused by a few of the choices made in the video, the other comments cleared up a good bit of confusion regarding the builds (mainly the lack of the stress heal on Jester) though I’m curious about your finale. Why did you choose to finale the MAA instead of the hound master? I know that the Houndmaster didn’t have a 100% of death, but would the reward of killing the Houndmaster have been greater than the MAA? Or is taking that risk simply not worth it?

    • @limevolt7618
      @limevolt7618 Před 4 lety +3

      I assume that waiting a turn to weaken the Houndmaster further and then Finale’ing wouldn’t have been a good play due to that requiring an additional action to pull off, so the finale was in a way, a sort of “now or never” situation correct?

    • @StringierHail56
      @StringierHail56 Před 4 lety +4

      MAA is harder to kill than the houndmaster imo. If he could stack the DoT well enough in order to get to death's door for the houndmaster, then the riposte of the MAA on his team can finish it off, which can't be said for the enemy team's MAA.

    I'm trying to create a party for my multiplayer circus, but anyone has any advises of what should I look for? currently I thought using antiquarian, man at arm, highwayman and shieldbreaker, but last match I won by pure luck that I stressed the 4 enemy heros, and yes I am in the apprentice ranks but I don't feel like I'm ready for those ranks so I am looking for advises of what to look for when I create a composition

    If you'd met my comp, I would've ended your win streak.
    I run a stress comp with stealth from Occultist.
    You don't have anti-stealth on your SB, and Jester Dirk stab can't kill if your opponent knows what he's doing.
    I never lost a match from Veteran up to Darkest 1, only thing I'd lose to is virtue comp I think, but never met one of those before.

      @@angel-6776 Indeed! Before you assume that an Occultist invisibility / stress comp is a counter, check out just how many of those there are in the match history shown at the end of the video.
      Who knows, maybe your comp would be different, but I can at least say that I have a plan to deal with invisibility that doesn't rely on taking Expose.

    • @greyskies9
      @greyskies9 Před 4 lety +4

      @LudicSavant I think I fought you sometime in the past few days, your name sounds familiar. Though I can't tell for sure whether you've won - it might have been that match where I quit out after my Jester didn't manage to kill one of my opponent's party members by 1 HP after they had just massacred one of my dudes with a crit from their Jester. Might have to throw a challenge in your direction to see what's good :)
      @cclemonb1222 What's your team setup? Hellion/Man-at-Arms/Graverobber/Occultist I would assume? I have to admit I have no idea why a stealth setup should have the advantage against LudicSavant's party composition, and personally I haven't had trouble against any stress builds, focus fire or otherwise - though admittedly I run a party with two stress healers.
      EDIT: I just saw that the Jester in this video doesn't have the Stress Heal tune. In this case I am indeed curious what your strategy against stress teams is, LudicSavant?

    • @LudicSavant
      @LudicSavant  Před 4 lety +5

      @@greyskies9 My strategy against stress teams is simply to kill them before they can finish stressing out my party. Bolster and high base Dodge slows their progress in applying stress, and gives me ample time to wipe them out. I've never seen a stress heal team that could outpace the amount of damage/blight/bleed this team can put out without activating riposte via AoEs (which is suicidal against this team).
      How I wipe them out depends on exactly how they're applying stress. For example, if they want to use a Zealous Crusader or Harrying Hound or Abyssal Artillery, they're just going to be eating high damage ripostes and killing themselves before they get very far. If they're just spamming Bellow, they won't be able to deal with 15+ blight/bleed a turn on everyone. If they're focus-firing one person with guard breaks and panic darts or the like, I'll usually have their entire team bleeding at the death gate by the time they get a single heart attack, which is a win for me.
      Basically, Bolster slows the stress, and then Adder's + Crushed Hemlock Harvest + Festering Vapors + Spiked Shield Riposte kills them before they can actually finish stressing the party... usually before they can even stress out a single person. The shieldbreaker's pull and the MaA's knockback/daze can also help disrupt them, slowing their strategy even further.
      For this composition, the stress heal tune would be a liability; simply doing damage faster and having enough dodge/stress resist that they can't win the race will crush the vast majority of stress comps. There is almost no situation where I'd want to use the stress heal tune over another action, even against a stress team. Consider for example that a single use of Crushed Hemlock Harvest is worth 12 blight/bleed in addition to the direct damage. Or that Battle Ballad pays for itself, action economy-wise, if it turns even one miss into a hit.
