    So do the math.... 450 pounds for CFMOTO and 412 for the Kawasaki. That is not 50 pounds. Remove the back and stick a $10 tidy tail on for 10lb weight reduction. Then for $134 get a slip on and loose about 30lbs in the muffler and now you are at same or less weight and for only $150 more. The chipset is $70. My 2022 650NK is putting out 74hp unrestricted at 410lbs. I paid out the door for everything $6750. I don't know what you mean by comfort I ride mine everywhere. Steel braided brake lines make it stop better than way more expensive bikes. This is a fantastic bike.

    Here in italy this bike costs like 2000 euro ( 2000 usd) less than Kawasaki and yamaha, and its price is less than most 400cc or 500cc bikes (even less than the mt03), so for me it is a best buy

      most of Yamaha and Suzuki bikes are not in stock anywhere, from what my dealer said up here (who also sells cfmoto since first year in USA) they where told, its going to be years before they get any type of stock from them when it comes to bikes.. thou we do live in northern ny so that could be why.. im thinking about the 300 nk also, i dont like spending alot of money on something you use a couple months out of the year and the top speed is fine for around here.. what gets me is the gas mileage.. you cant beat it for the price.

      @@Gender1979 i would say jump on it. I got the 300nk on July 1st, and already put 350 miles on it. I understand the "couple of months a year" its the same here, near a lake in the midwest. The only issues I have with the bike were the play in the throttle and the friction zone being way too far out, but I easily adjusted them and now theyre perfect.

    I agree with most of your inputs...And while I agree that if this is someone's first bike, they should definitely go with one of the bigger brands, I think...if this is a second bike, and someone just wants to commute and save money over riding their sport/super bike, this is a great buy! The weight doesn't scare me. The low power is ehh...but at the same time, I'm looking for a cheap commuter...and this ticks almost all my boxes. I want an MT07, but the price of this, just makes it justifiable in my situation. Great review!

  • @JeremyBanham
    @JeremyBanham Před rokem +3

    It’s interesting that this bike appears to be more for markets like Australia that has massive restrictions for learner and new riders. The 650nk is actually the most powerful LAMS bike in Australia, all the others are heavily detuned etc. they start to make much more sense here. I do understand though why in USA and other non restricted areas it would not do so well

    • @Omni_Moto
      @Omni_Moto  Před rokem +1

      In the US you can get a motorcycle permit at age 16, which is just a written test, and then it’s free reign (aside from passenger/nighttime/radius restrictions) for whatever motorcycle you can afford.
      If you had the $ to do so, you could go buy a Harley Davidson Road Glide CVO Ultra Limited (968 lbs/439kg) with no prior experience or required courses/tests - just a little slip of paper that says you scored 80% or above. At least that’s how it is in my state.

      The MT07 LAMS produces 75hp, and weighs the same as the HO. It’s more powerful and lighter than the cfmoto. The cfmoto doesn’t make sense unless you’re trying to save money. Just get an sv650 if finances are a concern

    • @JeremyBanham
      @JeremyBanham Před rokem +1

      @@snooperty 75hp is the non-restricted version, not the LAMS output. LAMS makes around 38kw/52hp. (650NK makes 41kw/55hp) Brand new the MT-07LA is also $13,500 (just over) in Australia, the 650NK is $8,300 (just under)... that is just over $5K in savings! Then there is also looks to consider, which will absolutely come down to personal preference. I'm not saying the MT07 isn't the better bike, simply that the 650NK makes a huge amount of sense to a lot of people.

    I was really looking forward to this review after I had gone and test rode the 300nk, 650nk, and 700. It’s going to be my first bike and I loved your other reviews. I’m waiting for my gear to arrive before going to test ride them all again with more confidence, but I remember after riding them all I loved the 700 and 650. Have been torn between the two. The 700 definitely felt more refined, but I really wanted that hyper naked look more than a scrambler look. Ugh… would you even recommend just getting the 300 for me? 6’3” 220lbs. Also, you should do these reviews and talk about your height and weight and how the bike feels for you. I’ve read all your comments but should add that in. I also agree you don’t have more subscribers. Could you maybe do a shootout video of all the cf moto bikes? Maybe doing more of a comparison on which bike would be for who VS initial impressions.

      Great idea for a future video! The 300NK would haul you around just fine at those dimensions, but you may feel a little cramped up on the bike. My vote for you would be the 700 CL-X Heritage just because it has a more upright position that would favor a taller/broader frame while still having the powerhouse engine.
      I had a feeling the CL-X was going to far outperform and handle the NK, and after my test ride I think it would be a safe play to phase the NK series out to bring in the CL-X series across the board. I’m sure that’s a few years out though as CFMOTO develops.

      650 can be a first, but it is a heavy bike and that’s not good for a beginner. The 300 saves you a pretty substantial amount financially and is super easy to handle because it is so lightweight. Sure it’s a little slower, but if you go back and watch my 0-60 test for both of them, the 300 is not that far off.

    Hi, I really liked your video. Just curious, I've heard that CFmoto bike of the same model that are being exported to USA are more powerful than the ones to Europe? Is that true? Also, just curious, is there a huge difference in power while riding it compared to MT-07 and Z650?

    • @Omni_Moto
      @Omni_Moto  Před rokem +1

      Hey! Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching. EU has a lot of legislation in place for what they consider "beginner friendly" motorcycles, and I believe the 650 class falls under the L category. This means the bikes have to be restricted by the OEM to be compliant with EU laws, and IIRC the cutoff is 50HP for the L class. So, to answer your question, I think any middleweight bike in EU will be restricted to below 50HP for anyone who has L plates.
      The power compared to the Z650 and MT07 is pretty noticeable, and that's why ultimately I would pick up one of those before going for the 650 NK. CF really missed the mark with this bike, and the better version already exists with the CL-X 700 platform. You can watch my review on that here -------> czcams.com/video/3lYU8nJNKb4/video.html

      In Australia it is the most powerful 650 you can ride on on your L and P plates.
      Also that extra weight makes it better on the highway. Also its fuel economy is poor compared to the other two you mentioned. This has been noted in videos in Australia and Asia. Its a heavier bike with and older Kawazaki copy motor. Poorer fuel economy.

      Hey Jason, thank you so much for your kind comment! I do my best to be thorough and explain without having the videos drag on too long. I try to keep it under 10 minutes, but sometimes you just can't deliver enough information in such a short time frame.
      Anyway! The 650 was about 1 second quicker than the 300, which is to be expected as you work up the ladder. Bigger CC=more power=faster acceleration. Again though, the 650's weak point is its weight and lack of horsepower. In terms of a great intermediate middle-weight naked, the CL-X 700 far outdoes it in terms of performance/handling.
      The only benefit the 650 really gets is the TFT display in my opinion. Aside from that, that 700 stomps the 650.

    This seller has absolutely no knowledge or the slightest skill in terms of motorcycles, at least regarding the 650 NK.
    Maybe it's because the bike is Chinese that you made this video oriented in this way, maybe not, but all the figures, the statistics, almost all the known and recognized testers praise the merits of the 650 NK against the Yamaha, KTM, Suzuki, Honda... They are either equal to or superior to their competitors, and this on a number of points.
    The conclusion is this. You are definitely a good bye!

      I like CFMOTO, so your accusation of my review being biased because of its Chinese country of origin is way off base. Also, I sold CFMOTO for 2 years and the 650NK was BY FAR the least popular model, right next to the Adventura 650.
      Figures, statistics, and real-world testing show this bike is NOT on par with the current competition in the 650 market.
      To me, it sounds like you're speaking from emotion rather than from factual information.
      Here is a link where you can download the brochure and see the specifications for yourself. www.cfmoto.com/content/dam/cfmoto/site/global/product/motorcycle/nk---naked/650nk-/documentation/2021_650NK%20brochure.pdf
      The 650 NK is 454lbs wet, 60 horsepower.
      The MT-07 is 410lbs wet with 74 HP.
      The Z650 is 417lbs wet with 67 HP.
      The SV650 is 432lbs with 75 HP.
      The CB650R is 445lbs with 80 HP.
      Those are called facts.
      To say the bike is superior is a HUGE stretch, and at this point just wrong.

    Lmao, I'm not even sure where cf-moto are made. I've only heard of them a couple of months ago. My first impression was, that's one ugly duckling. Looks like they bolted a tablet to the handlebars. Im still laughing. You work at the dealership I googled it and go to see several photos of the dealership. Made in China = no thank you

      So CFMOTO is actually a really interesting Chinese company. They have a partnership with KTM to manufacture for them, but the contingency is they have to have KTM standards for quality control.
      This started back ~2012 when KTM wanted to explore out-sourcing for cost-savings and meeting production demand.
      KTM got the benefit of meeting their demand, and CFMOTO got the experience necessary to get their quality control levels up. Their engines/transmissions/chassis are all in-house designs, and they've been over in Europe for quite some time now with positive reviews.
      In short, CF is not your typical Chinese/Chonda ripping off already existing designs and being the loophole for US/Japanese patents. In my honest opinion, they are breaking the stigma that everything Chinese is automatically junk. I've sold several of them already and everyone seems to be really happy with them so far - and I haven't seen any of them come back from engine/transmission/electronics issues, so I'd say it's a great start for them in the USA.
      Time will tell us if they will survive, but based on how well their SXS have done in the US for the last few years, their on-road competitiveness is nothing to scoff at.
      Of course there are those who swear CF is part of a Chinese conspiracy to collect data and invade the USA - and it's just that: conspiracy.
      CFMOTO still has a long way to go before they are really adopted by US audiences as a serious competitor, but with their ability to deliver value along with affordability with no compromise on features, I firmly believe they are here to stay.
      I hope this clears up some of the questions you might have regarding the brand and its authenticity.
