    These DIY classes should be compulsory to qualify as a buyer even an internship at RE workshop should be added to the certification program. Because after sales service is only paperwork. RE has the super power to fix all the issues by ticking the check boxes.

    RE should continue UCE engine. It's the last one with the old heritage - push rod engine. Despite the vibrations, the torque is good and the beat is a music for the riders and passerby. At least, let Bullet Standard 350 continue with the UCE engine. It's good.

  • @TheExhaustedME
    @TheExhaustedME Před 2 lety +7

    It would be a less hassle if a regular drain bolt or an allen bolt was used instead of the wicked 8mm bolt.
    If proper torques weren't used they are known for their notorious behaviour.
    They either snap off or damage the threads or simply impossible to remove because of how tiny they are.
    Since they are under the engine and facing the elements all the time a small knick in the sides would cause a socket to loose grip and eventually slip.

  • @SwordsmanXB12Ss
    @SwordsmanXB12Ss Před rokem +2

    This was good info, but don't be surprised when you release the side cover and oil starts POURING down your engine case, even after removing the bottom strainer. They make it look tidy in the video, but your filter will still be holding a lot of oil. Quite a messy procedure.

      You have to feel the torque as it is not possible to carry torque wrench everywhere

    • @tpv59
      @tpv59 Před 2 lety +2

      Just go by 'feel'. Tighten up and then just give it a 'pinch' more. That is all you have to do. NO more.

    • @Actias1974
      @Actias1974 Před 2 lety +6

      Let’s hope RE use better metrics that “feel” and a “pinch” when assembling these bikes.

    • @35goonyboy
      @35goonyboy Před rokem

      Probably a “skill level” issue as far as feel, but a small 1/4” torque wrench and socket set are tools worth investing in.

    • @maximusmax4557
      @maximusmax4557 Před rokem +2

      Just snug 'em up. I've seen more stripped oil drain bolt threads from dudes trying to torque 'em than you could shake a stick at! If you insist on using a torque wrench, an 8mm bolt should probably get torqued to less than 10 ft. lb.
      Question: How can you tell a CZcams mechanic from a real mechanic?
      Answer: CZcams mechanics think they need to torque every single fastener to spec!

    • @akshayviruss
      @akshayviruss Před 2 lety +1

      Partially, the old classic has only single bolt to drain oil from the bottom and there is no oil filter at the bottom, instead it has magnetic oil bolt. And the primary oil filter at the side doesn't have spring, instead the spring is on the filter cover. Also the quantity is different, old model needs 2.5L of 50 grade oil.

      Drain a little bit out. But instead just make sure to use exactly 1.7L during refill. Run the engine for 2 minutes when done, turn off, wait 5-10 min then check oil level (bike on center stand) for peace of mind.
