    I would say that even in standard goats the uterus and sacs are still close to the abdominal wall so the microconvex works just as well on my larger goats. I have had from pygmies on up to large standard goats.

      That's very interesting! Do you find this to be the case throughout the entire pregnancy? I have to say, the only time I've ever really struggled with a microconvex probe on small ruminants was when scanning a particularly large sheep late into her pregnancy. I could confirm pregnancy fine but just couldn't get the penetration I needed to see all of the lamb.

      I have had to position the probe further forward on the belly, but the uterine wall is still very close to the abdominal wall. Hard to see much though as the babies get very big. If the probe is in the "regular position," near front of udder , in late pregnancy you will just see cotyledons and legs ( if the baby is in diving position).
