Yes. You never know. Half of those guys might not go back to the All-Star game.
I liked seeing the young players/first-timers, and I'm sure other newer fans also enjoyed this.
Skenes turned 22 at the end of May.
I remember reading something YEARS ago in Sports Illustrated and it talked about how in a majority of Tommy John cases, the pitcher comes back with increased velocity. That's usually when kids want the pre-emptive surgery is for the increased speed

Whose to say 28 of these guys aren't all stars again next year and its hard to be a 21 time all star in 2024 with this much world drafted talent and more teams and roster spots for players where younger guys get more of a shot and old guys get thrown out earlier compared to 1971 lol...

Objectively, dozens of new AS's is GOOD for the future of the sport because if they (each new star) continue to climb, you'll end up getting your "10-15 yr All -Stars" like you knew when young.
It shows the game is in good shape, talent-wise.
Speaking of the home run derby, having those kids, some of whom aren't old enough to be out there, is a completely unsafe situation. Somebody is going to get seriously injured. Often times the previous ball is still in the air while the next ball is being struck. A line drive could kill somebody.
Is it fan voting? Or is this a plan by mlb to get a younger viewership?

I think with Harper, De La Cruz and Witt jr you’re seeing a new generation. Baseball at first pushed back against Harper because of his style. Now you’re seeing more players like him. I think they’ve had to hit the reset button and people will have to adjust to the younger players making their mark⚾️
Old guys are out and not good enough...means young guys are taking over...

Younger people don't like sports like in the past, for the most part, their attention span is very short, everything now days is look now, now ,now, can't focus on one thing for very long, thanks too social media

Buddy we got plenty 35 + year old pitchers. And they get paid. It ain’t like running backs. Dan been out of touch with baseball. They only talk football and basketball
Paul Skenes, if He Starts in the 2024 All Star Game will probably end up having a Matt Harvey type Career because Harvey Started the 2013 AS Games and needed TJS later that season then He was never the same Player.
Probably be Lopez or Imanaga that starts for NL...Saurez was in line to before his last two bad starts nixed that.
A lot of guys are sucking this year, at least on my team (Braves), that were great last year.

Paul Skenes was a Air Force Academy Star Baseball Player first and took the Falcons to the CWS before He Transferred to LSU.

A couple of generations of bad diets and food ingredients, corn syrup, etc, has weaken body structures across America's upper body sports. This uniform fiasco has destroyed pride. A "uniform" handed to you as a kid that looked like your heroes properly worn, was everything. Merchandising doesn't bring fans to what's between the lines.
