  • A song I finished a little while ago about, in brief, realizing the younger version of oneself may have been wiser than the current version of oneself.
Most of these videos were recorded when I was a teenager (except for the home videos from when I was 3-4, and a few from my early 20s).
The mix on the lyric video of this that I posted a few weeks back is different/worse, I got OCD and tried to make it sound like it was recorded on a prehistoric toaster oven to obscure flaws in my voice but it backfired.
Anyway here is the original caption:
"This is the most recent song I've written. About 2 weeks ago I was looking in the mirror late at night and something about my expression brought me back to the summer I was 14 in a super surreal way. And it freaked me out, so my expression broke, and then I looked like adult-me again. And I observed the vibe of my adult expression Re: 14-year-old me’s expression, and I was like….jeez. And then imagined the incident as 14-year-old me talking to adult-me.
Song reference in the lyrics, You Swan Go On: • You Swan, Go On
Also, Astrology Nerd Moment: The “Piscean haze” and “Sagittarius starry life on wait” lines are because I have a Pisces Rising and a Sagittarius Midheaven. The Rising is how you approach life, and how life feels as you’re actively walking through it. The Midheaven indicates your aspirations, and where you feel like you’re heading in life on a more metacognitive level -- in other words, the Rising is just You Living, wheras the Midheaven is You Thinking About You Living. I think the Rising/Midheaven axis is very inherent in coming of age experiences. You can most likely identify a time your life where you felt like you were really “in” the energy of your Rising and Midheaven in tandem, figuring out who you were and where you were going in a profound way - a coming of age experience, no matter what age it occurred at for you. We’re always coming of some age, aren’t we?"
