Onboarding and retaining engineers is a challenge to any technology company. How can you speed up making a new hire productive, and make it possible for them to explore and transition to new positions in the company?
Spotify has focused intensely on this problem and developed tools and processes that have measurably improved metrics around onboarding and mobility - such as time to 10th PR, and cross-domain expertise from code commits.
This talk will look at Engineering Bootcamps, a unified developer portal, deploying to production on your first day with Golden Path tutorials, and Spotify’s internal marketplace for career opportunities, Skill Exchange. [...]
